It looks like Rotowire is now making us pay to get updates on players. Are there any other free sites out there that email USEFUL reports on players???? |

the sites I use for fantasy football are rotoworld.com and kffl.com
KFFL has a good section called "Breaking News" which gives almost up to the minute news.
Another good site for the latest info is Rotoguru.com :)

I've modified the RotoWire player links in the sortable stats and player pages. They now lead to player info at http://fantasy.sportingnews.com/nfl/.
I'll also add RotoWorld, RotoTimes, KFFL, and SportingNews to the second dropdown menu.

I understand that they need to make something, but whatever genius decided that people would pay $60 should be handed his pink slip.

this price is unbeleivebly high! think about it, we pay $7 to play the game itself, why should we pay $60 more for something that's only helps us play the game?

You all are assuming that the only people that visit RotoWire are people playing TSN games. ESPN charges $29.95 for one basketball team ($49.95 for 3). Multiply that by 4 sports and you have $120 for one team each or $200 for 3 teams each. $60 doesn't look so bad to these people. That said, there are still plenty of good free sites available that I don't think this is going to help RotoWire much. Their info is good, but it's not that good, IMO.

I thought the same thing when I saw the price, that is mighty steep. I can find the same information from another site, i.e. TSN gives the same info on the players page as Guru eluded too. What a bunch of crap Rotowire. May you not have any subscribers! And then lets hear you wonder what happened to all of your patrons.

How much were they making on you before, Mr. Psycho? ...and how much are they making on you now? Doesn't look like they are losing much from the lack of "patrons".
I agree though that they should have priced themselves with the thought that their would be significant migration to the free sites that are still out there. I think they are superior to other sites, but maybe just $2 a month superior.
My thought is that they may be pricing themselves for the those that seriously desire to win money in fantasy games or just plain sports gambling. From that perspective, it may be worth it.

A LOT of Football Fantasy sites have started charging admission for their "services".... most of these services are regurgitations of other fantasy sites and are usually a day behind, so they are useless to begin with more than half the time... they were free last year and rarely helped, I certaintly wont be paying to view them...
