With youngroman's mistake in sending an invite to a 14 team to roughly 28 managers, we're left in an akward place.
There seems to be enough interest in having a qualifying league hosted at Fanball that it makes sense to host the second league there. Trip has volunteered to co-commish the league there and I have no problem with someone else stepping up to be the other commish with him.
Here's the list of managers who expressed a willingness to chip in about $5 to play in such a league:

Thats 9, leaving us to find 5 more to complete the league.
Also, it appears some of those listed have signed up for youngroman's league. I think it would be appreciated by us who are trying to to form this league and those who want to play for free if you would leave that league and join this one. Please dont feel you have to; its just a request. |

Alright. We only need 2 more. I'll send out a group e-mail later to check draft availability for everyone. It would be good to get this thing rolling on Monday. I am leaning towards using the boards to draft. Does anyone have a preference. Also, does anyone have anytimes when they will not be able to draft or send a queue to someone?

I will be unavailable for 2-3 hrs from 12:30 pm to about 3 pm (EDT) Monday. Once I know draft slot can send someone my couple of picks if necessary. Also Trip I think we need to finish off the individual defense player scoring (if any??) Right now its blank and we also have a defensive team slot??

It doesn't look like we will be full by tomorrow, but we are close.
Do we want to invite gurupies who are already in qualifying leagues or wait for another couple of days?
I have received the instructions for setting up the idp's.
I have commitments till about 10 PM tonight. I'll send something out then.
Bonka - I'm sure we can work something out. Obviously we can't hold the draft for three days.

Hi all,
I don't mind having people from another league join in to ours. Actually, I am pretty much amenable to anything so long as we can form a league and play.
As for the draft, just let me know when and how it will work out. Chances are that I'll be able to check my e-mail more efficiently than this site so, Trip or dgrooves, if you want to e-mail me the particulars of the draft once we are ready to go I will review the information and govern myself accordingly.

I would prefer to use Fanball to draft. It would make it easier to see who's still left. Only problem is setting the right time between picks, especially now that us college guys are going back this weekend and some of us also have sport practices and are helping people move in this saturday(me for both).
I would be OK with the forums if each pick could be entered into Fanball as the draft goes so we can at least see a rough idea of who remains. It also allows for someone to be skipped if they run out of time, but still allowing them to choose a player themselves as soon as they can instead of the computer doing so.

I will open up the draft tonight after I set the schedule up. Invites on the way out to slowhand and bonka. The consensus seems to favor using fanball for the draft and I see no reason not to. I will let fanball randomize the draft order if there are no objections. The first 5 picks will not be on a timer. I will then set a 6 hour time limit with down times TBD.
I will let the members debate as to what to do during weekends but would like to see what progress we make first.

Sounds good. I assume we can set up a queue incase we can't be around for a time period of more than 6 hours incase it's our turn. I move back to school this Friday and then help freshmen move in Saturday, so I have a very busy weekend.
And as for the downtime, is there a way to just take off a time limit during those times instead of closing the draft? That way if people are on, we can get as many picks in as possible, and if they aren't, then there's no big deal.

- Points for defense allowing more than 35 points (should be -4)

Looks like I have truly offended the Fanball Gods- two 12 tean drafts #10 and 11 and now 13 of 14. Same as Guru so we will see who can do a better job from probably the worst draft slot of all LOL.

I went to the draft room and attempted to make my 1st pick but when I clicked on the players name it didn't give me the "draft this player" option only the "add this player to your queue" option.
The previous page says the status is "ready for the commisioner to start the draft".
Perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong so check it out and let me know how /where to draft.I'll check in @8 AM

I just tried to get into the draft room and it won't let me through my server so either:
1) I drop out and one of the other RQFL #1 GM takes the spot
2) we draft on the board and it gets entered -
everything else works fine, just not the draft room - sorry again.
I could post updated draft spread sheets if need be.
