0 Subject: The old \\\"rate my draft\\\" thread

I know these type of posts are annoying. Maybe we can keep them all in one thread this year? Anyway, any feedback on my draft would be appreciated and I will try to reciprocate.

QB: M Hasselbeck, T Brady, S McNair
RB: Ronnie Brown, C Portis, F Gore, Chris Brown, Wali Lundy
WR: L Coles, D Bennett, Isaac Bruce
TE: T Heap
D: Carolina
K: J Kasay

6pts/any TD, 1pt/10 rush/rec yds, 1pt/25passing yds
1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D, 1Flex

I picked Tom Brady in the 5th round because I couldn\\\'t believe he was sitting there and there wasn\\\'t much other value left. Hopefully I can get a deal for a decent receiver for him at some point. I picked up Isaac Bruce in the 11th round.

Is that an Exit42 league? I've found in similar leagues to the one you've described it's nice to have some good WR's. I am guessing you didn't draft any until Round 4 or maybe even 6 (after Hasselbeck and Heap, and Brady?).

I would try to trade Brady if he has a good first game or 2, as his value can't possibly get much higher than it is now. I just don't see him duplicating last year's success with all of the turnover among his wideouts. I could be wrong. But you need some serious WR help, IMO. Look to trade him early. I guess people won't be too excited about him now if he lasted into the 5th round.

RB's seem solid, but that means almost nothing in the preseason. In Week 8 you'll have a much better idea of how well you drafted. And by then these words won't amount to much.

Right, culdeus?

12 teams btw. It is a Sportsline league for my work. I can usually dig a WR off of waivers during the year, so I didn\\\'t put a ton of value there. I had a few WR sleepers in mind, but we are only allowed 6 bench players. I was going to wait a bit before I decided who to drop. Hopefully, at least one of my WR\\\'s will have a come back year.

The sad thing is, I would take any one of the WR\\\'s on my Eagles team right now.

(I\\\'m using a web proxy to get around the work firewall, so that is why there are so many slashes in my posts. My apologies)

It only happens when you type apostrophes.

Maybe if you stop using them, the slashes will go away.

Oh, and quotation marks, apparently.

Not a fan of the draft strategy re: roster requirements.

With a 1RB 2WR and a flex I'm assuming you let a WR go in the 3rd? for Hassleback? Not a fan when apparently there were tons of QBs on the board remaining. So now you have 3QBs for one sopt and 4RBs for two. It's obvious you won't start a WR at flex.

Trades in FFL are hard to do because it's tough to figure relative value across differnt posistions and it's easy to do inside the same posistion. They really only work in Keeper leagues where you trade points for youth across posistions.

My round three choice was Hasselbeck, Burress, or Derrick Mason. There were no other WRs worth considering at that point. If I had known that there would still be decent QBs out there at round 5/6 I might have chosen differently, but it seems like the QB run was about to go down.

Rooster, don't use ' or " and I think the /// will go away, if that troubles you too much. Doesn't bother me.
