Sortable stats and Assimilator are now up for the 2012 FireLeague Salary Cap football game at http://fireleague.com. This is the successor game to the salary cap games developed and hosted by Smallworld-TSN-RotoHog-Fastpoint.

Given the relative lack of interest in the FireLeague baseball game, I am not planning to set up a RotoGuru league - unless there is explicit interest mentioned in this thread.

Why are the figures for total FLP in the guru sortable stats different from those of the fireleague site?

Because theirs appear to be incorrect for some players.

The points I show are the ones that I actually calculated game by game during 2011. I'd expect a few minor discrepancies due to stat corrections after the fact.

But many players show dramatic differences. So I took a detailed look at a few players.

For example, Arian Foster rushed for 1224 yards, with 10 rushing TDs. Fireleague shows 1509 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs. His receiving stats are similarly overstated.

Aaron Rodgers passed for 4637 (or 4643) yards and 45 TDs. Fireleague shows 4907 passing yards and 47 TDs.

Oddly enough, their stats for LeSean McCoy seem to be correct.

You can see the game-by-game details for each player's 2011 points in my individual player pages (click on any name in the sortable stats, and then click back to 2011 history). Similar detail is not available at the Fireleague site - so a detailed reconciliation is not possible.

I got a response about this from FireLeague. It turns out that their stats for 2011 include playoff games. So that's the source of the discrepancy.

They are also missing stats for all rookies in 2011 (e.g., Cam Newton). That's due to a data continuity discrepancy that they decided not to bother solving.
