Now that the managers for the 2012 RIFC have been set, it's time to organize the qualifying leagues.
Once again, I expect to have two AAA leagues and one AA league, each with 14 managers.
Managers in the AAA leagues will be prequalified based on last year's experience. In general, prequalifiers are the RIFC teams who were not invited to return to the RIFC, plus all playoff teams in last year's qualifying leagues, plus the top non-playoff team in each of those leagues. Here is the (alphabetical) list of the 28 managers who are pre-qualified for a AAA league:

Rather than setting up a waiting list now, I'm going to wait until the middle of next week to see how the responses are going. At that time, I'll establish a process for a waiting list and for AA league signups. So if you are not on the list above, please check back next Wednesday for further instructions.

If these AAA spots go unfilled, I'll promote the next best teams from last year to fill those spots.
Meanwhile, I just emailed an invitation to all other managers from last year, asking them to join the AA league. I've given them until August 1 to respond. Starting August 2, we'll fill any remaining AA openings first-come, first served.
If you participated in a qualifying league last year and you weren't in the AAA invitation list, check your email (the address you registered at myfantasyleague.com last season). If you've changed email addresses (or can't find that email), feel free to send me an email at davehall@rotoguru2.com

Hey guru, since the AAA and AA leagues typically get their rules from the main RIFC I've been following that discussion for rules changes. For whatever its worth I'd be against blind bids and think the current WW system is fine. I'd have no problem with the change to the tie breakers to use points over H2H records.

RIFC AA League signups are now available to anyone, first come first served.
So far, we have 5 managers:

Toral
Da Bomb
Valkyrie
goldcoach
Here are the basic parameters of this league:
1. 14 managers. The regular season is NFL weeks #1-13, followed by an 8-team, single elimination playoff during weeks 14-16.
2. Rosters are 24 players, of which 15 start each week. Seven of the starting slots are individual defensive players (IDP). Subject to several pending changes, the rules will similar to these: 2011 rules (see post 2).
3. The league will be hosted at myfantasyleague.com. RotoGuru will pay the cost of the league hosting. However, to help defray the cost, a $5 voluntary donation is suggested.
4. The league draft will take place online at myfantasyleague.com, using a "slow draft" approach. The draft will likely require 7-10 days to complete, meaning that you should be prepared to draft 2-4 players per day. The scheduling of the draft will be established by the commissioner, but you should generally be available during the final two weeks of August.
5. You must provide a working email address, and you must be responsive at that address. If you sign up and then cannot be reached, your commissioner may drop you from the league. If there are times that you will not be reachable by email during August, you must notify your commissioner in advance so that alternate arrangements can be made, if necessary.
6. You are expected to remain active in your league throughout the season.
7. The winner of the league playoffs will be invited to join the top RIFC league in 2013. Teams making the playoffs will likely be invited to move up to a AAA league next year.

[9] - Just to clarify, Slowhand is filling the reserved AAA slot. So both AAA leagues are now filled, and no one will be bumped up from AA.

@Guru, I miss the golden age. You still have a lot of great info on here though. A lot of people that left don't know what they are missing. Would be nice to have the golden days back though. I am sure you agree on both financial and friendly side.

If there are managers in other RIFC league who would like to run a second team, we will accept them into the AA league. The caveat is that if this is your second team, if you win the AA league you will not automatically advance to the RIFC next year.
