0 Subject: NFL TV Markets

Came across this site which I found to be very useful. You can find out in advance which specific games will be on in your area. I find Fox's tv markets to be fascinating and the explanations at the bottom equally interesting.

wtf? why does it look like atlanta isn't getting a 1pm CBS game? (1 game at 1pm - Falcons-Cards, 1 game at 4pm - Pats-Bengals)

This is because Atlanta plays at 1. I hate the rule that the area can't have a game on the other channel when that teams plays. When I am not at school I can't watch Colts games because I live too close to Chicago. 45 minutes east at school I am close enough to get South Bend, IN TV. It's retarded in my opinion. Show the games, give us a choice. If you are really a fan of the local team you'll watch the game. If you aren't don't force us to watch a team we don't like.
That's my 2 cents.

I know how you feel Kyle. As a life-long Vikings fan, I am not at all happy with my usual choices on Sunday afternoons. Being approx 1/2 way between Dall and Houston (OK, closer to Dallas), I get to watch the cowgirls and the texicans almost every week. Oh joy.

Ouch Sarge. I thought I had it bad having to go thru those 6-10 seasons watching the Bears, knowing there was a better team I enjoy to watch with a 6-5 230lb Quarterback with a laser rocket arm.
Cut that meat!

I'm the same as Sarge. But last Sunday they did not show the Texans game for the first time I can remember. Maybe they did not sell out or something.

Or everyone can just move to the Trenton, NJ area so you get two of each channel (CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC, etc) with 1 being the Philadelphia channel and the other being the NY channel. I usually 3 different games at each time slot to choose from.

local newspaper reported that the Jets-Colts game will be on in ATL (same time as Falcons-Cards). So that map isn't 100% accurate.

woohoooo!!!!

Anyone with Cablevision have any idea what channel our free NFL Network preview is on this week? I want to watch the Rutgers game tonight and have no clue what channel. I also haven't found it all week and we supposedly got it free from 12/24 until 12/30.

I have RCN in NYC, and get this: they actually give us the NFL Network... EXCEPT when there is a game on. They even have an announcement about it when you call customer service. "Due to the financial implications..." What a crock.

In Hartford it was pretty bad. You got Jets, Patriots, and Giants. If the Jets played the Patriots then you got another game. And at least the Giants played the Eagles twice a year. I usually went into work to watch, and to have many more choices.

Living in Canada, my cable package gives me an east and west coast feed for the major networks. I get New England and NY area teams, and get Seattle games. One nice thng is that our ESPN equivalent, TSN, gives us the NFL network games, even though my cable provider doesn't offer the NFL network.

When I was in college in Atlanta, we had a satellite package. We didn't have any sports add-ons, but for some reason we got Fox San Francisco. So I could get Fox Atlanta with my rabbit ears and Fox SF on the satellite. It meant a lot of late nights with Jon Miller commentating and Barry Bonds hitting homers.
