Posted by: Great One

Anyone called into Mike and the MadDog on WFAN yet this year and given it a shot?
Still 4 sets of tickets to give away just by answering 4 Super Bowl related trivia questions right.

You can watch live on YES Network for those not familiar or go to WFAN website to listen live

They repeat a lot of questions... so maybe we can brainstorm here.

1st and last USC Trojan to score a Super Bowl TD?
A last name shared by Super Bowl MVP and NBA Finals MVP.

I had it on yesterday.

One question I heard (and I think I am remembering it right) was Who scored the first and last touchdown by a Georgia Bulldog in the SB?

The past couple of years when I was still living in NY I actually had a list of all his questions over the years and even the audio. I guess I deleted because I'm not seeing it on my hard drive. Although it could be on my desktop hard drive that's been sitting unused for 2 years.

BTW, I suspect they wouldn't like it if I won tix seeing as though I live 20 mins from the stadium in Phoenix and wouldn't need their airfare, hotel, and I don't like either team. :)

FYI to those who want to give it a shot - phone number is (718)937-6666
I googled it and came up with some other questions discussed elsewhere.

Safety in SB XXV? George Martin
First TD in SB XXI? Zeke Mowatt
TD's in SB XXV? OJ and Baker.
3 teams that defeated '90 Giants - Eagles, Niners, Bills.

Halftime score of Jets/Colts SBIII = 7-0

I would love to go this year being a Giant fan. But there is no way I'd come close on these trivia questions.

By the way, FYI, from NFL.com FAQ

How to buy Super Bowl Tickets via NFL lottery (1% of SB tickets each year are sold this way, 700 this year).

How can I buy Super Bowl tickets?
The only method the NFL has to distribute tickets to the public is through a random drawing. There is no other way for the general public to purchase tickets. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents.

Entries for the random drawing are accepted between Feb. 1 and June 1 of the year preceding the game in question. All ticket requests must be sent via certified or registered mail. Those selected in the random drawing will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets.

Requests for Super Bowl XLII, to be played Feb. 3, 2008 in Glendale, Ariz., will be accepted beginning Feb. 1, 2007. They should be sent to:

Super Bowl Random Drawing
P.O. Box 49140
Strongsville, OH 44149-0140

Please note that only one request per address is accepted. All duplicate requests will be disregarded.

The problem with this method (aside from the odds) is that a year like this with the Giants in it, I'd love to go even though ticket, air fare and hotel, rental car, it may come to like a $1000 weekend. Pretty steep BTW but perhaps worth a once in a lifetime event. In other years, not as much interest to be there live for that expense without a rooting interest.

Face value this year I hear is like $700. The cheapest broker amount for ticket only I saw was around $3800, most wrap the tickets with a whole tour/charter/banquet type function for $6000 minimum. I'm just in a different class than the people who would not flinch at this outlay.

Without looking anything up Terrell Davis obviously scored a TD. If Ward was a Bulldog then he would be the last and not Davis.

Oh, another one was "Who was the last player (maybe QB) to have a SB victory be his last game?" John Elway

a guy just missed the 4th question. Here it is....

"Two SB MVPS share the same last name as 2 NHL Con Smyth MVP winners. Name them."

He guessed Glen and Otis Anderson. That was wrong.

Anyone know what the moneylines are for the game? I am seeing spreads in the 12-13 range... I'm wondering how much I'd win if I just put $100 on the Giants straight up for the heck of it. I'd predict about $700.

yeah, i saw all of it today and wasn't impressed with the quality of questions. That contest was Chris' baby. He left and so did the quality of the contest.

It took me less than 10 internet seconds to find the answer to any audio or regular question they asked.

FYI, I heard Francesa mention on air earlier this week that there is an unofficial web site message board (here) where the questions and answers are posted. A caller had said that the winners were cheating and Mike basically replied that he had no problem with callers using any resource they could find.
