0 Subject: Sean Alexander out of Action with Broken Foot

Posted by: Texas Flood

According to rototimes.com Alexander has a broken bone in his left foot and could be sidelined for at least a couple of weeks. His backup Maurice Morris will start in his place.

Might be a good time to hit the waiver wire.

His Ultimate price is only 1.2 mil but he goes against the Bears this week. Gotta keep him on the "Lemdar" though.

Sorry, didn't see that you'd already started a thread on it. I'll blame TF for starting another one. ;)

Yeah, but MBJ didn't find a way to insert the use of Lemdar in his post. I don't play smallworld anymore, but that term still cracks me up.

IIRC I think the "Lemdar" term was coined by "The Pink Pimp" "What About Bob" or perhaps is was GURU himslef. Geez I miss those days!

"Those days" changed when it became a contest for money. Used to be during the baseball season you would have sort through more than one page just to check current threads. A lot more sharing and strategy. Don't get me wrong, I love rotostyle of play, but those days were fun too.

TB, I started playing Rotisserie Baseball in the mid 80's when the book by Glen Wagoner first appeared on bookshelves. It was at the height of the baseball card frenzy, and man o man what good times those were.

I no longer play roto baseball our league disbanded after last season, and the problem was money. The stakes simply got too high, feathers got ruffled, people got hurt and pissed off.

The only game I now play is Ultimate Football and I sure don't do it for the money. My skills are not that good! It takes little of my time and it's fun to compete.

I can remember how we used to help each other and we had some great players here. Rotoguru players were always among the highest ranked and the most knowledgeable. I spend very little time at this site but I still use some of the tools from time to time.

Good to see ya, peace TF

Shaun Alexander, citing the healing power of prayer, reportedly hopes to play this Sunday night.

The foot stopped hurting Tuesday and Alexander reportedly spread the word to his friends and family. Don't get too excited yet; Seattle's medical staff will make the final decision. If nothing else, this shows Alexander may not be out for too long.

man, between TO and now this, what a weird day for football...

what next? Eli Manning announces that he is not exactly Peyton Manning's brother, but rather a clone developed in a lab from Peyton's cells.

According to cbsspsortsline, Alexander came in today w/o the "boot" on and Holmgren started to chew him ouot. Then Alexander started jumping around on his foot saying, "Coach. Its fine. I'm fine. I can play."

They're taking more pics today and hopefully something semi-"definitive" will be known tomorrow.

from cbssportsline:

News: Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander asked for and got another round of CT scans Wednesday on the previously diagnosed cracked bone in his left foot. Alexander said those tests showed the same break in the fourth metatarsal that was there on Monday. So despite feeling "great" following two days of praying and "a bone machine" feverishly working at Alexander's house, he says he is out indefinitely - including for Sunday's game at Chicago. "Unless it's the Super Bowl, I don't think that Mike would even let me think about playing," an upbeat Alexander said of coach Mike Holmgren. "A lot of swelling is gone, a lot of blood from the bone (is gone), but there is still a crack." Alexander still was listed as doubtful on Seattle's injury report late Wednesday. But the Seahawks are assuming he is out. Maurice Morris took all of Alexander's practice repetitions Wednesday and is primed to make his fifth career start in Sunday night's showdown with the Bears, who are also 3-0.

Analysis: It looks as though on Thursday the Seahawks will make it official and rule Alexander out for Week 4 vs. Chicago. Get him on the bench and keep him there until he is officially ready to return to action.
