Man, those Colts don't only have horse shoes on their helmets, they have them stuck up their butts this season. Phantom pass interferece call helps keep a drive where they score, and the umpire throws a pick on Cromartie on the 4th down pass to Harrison.

Looks like I'm out. Since deepsnapper plays Bags one of them is gauranteed the 7th slot, which is the only slot I can capture unless I score something like 400 points this week. My consolation is finishing .500, something I've never finished under in RIFC or qualifying.

Remember that only the top 6 slots are awarded based on W/L record. The 7th and 8th slots are based on total points.

I've been disappointed by my running backs performance this season. Injury after injury has decimated their production. Maybe McFadden can recover from his turf toe(s) and contribute vs KC tomorrow & Addai can get more touches vs the Browns.

The youth of McFadden & Felix Jones (IR) sure hasn't paid off with the "need for speed" out of the backfield I'd hoped for. lol

Injuries are part of the game though. That's what makes it interesting.

I can't believe the way things are shaking out today. It's such a close race for the final four slots in the playoffs. looks like Bags and Holt are in as long as Johnson and Jones don't tank.

unless I'm mistaken, dabomb has now outscored deepsnapper, and I need 11 points or so from Johnson and Jones to pass deepsnapper and about 15 to pass dabomb for the 7 seed. don't remember the exact numbers now.

The top six seeds will be the teams at 15-11 or better. Seeds 7-8 are by points, and in a close race, Holt gets the 7th seed (at 11-15 W/L), and Da Bomb takes the final spot (13-13).

Tree is the odd man out, sporting a 14-12 record, but 150+ points out of the #8 seed point total.

Deepsnapper gets the "close but no cigar" award, falling 10 points shy of the 8th spot.

I'll set up the championship and consolation brackets shortly, and then recap the add/drop rules for the playoffs.

Final standings, seedings, and brackets are posted here.

The Championship bracket will not be reseeded each round. Single elimination.

For the Consolation bracket, the losing team with the best score in round 1 will advance, along with the three winners. Matchups will shift only if necessary to prevent a duplicate pairing in the second week.

Players at the primary skill positions (QB, RB, WR) and team defenses may not be added for any reason during the playoffs. Free agents at these positions will be locked out after the final regular season game. You may drop a player at one of these positions, but once dropped, that player cannot be added later.

Players at the other positions (TE, PK, IDP) may be added or dropped according to normal regular season guidelines, subject to playoff claiming priorities, if applicable.

If a playoff game ends in a tie score, the team with the better seed shall advance.

Teams which are not still active in the Championship playoffs may not make any transactions - adds or drops - even if they are still competing in the Consolation bracket.

All add/drop restrictions musty be administered manually, so please pay attention!

Claims and waivers will operate normally for teams eligible to make moves. Priorities will initally be reset based on playoff seed, with the top seed getting the top priority. Thereafter, throughout the playoffs, priorities will again adjust only when a claim is awarded.

ugh.

what a weird fantasy football season. i got left out in this league, in another i tied for the last playoff spot but lost out on points, and in a third i was in the top six in scoring, but didn't make the playoffs - while someone who scored over 300 less points than me did!

It was a bad week for me to post a sub 100 score. Props to everyone for making the playoffs.

I guess it wasn't such a great idea go try a "different" draft strategy this time. It was fun playing everyone in any event.

On to the consolation bracket!

that's rough deepsnapper. I figured it was just me and dabomb fighting it out for points. I just assumed you'd hang on to one of the point slots. amazing that after 13 weeks that most of the league is so tightly bunched in overall points.

Interesting how the top 2 scorers in PF end up getting matched off against one another to start the playoffs. Should be a tough matchup.

Even though I beat you twice, I'm not looking forward to our match up IAC.

It should be a close one. I have a feeling that it might come down to who benches the wrong player.

2nd through 4th places were a repeat from last year regular season finish with IAC dropping from 1st to 5th. For some more deja vu, Holt and I are reprising our super bowl matchup in the first round.

There weren't any scoring changes this year, were there? Interesting that total points were down about 4% from last year. Wonder what may have caused that - more RBBC? the return to earth of the Pats O?

Since I'm sure someone would point it out eventually - interesting that the 3rd seeded team is the lowest scoring playoff team :)

I find it interesting that of the 8 playoff teams, 6 of them drafted in slots 1-8, while Fugazi and LetterJ got into the playoffs from the 10/11 spot. Maybe this adds a little more credibility to the importance of drafting from the "early" spots.

Also, to maybe make Electro feel a little bit better... maybe that explains why his team did so poorly this year (drafting from the 14th spot).

I lost Tom Brady in the first quarter of the first game of the season. My playoff appearance had absolutely nothing to do with my draft position, for the record. I probably only have 6 or 7 of my originally drafted players left on my team.

Only 4? That's nothing compared to how many times I've mentioned it in conversation. I also had Chris Carpenter when he went down in the first baseball game of the season. I filed formal complaints with the Fantasy Sports Gods and never got a reply. Did I also mention I've now lead RIFC in points against two years in a row now? :D

Oh, and with that Bryant TD I think I'm out of the playoffs. What a rotten week.

148: Consolation bracket is just for kicks. Gives the non-playoff teams something to do after the regular season. But there are no rewards - other than the satisfaction of a being one of the two teams to end the season on a winning streak.

Yeah, that's a pretty big mistake to make, but... even having an active RB in wouldn't have given him the win over Slackjawed.

I just managed to squeak into the finals myself, and felt that THE major turning point in my matchup the week, was the defensive matchup between Pit vs Bal. The swing in that game, gave huge implications for Da Bomb and me. The game wasn't televised here in my region, but when I saw Holmes fumble the ball away on his own 10yd line on the NFL gamecast, I got pretty anxious. Roeth's 92yd td drive at the end of the game bailed me out of a tight spot.

that was a great game to watch (pitt/bal).

Slackjaw will most likely win, but Smith32 still has McNabb (vs CLE) and D'Qwell Jackson left. It's possible he could get 45 from those two. highly doubtful but it's possible. The 9 points McLain put up would have at least given him a shot.

Hey Congrats Smith32! I remember 2.5 years ago I was leading in the RIBC, then I too went on my honeymoon... baseball being a day-trading type league, I was in 3rd when I got back from Mexico, and just couldn't do anything to get caught back up (That I believe was the last time I opted to play in the RIBC).

Thanks! I should have had one of those ESPN cell phones so that I could have been riding horseback on the beach with my wife while setting my lineup, like that guy in the commercial.

At least I lost by more than 9 pts, so I don't feel bad for not getting a lineup-sitter.

Yeah, Congrats Smith32. I saw Hillis in your lineup ahead of time, but figured you'd throw in one of your Raven's backs.

And it took me five minutes to figure out why Houston wasn't showing up in my lineup... I knew QB, RB, and WR's were off limits, but didn't realize team defenses were also restricted. One of these days I'll learn to fully read the rules.

thanks for the congrats fellas.

Tough break yet again, IAC. I was hoping the Carolina D would put things away for me Sunday night, but no such luck - it did make a much more dramatic MNF game. I watched those last couple of Bears possessions with a close eye on Olsen, Kampman, and my guy, Collins. There was one play where Olsen caught a ten yard pass but it was negated by a Collins' tackle - only in fantasy...
