Arrested, and released by the Pats. Not a good day.

Until he has his day in court and we find out what he is charged with, all we have is speculation.
But, handing your cell phone over in pieces and destroying your home monitoring system doesn't look good. And very possibly could result in obstruction charges for just those actions.

Investigators now believe Hernandez killed Lloyd because he was going to the cops with proof that Hernandez was involved in a double murder in 2012 which had been unsolved.

Like were they aware that he was involved in murder from a year ago? I hate the Pats, but I don't think that Robert Kraft would have allowed something like that to have happened.
It will be interesting to see if they handle future cases in a similar manner.
And I can't wait to see Ray Lewis as an analyst covering the situation.

I agree. That is certainly something that will damage a team. And the Pats have never demonstrated much player loyalty--I'd bet they dropped him as soon as they could.

Was watching the NFL network a few days ago before he was charged and they said that his guaranteed contract did NOT have a must practice clause that almost every contract has. That means he has to pay all of his guaranteed money. The only thing they will be able to not pay him for is his workout bonuses. I seriously doubt the Pats knew about his involvement in the murder a year ago as it sounds the Police didn't even know--or at least had no proof. I did read that police have him on tape saying that Odin just can't keep his mouth shut or something before he picked him up and allegedly killed him. I don't understand how they have this recording though.

perhaps they recovered audio from the home surveillance equipment that he tried to destroy?

Read today that he is also wanted for his alleged role in a 2007 double murder in Gainesville, FL. *Mindblown*

I am not sure 'wanted" is the right word. This is what eyewitnesses told police at the time. Hernandez was there and was questioned originally apparently He was a freshman and only 17 and since he was a minor his info was redacted.
...Shooter was a "Hawaiian" or "Hispanic" male who had a large muscular build, stood about 6-foot-3 or 6-foot-4, weighed about 230 or 240 pounds and had a lot of tattoos. Cason said there was also a black male with the shooter, and Cason identified the black male as Reggie Nelson, a former Florida Gator who was a rookie with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"As they were waiting for the light to change, the Hawaiian football player and Reggie Nelson walked up to their car on the right side," according to the police report, which cited what Cason told detectives. "Then without saying a work [sic], the Hawaiian pointed a small handgun in the front right window and fired five quick shots. Cason saw [Corey] Smith slump over with blood coming out of the back of the head, at which time the Hawaiian and Nelson took off running towards McDonald's."
