When are they going to start making his bust in Canton? Surprised Vick didn't make it.

no knock on Romo, but it's not as if the NFC has a hotbed of stud QBs right now. Romo and Brees are head and shoulders above everyone else with McNabb out.

I agree with Westbrook. He is an alternate. Here's hoping Tiki gets injured:)

The fanboy in me was pulling for Mark Anderson who is a rookie DE for the Bears. He has 10 sacks and isn't even a starter.

Romo is no suprise at all. Other than Brees and Bulger who? Vick, Grossman, Eli, Hasselbeck all of those guys have warts.
The NFC is terrible. It must have been tough to select a Pro-Bowl at all positions. Without giving this a lot of thought I would be willing to bet that you could pick a position and find a better player in the AFC.
Terrible that Westbrook was left out.

I know TO is an a hole, and I dont like him, but how is he skipped in this.
He leads Boldin in every category and smith in everything but yards, which he is losing by 41.
He is on a playoff team which shouldnt matter, but everything i am hearing on the sports talk radio is saying the bears are represented so well because they are a playoff team.
Why is he not on the team?

Besides the a hole factor, how about dropped passes? They can stick in people's minds, and often trump the good catches or TD catches someone makes. I've never seen TO drop as many as this season----though he was always good for a few a year.

Westbrook not being there, is a travesty. That boy is "the" all-purpose RB. He'll pickup the blitz (reasonably well given his size), he can run like very few and catch out of the backfield to rival a WRs production. What more do people want from one man????

Being an Eagles fan, I would like to see Westbrook in. But who do you leave off? Gore has had a great season, Jackson and Barber are having great seasons too.
T.O. missing must be the same reasoning that Grossman in not there. He is having a not bad season, but people remember the INT's more than the good things. Anayways, I am happy that the classless jerk T.O. didn't make it.

If you go by stats, Westbrook is probably the guy to leave off since his rushing is a bit low comparatively, even with his receptions being impressive. One area he does lead is in overall TDs (11). Eagles.com has a comment that maybe he'll get legit looks for MVP, as he was massively valuable this year.

How many RBs averaged 5+ yds/carry, counting only those who got 10+ carries/game? (ie, starters) Frankly, I'd leave Jackson off before Westbrook.
Jackson 287 carries vs Westbrook 214. 73 more carries for 144 more RuYds? 8 more catches for 16 more ReYds? Thats only an average of 2 yds per touch above and beyond Brians. (Disclaimer: I have both Westie and Jackson in multiple leagues, so it isnt a matter of my rooting "for" one of my fantasy players.) Jackson is a star no doubt. But I for one, dont think Westie has ever gotten the credit he truly deserves.

With the others that are out there, I have no problem with Romo being on the team. I also have no problem with Westbrook not being on the team, he has nice stats, but the ones that made it have nice stats also.
One guy I do have a problem with is Shawn Merriman. While he is a great player, somehow I think there should be a rule that states that if you are suspended 4 games for getting caught cheating, you don't make the Pro Bowl that year.

Based on what I see in Mike D's chart, I think the simplest explanation for Westbrook's omission is that he had the fewest rushing yards of the 4 RB's compared.
Not that it's fair or anything, but only 3 can make it so there you go.
I agree with barilko that a new provision stating drug cheats should be barred from individual accolades would be admirable.
And that includes Conference player of the week.
Maybe a 4-game-suspension isn't enough to get these players' attention. Maybe they ought to be forced to sit out a year, or be paid their salaries in rubles or something.

I read a good article before the results came out and it talked about some people being voted in (like Hasselbeck) based on past performance.
Romo has had a better season than Hasslebeck and I agree with his selection. They've both thrown passes in 10 games (Romo started 9 of the 10 games while Hasselbeck started all 10). Team record in those ten games: Romo 7-3 Hass 6-4 Yards Romo 2440 Hass 2037 TD/INT Romo 16/10 Hass 17/13 QB Rating Romo 98.4 (Highest in the NFC) Hass 78.8 (8th highest for qualified passers, 14th highest for all NFC passers)
Even comparing against Eli manning he comes out better. These are averages per game: Romo 1.60 (TD), 1.0 (INT), 244 passing yards per game (still counting 10th game too) Manning 1.57 (TD), 1.21 (INT), 219 passing yards per game. Manning has a 79.3 QB rating (7th)
Yards per attempt? Romo leads all NFC passers with 8.8 (Brees 8.2) Hass - 6.7 Eli - 6.5
Times sacked, yards lost in sacks, lost fumbles? Romo is better in all those categories too.
Even with all the numbers, the most impressive fact for me is that Romo makes the Cowboys legit NFC contenders. The Giants and Seahawks are only still in the hunt for a slot because the NFC only has a handful of solid teams. Just my opinion, but I think he was a good third choice.

Braylon Edwards for Cleveland, I suppose. Winslow had a decent season with 76 catches. Sean Jones, perhaps, on defense with his 5 picks. But no one really stood out for them this year.

Tomlinson to SD, Manning to the Colts, Brady to NE,
this is the company Westbrook keeps IMHO.
5 games over 150 yds from scrimmage with one of those going for over 200.
After Jacksons performance this past week, I'd think that Barber should have been the alternate and Westie should have made the show. Westie gets more yards per carry, more yards per catch and got into the endzone 5 times more often that Tiki this past year.

These are some things that Pat Kirwin wrote in an article on NFL.com.
Don't end the Pro Bowl voting until the last game of the year. The present setup concludes the fan voting with three games left in the season, which means close to 20 percent of the information required to make the right choice is not in the decision. Take Tom Brady, for example. He didn't make the Pro Bowl, but he has led his team to the division title and two straight wins since the voting ended, completing 44 of 62 passes with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
In the last four weeks, Tony Romo, quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, has been experiencing just what Coach Parcells tried to warn everyone about a month ago. Defenses are going to find ways to make it tough once they have enough game tape to study. In his first five starts, Romo connected on 10 touchdowns, had two interceptions and was sacked just six times. In his last four games, he has thrown just four touchdowns with seven interceptions, and as mobile as he is, he's been sacked nine times.
