Kimmel banned from MNF

Sure, his comments re Theismann were rude. So what? So was Theismann! Kimmel simply said, what the rest of us were thinking. (cant wait to hear what Kimmel says after Kornheiser gets the heave ho too. Kornheiser is w-o-r-t-h-l-e-s-s on MNF.)

Didn't they ever watch either of Kimmel's shows before bringing him on? Its not like the guy is known for his football acumen and analysis...

I agree. If they wanted Jay Leno kind of jokes, they should invite Jay Leno.

Theismann later added that MNF "has become Tony Kornheiser's show."

Isn't that the truth, but it's a bad show. Neither Tirico nor Jaworski has the kind of personality that can keep Kornheiser from dominating. Ironically, Theismann did, and the decision to replace him with Jaworski was a bad one.

Kimmel looked like an idiot on the show, comletely uncomfortable and out of his element.

Wow....I actually like the announcers on MNF now. In previous years listening to MNF was horrible.

Makes you wonder if Howard Cosell is rolling over in his grave.

I agree, I think the commntators are the best they've been in a
long long time.

Kornheiser is like mold, he grows on you.

Theisman sucked. I'm glad he's gone. He was awful. He's
probably sitting at home still saying, "When I was a MNF
commentator we never ________."

I agree completely, Vee. I do remember when Kimmel was last on with Theisman and he opened up with, "Hey Joe, How's the leg?" I remember laughing pretty hard, although it was probably inappropriate.

The suits are so afraid of overly sensitive people. I was watching the game, remember Kimmel saying some stuff, didn't notice anything. Guess I wasn't paying much attention to him.

It's slightly annoying how they try to use MNF as a stage to do advertising for movies and network shows, but whatever. I don't know what they expected from Kimmel. He was never shy about offending anyone when he was doing sketches on the pre-game shows a few years back. Maybe none of the suits saw him do his thing before.

I don't mind Kornheiser. He's funny at times. Like his attitude.

I remember years ago, I think maybe even before The Man Show, when Fox had Kimmel on a pre-game show where he had on a fake bald cap and was imitating Terry Bradshaw. He alluded to having sex with a goat.

But, it was Fox...

I'm not a big Kimmel fan but I didn't think it was a big deal...
However I REALLY like the broadcast team; I'm old as dirt (51) and have watched since it's inception, and think this is the best team , (with the possible exception of John and Al)and it's not even close, since the halycon days of Frank, Dandy Don and Cosell. Theisman was pretty bad.

50 here SH, so you aint got me by much. Don, Howard and frank were far and away, the best ensemble ever present in the booth.

Kornheiser I think is just as horrid as Theismann was. Cant stand the guy.

I liked Cosell (though I was just a kid). Thing is, Cosell would be banned just like Kimmel if he was still around. The networks wouldn't risk letting him open his mouth for fear of offending someone. They don't mind annoying us with lame music, fireworks, and obvious plugs for movies/tv shows though...
