In our auction format league, Frick pulled out a narrow 88.84 to 88.20 victory over our previously only undefeated team VicariousD.
(.04 pts/yd Pa, .1pt/yd Ru-Re, else pretty standard scoring.)
Kudos to Frick for that one!! |

I won in one of my leagues 64.85 to 64.55 this week. Last year, me and a co-worker matched up twice and he won both weeks by a combined 0.90 points in a standard scoring league. Crazy stuff.

As I posted on our league site, I was praying for no scoring adjustments.
Which could still happen.

I have two wins of .20 and .15 in weeks 3 and 4 of my main yahoo league. Both were near loses for me as I was up against MNF players who scored huge games. In the .15 game I was up against McNabb when he had 4 TD's (2 on the ground), but was pulled in the 4th Qtr for J Garcia!!! Thanks to Andy Reid for that move.

I don't have any leagues with percentage points, but I tied instead of won when Alge Crumpler was 1 yard short of his next threshold a few weeks back.

I held on for a win in one league that I didnt expect was gonna happen. (He had 5 guys going last night.) I had a RB 2 yds shy of the 100 yd bonus, a WR 2 yds shy of a Re yds bonus and a TE with a 60 yd catch that had it gone 1 yd more, would have been a 61 yd TD (and bonused for a long TD play) plus the 6 points. Those 5 yards, scattered across 3 players, would have been a 22 point boost to my teams score. lol 4 points per yard in essence!

re post 3, a couple weeks back we had a late score update that changed the winner of the game, AFTER the initial standings had been updated. not sure when the update occurred. we didn't notice it til wednesday.

If Tatum Bell had scored on his last run instead of ending up on the five yard line I would have won my match-up.
That reminds me of this factoid:
In December of 1962, and again in January of 1963, Charles M. Schulz penned "Peanuts" cartoon strips that mentioned McCovey's near-game-winning hit in the World Series that previous fall. In the first one, Charlie Brown asks, "Why couldn't McCovey have hit the ball just three feet higher?" and in the second he wonders, "Or why couldn't McCovey have hit the ball even two feet higher?"
Why couldn't Tatum have run just five more yards?

I have never seen this before: In my friends league which we score the similar to RIFC. Final Score 117.3-117.1 The difference: Jay Cutler takes 3 kneels and was starting for the losing team. Has anyone ever lost because your QB took kneels?

The thing to remember with Fanball is that the Live Scoreboard is always off on the IDP and Defense. Doesn't get them right until the official results pop.

Sarge and I are in a keeper league, think this is about our 5th year playing/running the league..
I believe this is the first time I've seen 3 teams scores the exact same pts in one week. This in a league that has a pretty unique and akward scoring system.

Me: 43.16 Him: 55.62 (+12.46)
Me: Longwell Him: McAllister
Me: 57.16 (+0.24) Him: 56.92
Our league is 10 rushing/receiving yards per point, so just 3 more yards by McAllister and I would have lost.
And if the Vikings had scored a TD after that loooooooong penalty with about a minute left, I would have lost because of the lack of a FG.
First MNF game I've watched in its entirety in some time. :)

This is the year for razor close games for me.
Had a game turn on an assisted tackle... on special teams. A .15 lead turned into a .6 loss.
Had another game turn on IDP adjustments - 1.5 lead turned into a 4.5 loss.
In RIFC had a game turn on an IDP adjustment - 1 point lead turned into a 1 point loss.
This week I went 2-0 by a total of 8 points. I actually scoured gamebooks last night to make sure there would be no unpleasant surprises this morning.

I lost a really close one over the weekend by the score of 117.66-118.02. The worst part was how it happened though. My opponent had the Vikings defense and I lost on the Brees' desperation heave that resulted in an INT. 2 seconds away from victory!!! Or is it 0.36 pts away from victory? Either way, it sucked!

RE Post 21 - Thanks AG for letting me know how I ended up with that win. When I went online Tues AM, I saw how bad Peterson did in the box score and just knew I had lost to you. Imagine my surprise when I finally checked our score in Fanball! Here I've been thinking that my last minute dropping of Kasay in favor of Carney was the difference maker.

Nobody seems to be mentioning Westbrook stopping at the 2 yard line last year v Dallas. We won the game, but not the fantasy points -- I for one could have used them!

In reality, that was a briliant football move on Westies part. I have himn as a keeper in 2 different leagues, and yes I could have used the points for sure. That need on my part though, doesnt alter the truth of what he did. SMART, smart football.

As an EAGLES fan, I applauded the move by Westie (thanks to Jon Runyon's brilliant idea), but as his fantasy manager it cost me in a tie for the playoffs...

This isnt a particularly close contest but more of a bad beat complaint. I am in a 10 team Yahoo league. Top 4 teams make the playoffs which start this week. I finished with 1280 points overall so just under 100 per week. The #1 seed in the playoffs finished with 1260. Noone else finished higher than 1160. So I had a good 10 points per week higher than most everyone in the league. Long story short, I did not make the playoffs. I finished 6th in the 10 team league. Week after week of getting the 2nd or 3rd highest score and losing. It was unbearable. Kudos to the RIFC leagues for giving those wild card spots so something like this usually doesnt happen.

G24 had a game two weeks ago where the final was .02 difference, but just saw a link from Esquire Magazine where they featured Slizz and Great One's game last week where it was a .01 difference after Eli threw a INT on the last play of the game. link
