Did we end up moving the deadline? Are we past the new one too?

Nothing was adjusted. I'd be up for a vote on if we extend to next weeks games, given there is one more week of bye weeks.
Anyone against proposing it at least?

this is absurd. by the time we actually put this thing to vote, we'll be missing the 2022 deadline.
Let's get this changed now for the betterment of the league - it's not the sort of thing that needs a vote, let's just move the deadline this season to 9 am on 12/12 or something so we can get in some trades before the final games of the season.
Then we can discuss next season and what an appropriate date is for a season that extends into January.

Move it if we can. Don't think we need a vote since it would merely match the settings we already have had, just to the new schedule.

Re: 112, our regular season ends in 6 days, on December 13th. I don't think we should be trading in the last couple weeks of the fantasy regular season (for the reasons stated in #111, it has a negative effect to the quality of the league to do so IMO, for the same reasons we don't allow trading during the fantasy playoffs). I think we (probably?) all agree that a trading deadline line should be drawn somewhere, it's just a question of where.
But the "handwringing" and "pearl clutching" could also be described as the grave offense of "disagreeing with you". I can't tell if you're being intentionally obtuse about this or are legitimately conflating the NFL regular season with the fantasy regular season, but either way moving the trade deadline a week DOES indeed move the deadline to "the last week or two of the [fantasy] regular season."

The Trade extension doesn't really move the needle for me in terms of things that need to happen right now for a few reasons.
I do agree with Trees earlier sentiment and support immediate migration to slack (or similar) for majority of activity and important communications

I'm ok moving it,with the idea that we double check all dates in the off-season to avoid further issues

Re 118 - the trade deadline should have moved when the NFL scschedule added a week. Most leagues moved their deadline. We neglected to.
Re 119 - I'm glad we agree here, and I suspected we would. I know you tried to get a discord server going previously, but alas, it's ignored by this league mostly.
But we do need to migrate to discord or slack, not only because it's a more efficient way to do business, but because these boards aren't going to be around forever.

Yes, and now that the issue of trade deadline is on the table, I think we should have an actual discussion of what we think the ideal deadline would be, not just a knee-jerk "well the season is one week longer so let's move it back one week" response. That's one possible outcome, but not the only one.

I think we all agree it was an oversight that the league missed adjusting a few settings with the added week of NFL games this year which increased our regular season by 1 week. The Trade deadline should have been adjusted to the Friday before week 13 instead of week 12 as it was previously if we kept everything the same, but that date also passed in the meantime last Friday. Now the discussion is focused around extending the deadline a few more days to allow any last minute trades before the start of week 14. I don't think I feel strongly either way at this point, even though there were several teams reaching out to me about potential trades a couple weeks ago right before the deadline passed.
I feel like I agree with Doug in general that it doesn't seem right to allow trades all the way up until the final week of the regular season, and that the best time is still a few weeks prior when more teams are still in the playoff race. The NFC playoff teams are all set now, but the AFC still has 6 teams I believe all going for 3 remaining spots which is not typical for the final week. I'm sure there are several teams that are sellers now that wouldn't have been a week or two ago, and that could definitely affect the final week playoff race and seeding.
I'm also down to use any group messaging platform to increase league communication. I have Slack, Discord and GroupMe that I use for various other activities and groups, so whatever everyone likes best is fine with me.

Thanks Rick, everything looks good to me.
One thing to keep a watch on is any adjustments that are made on Thursday when final scores are posted from last week. There's a chance that the outcome of a few of those games could affect some playoff standings. Balt and Buffalo could swap places if Balt were to lose that close game, but the playoff matchup would remain the same. Bengals could overtake Broncos for last playoff spot if there are any scoring changes that amount to a swing of more than 2.5 points.

I think the AZ Cards should get an award for most points scored AGAINST: 3207.24
Next closest was Houston at 3114.29.
Also my average points FOR per game was 107.2, which was seventh best.
Lousy luck it would seem in the matchups.

