Standard H2H 12 team league

TD = 6 Points
Rush/Rec 10 yards = 1 point
Pass Yards 30 = 1 point
INT/Fumble Lost = -2 Points

We start the following

QB
WR
WR
WR
RB
RB
WR/RB
TE
K
D

I currently sit at 8-2 first place in standings and points

6 Teams make playoffs with 1 and 2 seeds first round bye

Playoffs are Weeks 14,15,16

Here is my roster

QB: Derek Anderson, Jon Kitna, Eli Manning
RB: Brian Westbrook, Marshawn Lynch, Rudi Johnson, Kenny Watson, Selvin Young, Ron Dayne
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Greg Jennings, Bernard Berrian
TE: Jeremey Shockey
K: Nick Folk
D: Chicago Bears

Ok I have 3 pretty good QB's with Anderson being a stud.

Im trying to move a QB and upgrade at WR which is my obvious weekness.

I have a deal out there that is close to being done hopefully

I would send Jon Kitna, Greg Jennings, and Jeremey Shockey. I would receive Terrell Owens and Jason Witten.

Looks like Im getting a great deal here and its vetoable, but the guy sending me Owens has Griese and Cutler at QB so he is terrible there.

Now I have a couple of questions. What do you guys think about the Cowboys? Do you think they will be resting there guys in week 15 and 16? Im kind of worried doing this deal then getting screwed in the playoffs.

What does everyone think about Rudi Johnson? Think he will return to form in time for the playoffs in this League? Or will Watson and him be in a time share? Im worried about that and starting the wrong guy when it really matters.

Berrian looks like a weekness, but if Grossman is starting again for the Bears his stock is alot higher with him then Griese. Berrian seems like Grossmans only target that he looks for.

Looking at matchups for week 15 if no trade is made (Im almost guaranteed to get a first round bye in this league)

Derek Anderson vs Buf
Greg Jennings vs STL
Larry Fitzgerald vs NO
Berrian vs Min
Westbrook vs Dallas
Marshawn Lynch vs Cle
Rudi Johnson vs SF
Shockey vs Washington
Bears D vs Min

Im liking those matchups they seem pretty solid.

There are a couple of solid teams in this league that I have to look out for. Here are their rosters

Team: Cobra Kai

QB: Peyton Manning
WR: Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes, Ronald Curry, Javon Walker, Aaron Moorehead
RB: Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs, Mac Jones-Drew, Ryan Grant, Deangelo Williams
Te: Chris Colley, Dallas Clark
K: Rackers
DEF: Patriots

Team Cobra Kai is also 8-2 been neck and neck with me all year. I fear his RB depth. Thankfully he has no stud, but there is alot of options there. He is rather week at WR, but Moss is as good as they get. Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning

Team Name: HaywoodJaBlowme

QB: Jay Cutler, Damon Huard, David Garrard
WR: Kevin Curtis, Steve Smith (the good one), Jerricho Cotchery, Shaun Mcdonald
RB: Ladanian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson(the great one), Edgerin James, Chester Taylor, Michael Pittman
TE: Tony Gonzalez
K Graham
DEF: Baltimore and Indy

This team is on the bring of the playoffs currently the 6th seed. The LT and Peterson combo is very frighting. if they both are heathly that could be a hell of a combo to play in the playoffs. Edgerrin James is also no slouch. Steve Smith if he ever gets a WR makes this tema very very dangerous. Im hoping he doesnt make the playoffs :)

Anyway those are the two teams that are my top competion I think. There are a couple other teams obviously, but these are the top 2.

So basically my question to you guys. Is what do you think of my chances. Should I try to get a deal done? if so what should I look for?
This is a big money league and would be a nice payout if I can take it.

If anyone feels like responding please respond ASAP as the trade deadline is Friday

Thanks in Advance JT

I do the tarde if I'm you. Shockey has been a bit disappointing all year, till last week. His stock rose to its high and this makes it a solid time to swap him.

Witten is Romos fave safety valve when TO is covered up. I like the idea of having TO and Witten on the same fantasy squad.

I dont see Dal going into "coast" mode. They could of course, but I doubt it. TO is FAR too competitive, and they have both Jones/Barber as RBs. No need to coast when the RBBC is comprised of 2 solid players. They just paid Romo a BOATLOAD of money. You dont do that, then sit a guy.

