The draft chart is posted, so the draft may begin.

As always, please email the next 3 when you make your pick. I put a link to the teams and owners that has their contact information, so please refer to that if you don't know the email of the next 3 that are up.

Well thus far I've predicted the all teh right players, but the order has thrown me a smidge. Gshade's trade for Palmer changed things completely.

Not dissing people that picked before you but in general, RB's are way overvalued in this league. Since you only have to start 1 they don't carry near as much value as in leagues where you are required to start 2. Plus, their careers are usually a lot shorter than QB's. A franchise QB >>>>>> franchise RB in this league. Most people think Bradford is the best QB to come out in 2 years. I guess it remains to be seen if he's the next Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf.

Am out until after 7 EDT -- since I have 2 in a row I will need to see who is picked -- too far
away now to put forth a Q. Once I get home, I can probably pick in 30 minutes. Will keep you
posted here when I get back.

Ccrider didn't have access to this thread and never got the email that he was up so it cost him and all of us a lot of time. One problem I noticed with the draft chart. It says I gave up my 5th for a 7th in the Cundiff trade. Well, I went back and looked and I traded Cundiff to the Chargers so its actually the other way around. It wouldn't make sense for me to trade a kicker and also drop two rounds in the draft for nothing. Please update the chart to me getting Charger's 5th for my 7th.

q picks made. Apparently mjd send a q but he sent two emails and i saw the one "on top" and all it had was his next three teams behind him. Gmail is great, but I just missed it. So 3 picks made in a row and Judy has a double shot so we should pick up quickly now.

I'm talking to Pete on IM.

11/04/09 10:30 am ET San Diego Chargers Jones, Dhani LB CIN - AddedCundiff, Billy K BAL - Dropped 9

So this proves that Cundiff was sent to Chargers and then cut, so it appears that I simply got it backwards and I'll announce this in draft thread and hope that we don't forget when sending out emails.

Does anyone notice something strange about the starting lineup. I have 2 RB

Our line up is 1 = RB, 1 = WR, 1 = TE, 2 = Flex RB/WR/TE right?

Gads -- you guys have taken all the offensive guys that score points, so I decided to get a guy who is a guarantee for points week in and week out, esp as the Iggles struggle in the red zone. All the other off players were projected to have fewer points than Akers. so although he is a PK, he beats them all.

Slackjawed... re: Edwards, yeah, I saw you only had Cassel on roster and figured you might go for a 2nd starter here. I'm sort of in the same boat though... even though I had 2 QBs it's basically just the combined "AZ QB".

Of course, no guarantee Trent maintains his starterdom, but it's a risk worth taking at this point in the draft imo.

Haha... and if Edwards had been gone I probably would have gone with Arenas... except that it looks like B7 would have took Arenas AND you would have took Edwards. Yikes. Normally by 3rd round the draft picks start to get less predictable. (And Barnett was a good pick-up here too).

I was taking Arenas at 3.21. This guy has no hype. Not even a starter. Thought for sure he'd slide to me once Slizz didn't take him. I took him in RIFC as did Slizz. Back to the drawing board. Got some astute managers in this league for sure.

Well, Ryan is a tier lower than Romo of course, but is 5 years younger and about to enter his prime years in a good offense, and plays more than half his games in a dome. This is why I have him in so many places.

Buffalo is continuing with getting younger and younger... Romo would be approaching the end of his window by the time all the Bills young players hit their prime.

Actually, Val, you are absolutely right. I asked Slizz the same question. Don't get me started on age. Gshade way overpaid for Palmer, but I was so sick of seeing lowball offers for quality players, I was just happy to see someone finally give up a high pick for a nice player. But, like Cards said, there are 24 teams and 32 starting QBs. Most will only have one qb and everyone has a bye week. Injuries happen and teams scramble.

But everyone values players differently. Everyone has a different view of trades. Some in this league will only trade if they think they are getting the better deal. Some won't trade a stud player no matter what they are getting in return. Some view the draft as starting over rather than starting in round 10 (obviously some rookies and a couple others have higher than 10 round value perhaps). I am still astonished at some managers keeping less than ideal keepers when they could upgrade big time at a fraction of the price they are worth, but I digress.

Ref, Doug (78/79) - Hah, I actually picked up Arenas in RIFC too. So looks like us g24'ers have him locked up. Wasn't looking in his direction though at this point yet. But Edwards getting snatched from my grasp definitely threw me for a loop.