Judy - Sounds like your team plays terrible fantasy defense haha! I've been there in the past as well. 2 years in a row I was the 2nd highest scoring team out of everyone and just missed the playoffs both times. In recent years it seems I've been on the other end of that more times, so it all goes in cycles.

This is yours to win Bobo, the Vikings team is a juggernaut! I will have to get extremely lucky to win this weekend I know so hoping I can get some big games out of a few guys.
As a side note, it's funny that I ended up with the Packers as a franchise as I was originally a last minute replacement for another manager right before the inaugural draft 20 years ago. Growing up in the Carolinas, I would have opted for the Panthers if given a chance, but I've come to like this team even though I don't root for the real Packers. In actuality, my wife's family is all from Minnesota and Vikings season ticket holders, so when I told them yesterday before we flew home from Minneapolis that my Packers were playing the Vikings in fantasy, they said they might disown me :)

Funny thing... I was the worst team in the league by leaps and bounds, just finishing out the string, but then my team put it together when it doesn't matter anymore and put 110 on the board. LOL.
MY RB position put up 42 points in the regular season. 42 points.

Good luck to both of you!
I was disappointed to have my lowest scoring week all season in the semi-finals, but as expected I needed to have some big games from a few players to beat Bobo and that didn't happen. I'm just glad I didn't make any of those last ditch trades that were being discussed. I would have still come up a little short and would have given away even more young talent to make an unsuccessful run to the championship.

Yeah, I'm so miffed about Cook's non-performance last night. I left a lot of points on my bench also, which would have taken guts to play as starters before hand. That's the type of move that could win or lose a championship.
I did quick math and kickers are averaging about 7.4 points this week in head to head games. Boswell hits (or exceeds) that for Tree and I'm toast. I am team No FG tonight for Steel City.

Well, not sure... has anyone ever gone 3 straight years in this league? It took me forever to build a team to do it.
Karmra, Carr, the duo Texan QB's definitely let me down this year, in certain weeks. Cooper let me down in the final games. Evans on COVID hurt...

I guess there's some silver lining that after the worst showing of the season last week, I came back with my best week of the season to take 3rd. Also crazy that with the 3rd highest scoring average this season, my team never had highest week. Just shows you how hard it is to manage week to week especially this year with all the Covid games missed and uncertainty. There were some recent weeks where if I had a guy going on Thur or Sat I would start them over another player with a late Sun or Mon games since it was a risk they might end up missing a game due to testing protocols.

Congrats on the win, Tree! You've crushed the last two drafts and with smart adds and trades have assembled a heck of a team. From talking to you I understand that you had a tough choice between starting Eli Mitchell and Chase Edmonds. Mitchell outscored Edmonds by 10.8, meaning if you started Edmonds you'd have suffered a heart breaking 116.8-116.32 loss. Other choices obviously factored in too but that was a championship call right there.
Congrats also to Bobo for a great year and 2nd place finish. You've compiled a monster core that should continue to be strong moving forward.
Thanks to all that helped run the league this year and keep us afloat. Looking forward to another fun year next year.

Thanks everyone - looks like having the audacity of Gino Hernandez, the tenacity of Bruiser Brody, and the viscoelasticity of Dusty Rhodes paid off.
this has been a long time coming. I've had a number of teams that were near the top in scoring, but also near the top of points allowed, so kept missing the playoffs.
This season it felt like it was coming together, then would crash and burn, and then the right players stepped up at the right times after i eked into the playoffs - i played the four last place teams over the last two weeks and managed a 1-3 record. (Leave it to Judy to explode for her season high of 147+ points against me in week 13 when i had my second highest point total of the season.)
And of all things to make a difference in the finals, it was a kicker - Chris Boswell - that i actually considered dropping for a different kicker Sunday morning.
Thanks to everyone in this league, from those who run it to those who play an active role, and special thanks to the BrainTrust of fantasy nerds in this league i talk to nearly every day, as well as my opponent in the finals, Tom Bobo.
Tom and I have been real world friends since about 2004, maybe 2005.
We met over our mutual love of a wrestling company called Ring of Honor, and along with a bunch of other miscreants, actually traveled around the country to go to this company's shows, the way some folks might travel around the country to see the Dead or Phish.
We bonded fast and quickly became friends, and over the years experienced highs so high that you relish experiencing with friends, and lows so low that only the support of friends can guide you through.
It's been awhile, but looking forward to the next time we can ride again Tom!
And hopefully looking forward to granting you that rematch clause and seeing you in the Super Bowl next season, although I imagine there are 18 other people here in this Battle Royale who might have something to say about that!

