I'm really wrestling with who to pick for my defense this week. I still have Buffalo, but if Vick starts I'm more inclined to move away from them even thought they are at home. I'd also like to free up some money, so I've looked at Indy and KC, but can they keep it up?

What are the other defensive strategies being employed here for this week?

I'm having a tough time with Ds this week too. I'm leaning toward the Jets if in fact Leftwich doesn't play.

I'm thinking of keeping Detroit. That saves me a trade and they can't do worse than last week's 0.

Kidding aside, how about Tampa against Green Bay? Favre's boys have been pathetic so far. I like Indianapolis, too. Cleveland showed some offense last week. Let's see if they can do it again, against a real defense.

I moved Buffalo to Dallas. Dallas is only a 1 week hold (vs OAK next week), but they should make some more $$ this week and dominate a weak SF team.

Yeah, Swami, I was thinking about Dallas too, but remembered what Detroits D DIDN'T do against Chicago.

F that, I went more conservative... Tampa.

Holy Smoke, it looks like San Fran is the team to play against at almost any position.

San Fran points against rank by position:
QB=32
RB=17
WR=32
TE=31
PK=31
DEF=29

Of course, one good week on defense will skew those numbers a lot. But imagine if someone started the season with the Anti-SF strategy. You'd be smokin' right about now.

Ah crap...hoops ramping up, been making hockey stuff...and image this...work has had me swamped...knew something slipped.

Anyone with Excel 97 want a copy of this, incase I forget (or someone wants to take it over?) I'm not certain it doesn't run on Office2K, but it definitely doesn't go on Office2K3 that I now run. I'm too uninterested to move it out of Excel into VBScript, whatnot.

A bit of a stat adjustment by SF this week.

Anyone have the TB defense? I was this close, but traded for Pittsburgh instead.

I don't use any one source as gospel, but I do study this info and find it very useful.

Any way to further sort it "home" and "away" games?

And again, thanks to RSF

Thnaks for this...

i was wondering about mjd's post above... the home and away split would be nice if possible, seeing as several teams play very diffrent @home VS away

It's ridiculous how many good RB matchups there are this week. Hoping to nail the trifecta, but would love to have 2 out of the top 3 RB scores for Week 9.

The league leaders will grab SA and Edge and hope to negate differential in the RB position.

I wish I could bottle what I'm doing this year, so I'd have it again for the future.

With a "bad" week, I've slipped out of the top 100 to 125. Still in the top 100 RV, even though I'm not going for an RV prize.

1st place in 4/6 leagues including Gurupatrons. They schooled me in Ultimate baseball and I'm trying to return the favor.

The 2 leagues that I'm not in 1st are the top two leagues overall and I'm in the hunt in both.

I'm in a bit of a budget crunch, and will need some football winnings to finance the baseball season.

Are you coming close to or surpassing 3000 points each week, mjd? I've never been able to do that so regularly as I have this season. It's amazing. I know I'm still outside of the money places, but I can get there with 5 weeks left.

I'm 190 points or so behind 1st place in my division. I gotta get up to that top spot.

Looking at the leaders in the top 250, only the top 62 are averaging 300/week or better. I'm only averaging a decimal over 2971, so I guess it's close.

People think that with many lineups being so similar there is no differential to be made. I wish that were the case. I lost 400-500 points this past week alone because I held Gates and had Brady instead of Palmer. I'm hoping to outlast the competition with RV and trades. I saved 2 trades in my mind, by hoding Gates.

It's still way too early to panic if you're only 190 out of first. Remain patient and just continue to play your best lineup. Top 250 pays also.

I went from Gates to Cooley, who had fewer points, and I also had Brady instead of Palmer. That hurt. BUT, I went with Minnesota defense, and they scored a 405. So I made up for most of the lost points.

Yes, back to Gates this week.

I am going to make 3 trades and save one.

Are you going to get Palmer? I'm not. I am going to probably swap Brady for Brunell, but haven't decided yet.

I actually like Brady this week with Dillon coming back. After that -12 by Brunell, I'm not sure I can ever trust him again.

My only trade this week may be LJ to Edge.
