ESPN reports Gene Upshaw, head of the NFL Players Association and a Hall of Fame guard, has passed away at the age of 63. He died from pancreatic cancer.
ESPN extends our condolences to his family and friends.

Ref - apparently, almsot no one did. he was diagnosed less than a week ago.
