Hey guys...

Other than the usual sites (Stubhub, Ebay), does anyone have connections or ideas on how to snag 4 tickets to the Steelers game against San Diego on November 15th?

Let me know Pittsburgh fans!

Heading up to Pittsburgh Saturday morning, looking forward to a good game against the Chargers!

Anyone have an recommendations on where to get a good steak in the area?

They got your standard chains (Morton's, Ruth Chris) and Nick & Tony's is pretty good. If I could recommend anything, though, I'd say go to Fathead's on the Southside...great beers and lunch fare, and everytime I head up to Pittsburgh (4-5 times/year), I make sure to stop there.

There should only be one:

Fathead's

Don't let any knockoffs trick you!

Yeah, when I type Fatheads into Google Maps, there are two...I see the one you are talking about, but the names are very similar, maybe they opened a second location?

If we get a chance, we will check that place out.

Maybe there is a store that focuses on selling those Fathead wall stickers.

Back from the trip. Pittsburgh is a very nice city. Heinz Field looks cheap and would rate below average for me, especially considering how new it is. I guess when you are being compared to Lambeau, you are in tough company...haha

The fans in Pittsburgh are right up there though, and considering the refs were doing everything in their power to ensure Pittsburgh lost, we were pretty loud in our displeasure.

San Diego fans were taunted, but nothing more than light hearted jabs, at least from where we were sitting and tailgating.

Fatheads looked fun, but we didn't realize that a 2.5 hour wait for a table on a Saturday night was pretty standard, so we ended up in another bar down the street...lol.

All in all, we were disappointed with the roads around the stadium and the stadium itself, but very impressed with the sightlines and the fans.

Glad to hear it, barilko. I am a big Steelers fan and have been to a couple games up there and I really like the stadium. But, as you allude to, it may be more because of the atmosphere/fans than the actual stadium. I don't think there is anything much better than going to a football game in the snow.

Sorry to hear about your Fathead's experience, and I should of warned you about the lines at night. I tend to go around lunch/afternoon, when there still is a 30 minute wait, but it's certainly worth it. What bar did you end up hanging out at? I used to live right on East Carson Street in college, so, I know the area pretty well.

We went to two...I can't remember the name of one of them, but the other was named something like South Side 86? Just a couple doors down from Fatheads. Fatheads did look like a lot of fun inside though!!!

Yeah, the experience was great inside the stadium, and we loved the snow. Everybody loved the snow.

from the blog... Heart Attack on Wax Paper
Pittsburgh is famous for many things: steel mills, Kennywood Park, bridges, rivers, the Incline, THE STEELERS, but also this:The Primanti Brothers sandwich. For those of you unfamiliar to this culinary masterpiece, it is a sandwich comprised of meat, cheese, coleslaw, and frenchfries, which is traditionally served on a piece of wax paper.

And even better after a Steeler win I presume.

I have always been "meh" on Primanti's. Don't get me wrong, it is great at 2 in the morning after a night of drinking, but it never really struck as really good food. Great cole slaw on the sandwiches, though (vinegar based - no mayo), but the meat on the sandwiches isn't really top notch.

I always thought Fathead's was Pittsburgh best kept secret, but seeing as there is a 2.5 hour wait on weekends, maybe it's not a secret anymore.
