Who will be the on the receiving end? Watching as the Falcons are losing to the Eagles backups, Mora will probably be out. Other names out there, Crennel, Gruden, Green, Shell.

Well I'd say Shell's gone since he got the "Vote of Confidence" from Al Davis.
I think Mora is a definate gone. He has said all the wrong things and done the wrong things too. I wouldn't be surprised the Falcons also try to shop Vick around. Schaub seems like a pretty good QB that they could build around.
If the Giants don't do anything in the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised to see Coughlin out too. He has lost that team and thier discipline on the field is aweful.
Dennis Green is gone. After that Bears game there was nothing short of winning the Super Bowl he could have done to save his job.
This isn't a head coach, but no matter what the Colts do in the playoffs I fell Defensive Coordinater Ron Meeks MUST be fired. He is a Jim Mora Sr holdover I believe and I think Dungy needs to bring in someone new to turn that D around. Plenty of capable players, they just don't have the coaching, I believe to do what they need to do.
Gruden, I think that they Bucs are regretting giving the Raiders all those trades for him 4 or 5 years ago, but I don't believe he will be gone. The D while old is still good and the offense just needs a O-Line.
Crennel needs more time, but I think the Browns can turn sometihng around. I don't really know I didn't follow them very much outside of Kellen Winslow's terrific season.

After todays game I would have to add Parcells to that list. Dallas has to be the most heartless and gutless team in the NFL right now.

You can officially say that the Cardinals have crowned Green an "ex-coach".

Couldn't help that.

Although I doubt his job is in jeopardy, I've got to wonder about Mike Shanahan, especially his decision to bench Plummer, who got them into the AFC championship game last year, in favor of a rookie, who led them out of the playoffs this year.

I wonder if some Bill Cowher-type long-term burnout isn't affecting Shanahan. Plus, he now has to deal with the tragic death of Darrent Williams.

Mora is officially gone.

I also wonder about Shanahan. If I remember correctly, his name came up in dismisal rumors before. Now with a team that some thought could go to the super bowl, not even making the playoffs? But who would replace him? It seems that there is no really big names available this year.

As far as coordinators go, def-coordinator Donnie Henderson was fired by the Lions and replaced by the coaches son-in-law, Jeff Barry. SF fired def-coordinator Billy Davis.

Doesn't Shanny have a lifetime contract?

Regardless, I have a very reliable source in Denver that says he's in no danger of losing his job. I specifically asked about blowing a playoff opportunity by starting Cutler too late in the season.

Awaiting Bill Cower's presser at 1PM. Speculation is that he will "retire" or resign.

1 more vacancy, and half the league will have changed coaches in the last two years.

Tom Coughlin gets a one year extension from the NY Football Giants instead of a pink slip.

I'm pretty shocked, to say the least.

Cards hire Whisenhunt. Why would the Steelers let him get away if he is that hot? Does this mean that Russ Grimm will be the Steelers coach?

E-man,
Steelers just interviewed Chan Gailey. Probably the front runner, if they want to buy out his Georgia Tech contract.

So, why does Grimm get all those interviews? If he is not even the front runner on an inhouse job?
My friend, a Giants fan, said that he hoped that the Giants would hire Cowher. I wonder if giving Coughlin the extension was because they are waiting for Cowher. They have the money to match what he will want.

That's exactly what I've been thinking, E.

Compensation for Cowher is much too steep. I believe he'll get paid a big pile of cash to be a talking head on one of the networks, next year. Coughlin will be canned after next year and the Chin will get the big contract from the Giants that he believes that he deserves.

He was a bust at Indiana. Maybe he only knows the pro game. I think he will be gone within two years though.