There's something to be said for homefield advantage for the Cowboys, too. Homefield advantage could ride on the outcome of the Thanksgiving Day game versus Green Bay, and the Cowboys have never won in Green Bay. Both teams will put it all one the line on Thanksgiving, the Packers to force the roadtrip (in January!) and the Cowboys to avoid it.

Which ever team wins, they'll have 1 game in hand with the tie-breaker should both teams win out. If the Cowboys drop a December game with homefield advantage, they would be pressing to win out to keep home field. Should Green Bay win next Thursday, the Cowboys would hope for two Green Bay missteps and push to win out to regain homefield.

Not that your trade can wait another week and a half...

I would definitely do that tarde if I was you. It shouldn't be vetoable, unless your league-mates are the kind that abuse veto power in order to protect their own teams.

Rudi Johnson is horrible this season. Watson has been great every time he hits the field but Cinci seems reluctant to take the job away from Rudi so far. Lot of question marks in your backfield. Didn't Lynch leave Sunday's game for some reason? Westbrook is injury prone. Selvin Young is nice to have around but isn't a guaranteed start.

The Cowboys may need to play their starters to wrap up home field advantage over the Packers, and they'll also want to keep them tuned up for the playoffs. But who knows? Maybe it would be best to keep Shockey over Whitten. Especially when you consider Plaxico's recent performances. Dallas has plenty of receiver options, NY doesn't.

Something tells me that Peterson shouldn't be feared so much now. I know they say his injury isn't season ending, but the Vikings are 3-6, last place. Seems to me the wise thing to do would be to put AP on the shelf in hopes that he'd be 100% in time for 2008 camps.

EXACTLY what I was saying last night in conversation on the various injured layers and their current staus. There is NO reason, none at all, for Minn to take even the slightest chance and bring AP back onto the field before a complete healing has occured. Sever sprain takes 6-8 weeks to heal. I'd have to think a torn ligament would need the same. That will make it Jan. In my book, were it my call, his season would be over.

Yeah, and they signed Chester Taylor to a 4 year contract worth around 20 million including bonuses less than a year ago. Could be a great chance to give him some playing time and rebuild his potential trade value.

I have another question in this league. There is a trade out there between 2 teams. I am the commish and allow or veto trades they are not voted on unless I am in the deal. I usually deals go through as I feel it takes alot to veto something, but this one is probally the closest ever for me to veto. What do you guys think

Team A: Roy Williams

Team B: Ryan Grant
Dallas Clark

Team A's roster

QB: Brees
WR: Williams, Brandon Marshall, D.J. Hackett, Crayton, Chris Henry, Laveranues Coles, Roddy White
RB: Maroney, Foster, Thomas Jones, Maurice Morris
TE: Vernon Davis

Team B Roster
QB: Peyton Manning
WR: Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes, Ronald Curry, Javon Walker, Aaron Moorehead
RB: Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs, Mac Jones Drew, Deangelo Williams, Ryan Grant
TE: Dallas Clark, Chris Cooley

I think Team A is getting raped here. Am I wrong to think so? Or am I blinded by Team B's team getting better seing as they are my top competion in this league?

Any Thoughts?

It's up to the two teams involved to determine whether they are helping their team or not. If they're both attempting to improve their team then there is no reason to veto. As long as there is no collusion, then you have to stay out of the way. Your opinion on player values should affect your own team's performance, not theirs.

from what I can see. team A feels like he has at least 3 startable wr's other than Williams. He's close to being in big trouble at RB, and with SF's horrible offensive performance Monday night, he must feel desperate at TE. Grant was great vs. the Vikings, and Clark is definitely better than any TE that would be found on the waiver wire.

Team B has depth at RB and TE and needs a WR3. To me this trade makes a lot of sense. Roy Williams is great and all, but the Lions spread the ball around a lot. His highest yardages since week 3 are 77 yds and 53 yds, and his 2 td's on Sunday were his first scores since week 3.

agree with Holt. Anytime you give up 1 for 2, you're not getting as good a player in either slot, as the one you're giving up is in his slot. Thats just the way it goes.

I also agree with you that B is getting the better end of the deal, but that paerspective could/would change in a heartbeat, if Grant repeats last weeks performance again this week.
