They did!
A 1st, 2nd and 6th for a 1st and 5th!!!
They would do that to get Quinn when they just got Clemens? Man I don't know if they will take Quinn or not for that much. A Corner? I don't know.

1, 2 and 5th for 1 and 6th. Even more expensive.

They took a corner. So the Steelers will take a corner. Man I don't know how far Quinn is going to fall but it could be a ways.

Dallas at 22, or KC at 23? Is Romo the answer in Dallas? The further he falls, Chicago could be looking seriously at him.

Uh oh, they said the Browns are inquiring about trading up for Quinn.

Can they afford him though? The way I see it, it will be cheaper the longer they wait.
I knew there was no way Timmons would make it to the Colts at 32. There were some early mock drafts that had him falling that far. But Hamels would be a great pick at 32. Having a torn biceps muscle, he's flying under the radar. Still the Colts need a LB in the worst way. But couldn't pass up Hamels if he is there.

It would cost the Browns 2nd round pick and their 1st round next year which could be a top 10 pick. Would be a helluva first day for the Browns if they can pull it off.

OMG!!!! Harell went #16!!!
Guess he hit the radar afterall! I am shocked he went so high given his injury he's coming off of. It's a good pick, but relaly thought he'd fall farther. I was very excited at the prospect of him still being there at #32.

A 1, 3 and 6 to move up four spots? Are you kidding me? Well they def. won't be getting Quinn here. There was spomone above them that had the same need.

JAX might have traded down to still get Quinn. Denver, Cincy, Tennessee, and the Giants definitely don't need a QB.

Funny, all the experts were saying that after Revis and Hall, there was a big drop off in CB. Yet 2 picks after Hall, the Giants take Ross. Does that mean Hall fell or that the Giants took a reach?

Indeed. Philly radio all upset that they dealt with the devil. But I like the move. Supposedly they wanted Merriweather or Beason but both went in the two picks before them.

The Lions had to get something for Williams at this point, he was already going to be released so something is something. Also they had no use for Williams and McCown anymore so that's why the trade was made.

Comcast's Derrick Gunn said a source inside the Eagles told him the Eagles had Kolb rated higher than Brady Quinn. Save that for a few years from now......

NFL network is reporting that Randy Moss is in NE for a physical. If he passes then NE is giving Oakland a 4th round pick for him.
Talk about an aggresive offseason. NE has to be far and away the favorite to win the super bowl this season. They will have Donte Stallworth lining up across from Moss !!!

Moss makes $10M per each of the next two seasons! Ouch to the salary cap.

I love the Darrell Jackson move by the 49ers.
Moss in NE ought to be interesting. What is the over/under on Moss getting suspended? Week 2? Of course, he could see the ring and be the perfect boy scout.

You can now bring back from storage and dust off the Moss bust model for Canton, he's back on track. I'll take any over/under bet regarding suspension. He is so happy to be out of Loserville he'll be a "team player".

Anyone else think the Colts had quite possibly the worst draft ever? I am sick of people saying they did a good job at filling positions they need. They didn't draft a LB (their biggest need) until the 4th round. I am so glad they traded up to pass again on David Harris (6-2 242 Michigan ILB) and then draft an LT. I forget who was the Colts LT last year? (Answer: Pro Bowler Tarik Glenn) And the first round, "Let's draft a WR." Who was the Colts WR's last year? (Answer Pro Bowlers and future Canton enshrinees Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.) I had to listen to the idiots say how much the Colts needed a replacement to Brandon Stokely, but he played 4 games and had 8 catches last year. How much do they really NEED him when they have Dallas Clark who doubles as a slot receiver? I would be so glad if the Colts drafted Harris and Paul Posluszny (Penn St. OLB) and then have Brackett as thier third LB. Only time will tell what happens with this draft I guess. I am so glad our defense was so good last year because our offense struggled so much. [/sarcasm] If someone who is wise to the draft can correct something I am missing please do so.

Wouldn't this have to do with contracts? I know Moss has a big contract and I'm sure Jackson does as well. Seems the hit in salary cap would make teams less willing to give up higher picks that could be used on guys with less salary cap impact.

Kyle, people went absolutely beserk when Polian drafted Reggie Wayne several years ago, the defense was terrible and had gaping hole and the Colts draft a WR. That move seems to have paid off for them. WRs need a couple of years to transition to the NFL, if Gonzalez is ready in 2 years Harrison will be getting close to retirement. Ugoh will probably play mostly at G next year and will be an upgrade, plus will be ready to move to T in a couple of years as Glenn either retires or moves on.
I'm not going to criticize any Polian draft until he pulls a complete stinker or two. I'll give the guy a little credit after the Leaf/Manning and Edge/Ricky Williams choices.

I absolutely hate what Dallas Did with their draft. You have a shot at Dwayne Bowe in the 1st round but trade it for a 2nd and next year 1st. Then they turn around and give up their 2nd, 3rd and 5th for the 26th pick. Wouldnt it have been better to take more picks this season? I have to assume they could have gotten Cleveland's 2nd 3rd and possibly 4th this season (3rd overall) and done alot more damage. I like spencer, but not enough to ruin this seasons draft./

I have actually seen a couple of articles that say the Colts had one of the better drafts this past weekend. I think adding Gonzalez to that offense is going to make them even more scary, already by game 4 this year.
If only the Bills had a better weekend rating...

I agree with Kyle here. Even if they feel they needed Gonzales, why Ugoh? By all accounts he is not an NFL starter at this time. He defintely shouldn't be starting for the Colts. They are talking about grooming him for when Glenn retires, but Glenn hasn't even talked about retirement yet. Obviously they are making sure that Peyton always has protection from his backside, but man, I think he may have been there later and to give upnext year's first for him? Sure he may have went in the first next year, but you are paying him and developing him for a whole year when you could be doing that for a LB. Then you could have given up your first next year for him if need be. Maybe that's not practical but whatever.
I really have a lot of faith in Polian. His picks usually pan out and he is a great football mind. Perhaps they didn't like the guys on the board, but in the press conference they said they were aiming at Gonzo and one other guy the entire draft. Obviously he knows something we don't but I am still in shock. He's done a great job on finding diamonds so we shall see.

The Colts have a habit of drafting linemen, playing them at Guard before moving them to Tackle. I know that Diem played Guard his rookie year and I think that Glenn did also. Even if Glenn isn't thinking about retirement, he is gettin up there in age, his current contract expiring and his weight issues make the pick a bit more logical.
The Colts have had quite a bit of success of finding LB later in the draft, other than Rob Morris, were any of their other recent draft picks higher than the 2nd round? Peterson maybe?

I looked on Yahoo. He was a second rounder (36 overall). I knew he was a 1999 draft choice and looked on wikipedia, but they have him listed as "Matt Gallop, LB, Florida"
