I have a feeling I'm going to need punt return TDs from Ginn and Jones to go along with a McCluster kickoff return TD to have a chance this week. It looks like McFadden will still be out, but ds is getting AP back this week. I hope I can make it interesting!

It looks like it does come down to DST afterall. A very good performance by the Falcons DST and while the even better performance of the Seahawks DST is sitting on Deepsnappers bench. ouch.

Pete seems to have Roy's number, unless Crabtree were to go off tonight.

The Texans put up a stinker this week. Guess I should've been happy to make it this far. Good luck to the Raiders and Cowboys.

Scoring adjustments made and match-ups set for championship week!

Best of luck to Doug, who is going for his first title, against Peter N, who is going for the first repeat title since I did it in our first two seasons.

I picked a good week to have my 2nd highest scoring total of the season. Tom Brady has been the man for me all year again, but honorable mention this year goes out to kicker David Akers. I can't believe I said it, but Akers is number two in points scored for me.

Good for Akers. Reid made a nasty emotional decision to release him last year...

Nicely done Pete!

I had Brady and Akers on my RIFC AAA team this year, and they were 1st and 3rd in scoring. It got me jack and squat. ;)

Congrats Peter N! Man, I was really liking my odds headed into this championship, but the cards just didn't fall my way. 2nd out of 24 teams ain't too shabby, but will have to try and pick it up again next season and see if I can't finally win this thing! :) Again, congrats!

Thanks for the props everyone. Its hard to believe I managed to pull off another wild playoff run, but thanks go out to Tom Brady. He was the man and my MVP. David Akers gets an honorable mention as well. I lost run DMC early on, but still managed to find a way to make it happen. I'm looking forward to next year. To win in fantasy football, you need plenty of luck and I'm evidence in that fact.

Hi Peter,

You are welcome. Do you recall that I traded Brady and R White to you for Donovan and DJax in my first year. Wow, that worked out for me... NOT! Although I actually got to the SuperBowl that first year and then the Jints DST went AWOL...

Here is the official 2009 announcement:

Trade Announcement
Dallas Cowboys send Donovan McNabb and Desean Jackson to Arizona Cardinals for Tom Brady and Roddy White.

Judy to confirm.

Regardless, Congrats Pete. It is so much harder to win at football than baseball...

Do we want to take advantage of this?:

Our amazing offer for Commissioner ends tonight. Renew your league today and you'll get:
$30 off the price! — That's $149, or less than $13 per person in a 12-team league.
A FREE draft kit — Usually $24.99, this kit includes everything for an offline draft including a giant wall chart, draft stickers and a marker.
It takes less than 1 minute to renew. Don't wait. This deal ends tonight, so renew now!

From my e-mail: the offer has been extended until Thursday night:

"Missed out on the Save $30* and Receive a Free Draft Kit Offer?

Don't worry, we have extended this offer until tomorrow night, June 28. This will be your absolute last chance to save $30 and receive a free poster-sized draft board.

The deadline for this offer has already passed once — don't let it pass you by again! Guarantee your league's savings today. It takes less than a minute to renew."

I have been largely out of pocket for awhile and am just seeing the league today for the first time. Looks like they finally put some time into their structure which was so user-UNfriendly. Looks like they may have helped with commish tools as well. I'm going to look at running the draft on CBS as well.

StL Cards, our treasurer and original member has said that he will be unable to play anymore. He will go through and send all monies on file to Judy. This is a huge loss to our league and me, personally as he helped me in so many ways. This league takes a lot of time to run. Scheduling alone is no fun at all. If we can figure out the draft on CBS, that would be a huge step for us.

Ref you at least need to play even if we need to split the load up and take some stuff off your plate. Maybe we can cut down on some of the historical record keeping?

Whats the most time consuming in the pre-season? Making the schedule? I think we should be able to assist with that.

But even if you can't commish anymore, I think we all would want you to at least participate in running a team... maybe less work will rejuvenate your interest and enjoyment instead of it feeling like a job.

Wholly Hannah! I am very sad to hear Kirk has stopped playing, but he's mentioned it before in the past. Your presence & personality will be missed most buddy.

But Ref? I've known you've said you've were busy last year, but you're synonymous with G24 (and G20 Baseball & Football). I've never imagined you not playing!

Maybe use something like Draftime to run the draft? The issues with that is keepers being taken out of the database and drafted to each team, but that something we control if we start earlier!

Ref, I think you should play, on the assumption that your desire to play will most likely come back. You said you're not sure; don't drop unless and until you are sure.

364: Yeah DS, but there is a lot of stuff going on.

1. My RL is so busy right now. Good things are happening and at times I just won't be available.
2. This game takes a lot of time to run--esp. during setup but also you have to be timely like approving trades in time for the freeze and being able to put in waiver claims and pickups etc.
3. My integrity has been called into question and I don't think anyone should commish a league when that has happened.
4. Apparently I am a slick, underhanded, snake-oil salesman that screws people over--using the commish pulpit to do it--when it comes to trading and it hurts the league. Oh yeah, don't forget I have to approve all trades.
5. I am not listened to. As a commish if you can't lay out and communicate effectively so that everyone understands how things work, you shouldn't commish. Even the new comish in baseball STILL has no concept of how their new rules are going to work and others do not as well. Now it makes sense why so many were quick to poo-poo my issues. You need to have someone who is better in that respect. Don't have to agree with me, but have to have a complete understanding what is going on.
6. TIME. Why would I take so much time away from family and rl when all I am going to catch is flack? Frankly, I don't want or need the drama and to make the time to do all this stuff and then subject myself and others to the kind of garbage some of us have been through certainly isn't time well spent.

These leagues were set up with the concept of HIGH activity. EVERYONE has motivation to make changes and trades for the current or FUTURE seasons. The rules are applied fairly to all members--not jsut the squeaky wheels. People who make trades have often deeply researched their deals, yet the teams who trade for the future are often attacked personally w/o much research at all if they aren't an equal trade using today's numbers. Discussion is fine. But the attacks make people not want to be active or even play at all.

I have communicated with several people about this and I will help get things set up so everyone isn't screwed over because they don't know how to do it, but frankly the enjoyment of these leagues for me has been all but zapped.
