0 Subject: NFL Pick the loser. Week 1. 2006.

Posted by: C.SuperFreak

Let's see if this works for football. Rules taken from J's mlb pick the loser game. Wasn't sure if J was running one for football. J if you are planning on running one I'll delete this thread.

Here goes:

Rules:
1. Each week pick only ONE team from the schedule of games to lose. One team only. No point spread.
2. If you do not pick a team for the first week of the contest, you can't join midway through, you'll have to wait for next season.
3. Anyone can join, just pick which team you think will lose.
Beware, you can't pick that team again for the remainder of the season.
4. Once you pick a winner, you're considered a loser, please leave ;)
5. Your pick must be submitted before that particular game starts.
6. If you do not submit a pick for a given week, it will be counted as a win, and you will be eliminated.
7. If your game gets cancelled, you will be allowed to change your pick to a game that hasn't started yet.
Otherwise, a cancel is as good as a win, meaning, you're out!
8. Once we get to the final few players, a couple of new rules are thrown in…
a. Your pick has to be in before the start time of first game of the week.
b. If still tied at the end of the season we'll carry over to post season.

Pick wisely, pick well.

I prefer "Dead Pool" or "Survivor Pool", but pick the loser will do.

As a philly fan, I love the Houston picks. Andy Reid is 1-5 on opening days though, so I was a little scared about that one. The year he did win on opening day the Eagles went to the Super Bowl.

Oh, and even if 60 people pick and are 70% right each week, we should be done before the byes are finished. Although Perm Dude and I once had a legendary pick run in Aussie Rules a few years back where we hit double digits.

Perhaps we should let those 'eliminated' keep picking. We can still see who can produce the longest streak, and we can also see who can get the most right over a 17 week season still following the rule that each person cannot pick the same team twice over the course of the season.