Congrats again Tree and Everyone.
Unfortunately something else we did not get to discuss or alter in the offseason was the pay outs.
Since we desperately need to update the constitution and the fact that we have a surplus of funds it seems the fairest method is to maintain the payouts of last season.
Based on that below are the final standings and winnings of the 2021 season with the Draft in reverse order.
A post will follow concerning the overall league finances and current money owed to each manager.
If you would like a payout in full or in partial please reach out to me via Email - Rickmahan@yahoo.com
**IF you notice any issues or have any disputes to the below please bring to my attention as soon as possible. Deadline for raising disputes is 1/15/2022 at noon. **
1st: Broncos - $120 2nd: Vikings - $75 3rd: Packers - $50 4th: Ravens - $45 5th: 49ers - $40 6th: Browns - $35 7th: Seahawks - $30 8th: Bills - $25
9 - Eagles 15-13 - Lottery chance 0.9% 10 - Bengals 14-14 - Lottery chance 1.3% 11 - Jaguars 14-14 - Lottery chance 1.7% 12 - Panthers 14-14 - Lottery chance 2.3% 13 - Chiefs 13-15 - Lottery chance 3.2% 14 - Texans 13-15 - Lottery chance 4.3% 15 - Bears 12-16 - Lottery chance 5.9% 16 - Cardinals 11-17 - Lottery chance 8% 17 - Cowboys 10-18 - Lottery chance 10.8% 18 - Raiders 10-18 - Lottery chance 14.7% 19 - Jets 8-20 - Lottery chance 20% 20 - Lions 4-24 - Lottery chance 25%

Budget Statement Jan 2022
If your team is listed below you are currently owed money by the league. I personally would prefer you request a payout, however you are more than welcome to maintain a "credit" as some of you have previously. As stated above - please let me know via Email if you would like a pay out, how to pay you out, and how much.
Please note that any partial dollar amounts have been rounded up on my discretion example being Cleveland previously had a 17.50 credit, now they have an 18 dollar credit.
Buffalo/Slizz - 45
Cincinnati/Young Roman - 75
Arizona/Judy - 5
Cleveland/CT/Craig - 53
Green Bay/Eric/Skinneej - 55
San Francisco/Twolves/Paul - 40
NY Jets/GO/Ryan - 10
Baltimore/Swinganamiss - 45
Denver/Tree/Josh - 140
Minnesota/Tom/Bobo - 95
Seattle/Dirk/Promize - 30
League statement: Sept 2021 balance = 999
Balances previously owed to managers = 108 Prize Money to be paid from 2021 season = 485 Projected 2022 My Fantasy League Site fee = 70
January 2022 Balance = 336
The primary concern is that we need to update our payout table as we will be taking in less money due to shrinking down to 20 teams and several awards/credits aren't officially in the constitution but are good ideas to potentially continue moving forward.
We also have a nice reserve so we dont have to be perfectly balanced (money in = money out) but we should get to that point in the future.

Curiously, MFL seems to not have any data for, or acknowledgement of, week 18. I'm wondering if there's a setting that can be changed to include week 18 in player stats, as they could be important for evaluation purposes.

Liking the look of that core…just sayin’
