I am looking for an AOL league. Any ideas?
It looks like I won't make it into our AA#1 and there are not enough for AA#2...
sigh...

Hey Trip,
I sent random numbers about 5:20 EST yesterday... about 5 hours later you said you still needed a set of numbers and then used Loki's and Ref's, so I'm inferring you never received it.
I sent them to you by hitting "reply" to a message I got from you re: Kafenatid... is that an outdated email address? The address was ******@midsouth.rr.com
Just want to make sure for future reference... not worried about the draft draft results or anything like that.

Didn't get it. I did receive the one where you gave me your e-mail yesterday. Checked bulk, wasn't in there either.
Just make sure you have the time to spend on checking over settings and asking questions to the other commishs to make sure things are going right.

Ref,
I still haven't officially heard if my offer has been accepted. If it is, I'll need help manipulating the AOL site to get the players and schedule set up like last year... I can't figure it out as I can't go further into the site until I actually set up a league...
Was it tricky to do?
Thanks.

Judy there really isn't an offer to accept. mjd is gone. Therefore there is commish. YOu volunteered, so you are it.
My advice: Go to the aol site and start a new league. You are the commish. Get people's emails who want to play and invite them. You already have an AA thread set up in this forum. Once you get your group together I think all teh non RIFC leagues will start posting in the leagues forum as always.
If you have issues you can email Trip or Kyle who also run RIFC Q leagues on aol's site. Also Guru has all the settings in the RIFC thread I believe.
Lots of people can help you along the way but you need to actually create the league first. Hope this helps. You also have my email if I can help you further but I'm not commishing a league this year and have no access to the settings to walk you through anything specific.

Actually there isn't a specific AA thread so you should prob start one now but don't leave off any of the names and their order. Invite the first 13 not counting yourself.

Anyone heard from Taxman? I sent him an email a couple days ago to let him know he was on the clock for the draft draft... I know we aren't timed yet and it's not "urgent", but it has been 4 days now.

I'm going away for 1 week. Most probably won't have internet access for the whole week. If time doesnt allow a wait, just skip me. I'll pick from whatever spot will be left

REF --
Any idea how to set up the schedule? by Hand? AOL won't automatically do doubleheaders. I've started one by hand...
Also, do you know how to set up the flex TE/WR? I can't figure out how to do that on the AOL commish site.
Anyone else with ideas, please let me know as well.
Thanks!

I believe you have to do the schedule manually. If you use a pre-existing league then you could probably just use the schedule that's already in there. otherwise you gotta do it by hand. it takes a while.
someone could probably give you a copy of a schedule set-up. there are byes, and you want to space out any rematches as much as possible, so there is a certain system to it.

I left Donny a message this AM about being up for the draft order pick. If he's traveling, he can call in with his position selection I suppose.
My personal life's been kinda crazy since my dad's quad bypass 2 weeks ago. Some days it seems like 2 days sincd he had it and other times it seems like a month since it happened. He's doing great so that's the best news from it all anyway.

Trip,
Any rough timeline for the schedule of events? The later the better IMM.
Last year, we began the draft on Aug 16, and completed it on Aug 30.
This year, the opening game of the NFL schedule is on Thursday, Sept. 6. In order to carry out our post-draft claiming process, we should do our best to complete the draft by Sept 2 at the absolute latest.
Although there are always those who want to start ASAP, most seem to prefer waiting as late as possible to begin the draft.
With that in mind, it would seem that we should aim to start the draft sometime in the August 15-18 timeframe.
Question: are there any managers who have availability constraints from August 15-31 that might slow down the draft? Remember that the draft software provides flexible options for setting up queues - which has been instrumental in keeping prior drafts moving along without many pauses.

I will take the #2 slot
I am sorry gang. I completly missed Da Bomb's selection 5 day's ago. I saw the request for random numbers but missed the "kick off" when I flashed through the thread this weekend. I will be vigilent from here out. I seem to do this stupid disappearing trick each year in each league that I am in. Again I apologize for not checking in each day and for holding everyone hostage.
BTW, please note my e-mail address may have changed from years past.

FYI to 65/66.
In years past the "qualifiers" have normally tended to draft at a slower pace than the RIFC. I think tends to be due to lack of setuping up queues, but I digress...
Personally, I'd suggest, as has been done in previous years, getting yourself started at least a couple days prior to the RIFC.
So right now, making sure that everyone is registered in Fanball/AOL + Kafenatid, should be a priority.

I'd rather start the draft as late as possible and then shorten the time limits for later in the draft if needed. But I should be available whatever the dates are. Aslong as people are generally around, it shouldn't matter, Qs are the best at kaf.
Please try to post your remaining draft selections in a similar format to that above.
Ref, I agree with you, but would like to see what the main league decides first. I would rather err on the side of completing the draft before the season starts though. That being said, I think I have played in a league with everyone in AAA1 before, so I am anticipating an easy draft

And myself the same as loki through Wednesday 8/15 (returning that evening). Most likely I'll be able to make picks when I get home that night, so Wednesday as far as I'm concerned we could at least start round 1 that day... since I'm guessing that I'm likely to wind up picking near the end of round 1, we could at least get the ball rolling and complete most of the first round.
So, does anyone have a schedule conflict if we were to get started with round 1 on Wednesday 8/15?

Thanks for hooking me up, Ref. I'm on the road and my access has been hit and miss.
Trip, are we using Kafenatid to draft? Also, I will be out of town until the 17th. Would love to wait to start drafting until we get a peek at the 2nd week of preseason games even if I wasn't, but I can get some queues set up if we do start before then.
FYI, in addition to my being gone through the 15th, in another thread TB mentioned that he's travelling and has limited access through the 17th. Just a heads up.
I really don't mind if we get started in the meantime, but I'd suggest there be no official "clock" running on the draft until TB gets back on the 17th.
