Beginning in week 10 the NFL is hand picking a game to move to the Sunday night slot. Who do you want to see?
Schedule They've already picked the Bears and Giants in the first game, I would agree with this selection.
Week 11 - I would go Cin @ NO, with SD @ Den a close second. I'm betting they go Ind @ Dal though.
Week 12 - Phi @ Indy
Week 13 - Sea @ Den
Week 14 - Giants @ Car or NO @ Dal
Week 15 - They would never choose Cleveland @ Baltimore so I'll go with Phi @ Giants
Week 16 - Christmas Eve...no nite game
Week 17 - Pit @ Cin |

Note - CBS and FOX will each be able to protect a total of five games in the seven weeks of flexible scheduling, but not more than one game in any week.

I wonder if CBS "protected" the San Diego-Cincy game in Week 10?
Other possible protected games: Week 11: FOX - ATL@BAL, STL@CAR CBS - CIN@NO, IND@DAL, SD@DEN
Week 12: FOX - CHI@NE, NO@ATL, PHI@IND CBS - PIT@BAL
Week 13: FOX - DAL@NYG, MIN@CHI CBS - SEA@DEN
Week 14: FOX: NYG@CAR, PHI@WSH CBS: BAL@KC, IND@JAX, DEN@SD
Week 15: FOX: PHI@NYG CBS: PIT@CAR, KC@SD
Week 17: FOX: ATL@PHI, CAR@NO CBS: JAX@KC, PIT@CIN

I really hope the 12/31 Pit@Cin game isn't moved to a night game. PBS for New Years Eve is not what I have in mind for my 10 year old. That might become the first game he misses in four years.

I'm surprised W10 Bears/Giants was not FOX-protected. Giants have a good schedule and if they stay in the hunt, could be picked up quite a few times as there are alot of good matchups.
NBC I think has to notify NFL 12 days in advance.
I look at it this way, based on national market interest and/or current record NBC will likely pick games involving these teams: NYG, DAL, PHI, CHI, SEA, NE, NYJ, PIT, IND, DEN. [Perhaps you can add: WAS, NO, ATL, STL, CIN, BAL, SD]

As long as Indy is undefeated, they are the ones going to be protected if their opponent has any talent at all.

I realize that flex scheduling would not work on Monday nights. But back in April, did ESPN really think that the Raiders would be decent enough to warrent two games on MNF?

I thought they would be until watching them the first four weeks of the season. Historically, they have been a solid MNF performer even considering the amount of road games at division opponents. I am sure that back in April the Superbowl runner-ups vs the "hated" ex-division foes looked like a solid match-up. If the Raiders came out and sustained any kind of offensive drive it would have been a decent game.

c'mon TB, at no point in time within the last 2 years could anyone would've justified any Raiders game as MNF worthy!!!!

I can't deny my bias, but MNF is about ratings and what other team is loved and hated more than the Raiders? The Cowboys might come close and Indy is fun to watch right now, but the Raiders still have a very large draw. A winless Raider team has more draw than most teams in the league. Well, even if I am wrong, it's the only game I watched all week. I caught a little bit of the Chiefs/Rams and Pats/Colts on Sunday but I'm tuning in and watching every Raider game televised.

Well, then it's you and a few TV's in correctional facilities and that's about it. No one hates the Raiders anymore, it's like hating a guy in a wheelchair with an oxygen mask and an IV. Sure, the guy was an a$$hole who bullied you in the 70's when he was tough and wild, now he soils himself.

And this from a Chickenhawk fan? I don't know what's worse, hating a team more than you like your own or trying to deny the hate yet posting it in plain site. I flew up to Seattle a few years back and watch a game. There was plenty of love and hate. Home away from home.

Certainly not a Seahawk fan, Vikings through thick and (plenty of) thin. Has this what Raiders fans have sunk to, longing for people to hate them? The Raiders can't even get arrested anymore.
I feel for Randy Moss, he was on his way to the Hall of Fame until he was traded to the Raiders.

LOL. That is pretty funny. I read an article recently that hits on what you are saying. People used to love to hate the Raiders, but after being one of the worst teams over the last four years it must be hard to hate a team that you almost feel sorry for. Every team has their down times. They will turn it around soon. Defense is playing well. They just need an offense.

As a Dallas fan, that's kind of what's happened to my view of the Niners. Their rivalry was more because they kept meeting in the playoffs, so once that stopped it was hard to keep that going. Not like the Redskins or Eagles, who I'd be happy to see go 0-14-2 every year, only tying each other twice 0-0 and reduced to punting on first down and hoping for fumbles.

Week 12 (11/26/2006): Eagles @ Colts goes to 8:15PM. For that weekend, Sunday games Chicago @ New England, and Giants @ Tennessee moves from 1PM to 4PM.

I bet each network wishes there were a few games they could 'give away' each week. I bet FOX is real thrilled about having to cover DET @ ARZ for the locals in Detroit and Phoenix [if ARZ sell out?] If you get picked to cover that game, you know where you stand in the pecking order of FOX announcers.

SDG-DEN is a great pick. #1 ofense @ 33.0 PPG vs #1 defense @ 12.3 PPG.
Luckily I get two CBS feeds and CIN @ NOR is on one of them [Charleston]. Myrtle Beach, Florence CBS feed has PIT @ CLE.
Both FOX stations [Myrtle Beach and Charleston] have STL @ CAR. Last week one had the WAS @ PHL game, one the Saints game.
Have never figured out how they determine which affiliates get what. Some weeks I get same game.

This independent web site maps out what parts of the country get which game. It also describes the process on which game gets selected in each market.

FOX already hyping Dallas@NYG week 13, so it is a sure thing they blocked it and it will remain in the afternoon. The only other desirable FOX game that week is Sea@Den, so that should be the likely move to NBC with the Giants/Cowboys then moving to 4PM (espeically since the NYJ also scheduled to play at 1PM and the two NY teams never go on tv head-to-head. No CBS games that week do not involves 2 contending teams.

Eagles @ Colts... wondering if they wish they could have a do-over on that schedule choice now since it's the McNabb-less Eagles. I mean, people will want to watch the Colts... but by halftime I figure many people might start tuning out.

I wonder if Fox regrets "hand picking" all these Giants games to keep -
Giants-Cowboys Giants-Eagles Giants-Saints
all games that Fox protected.

I doubt they do. Ratings are driven by NYC and Chicago in most sports. So protecting those teams is most likely to happen unless the game is just awful. Even then NYC tunes in.

With a little luck Mark Anderson sacks Brett Fav-ra not less than five times; all highlight reel worthy too.
Bye bye Brett. Enjoy Canton and leave my Bears alone.
