Sorry for dropping in here, but this was of minor interest. In this column, Bill Simmons (who writes for ESPN.com's Page 2) mentions playing Smallworld football (at the very end of the story). Sort of a roundabout promotion of a competitor, now that TSN's in the game :)
Like I said, of mild interest. Probably very mild. :) |

Patjams... make no mistake that Sports Illustrated is indeed ESPN's competition, so I bet TSN is too. Just good journalism.
And same with Simmons - good journalism.
Besides, what's so wrong with ESPNers playing Smallword?

The answer should be rather obvious: Bill Simmons is getting tips on managing his team from Jason Sehorn. (If you've been a SWF regular, you'll understand what that means.) Check out page 49 of the October 1 ESPN The Magazine and you'll see that Simmons has sold his "Boston sports fan" soul to the evil New Yorkers.