91: DS, I actually got your email after I had picked. It's funny too because I kept going back and forth on those two players you listed (1. Crosby 2, Longwell). I really really like Crosby, but think with Favre that Longwell might get more opps. Crosby has a much bigger leg but does miss some of those two. Def. two of the top Ks in football. Thing is, I wanted to wait on a K until later, but not having a 4th rounder def. changed my thinking. Last year I had Crosby here and Longwell in RIFC and both were really good.

92: I wanted to get him earlier in RIFC, but waited because I didn't think anyone would target him. Slizz took him high in RIFC and thought he'd get him here too, but when he didn't I was sure I'd get him. So yet another G24er got him in RIFC.

Yeah, every year I am a bit surprised (although less with each passing year, lol) at the lack of willingness to trade draft picks for keeper upgrades... I mean, look at the players being taken round 3... and I know some people didn't want to even trade a 4th round pick for a keeper-quality player (and instead kept players who'd very likely still be on the draft board now). Not trying to call anyone out, but I think maybe it's the complexity and unusual structure of this league makes it tough for people to adjust their valuations. Not only is 4th round in our league really the 13th round, but because we have 24 teams it's sort of more like the 25th/26th round. To not get a solid keeper upgrade for a 25th round pick is a poor choice imo, but it happens year after year. *shrug*

As for QB value... yeah, if I hadn't traded Delhomme I would have been in a pickle... would I have dropped Delhomme? Probably not... Cole, the #1 DE? Ruud, a top-10 LB? Kinda funny to be considering that in favor of keeping the 30th or so ranked QB, lol. I actually might have wound up keeping 0 WRs instead. So, yeah, QBs definitely have their value exaggerated here.

Think of it this way, if it were a regular 12 team league (instead of 24), each team would be starting 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 2 TE, and 4 RB/WR/TE flex. That's definitely a few extra flex spots than usual, but whatever, there's sort of a ton of guys who get "some" points, the guys you normally have on your roster to cover bye weeks and such... you just wind up starting them instead. But 2QBs is a game changer.

I had Arenas targeted in RIFC, but slizz took him 3 picks earlier. I figured he was looking at him in this league, too. Still some risk. He has to do most of the returns plus play some DB to be worthwhile. I'm hoping he's like Terrence McGee was.

If you saw any Alabama games the last couple years, he was their return guy and DB. He's supposed to that for KC. I didn't know he was uncoachable, though. That may be Gilbert Arenas .

queue for 4.05 sent to Ref and StLCards.

Judy, there are some others out there with a similar skill set/role that I never heard of before researching for the draft. I just don't know how much they are worth in this league because a return job can be gone soon. and without a return job these guys are worth nothing if they don't become starters. and a starter at DB needs to be studly to keep him.

He's not a keeper, but just good value for a DB with his return yards. His value is in returns though he plays in Nickel so he could get points there as well.

I'm sending slizz q to cards and will send his and YRs to anyone who can take it.

102: Judy, there are several sites I have found and a lot are contradictory or just plain wrong or not updated. Some teams use several different guys and even changes. That's why when you get someone who looks to be studly and plays on D too, you have to consider him. Still may not get enough points to merit a roster spot though.

We need to pick up the pace. I've been swamped, but will try to get the c clock chart up. That always seems to motivate us.

Also, many sites (like CBS) don't include return yardage in a player's projected stats. I don't want to name undrafted players, but I had a guy last year who rarely touched the ball on offense, but still gave me about 5 FP/game just from his return game. For some players, that extra amount is the difference between a mid-round or late-round pick (or undrafted, for that matter).

Or a guy like WR Danny Amendola, who was good for 326 receiving yards last year (probably not worth drafting for that). But he had almost 2000 return yards, which puts him in a nice position to help a team out.

Not having a 4th round pick has caused me all kinds of issues. I'd have been able to get who I wanted and still getting a decent K here. Oh well. With that said, I still might be interested in trading up. I do have n extra pick and could package a 2 for 1 draft pick exchange perhaps.

Usually, I've been able to be around more than this season and I'm constantly pestering guys to pick and telling them they are going to time out, etc. I've not been able to do that this season and our draft is suffering because of it. We're not doing horribly, but we're a round behind by our normal standards. If there are others who can assist, we'd all appreciate that.

Remember, if someone times out, your clock starts at that time. I'm going to have to make time to get this c clock up because there are going to be some issues coming up later in the draft for some as it stands.

GO, I like Amendola a lot. He was a great pickup for me last year. I thought about picking him in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds but decided I needed options at D/ST. After Avery was diagnosed with a year ending injury I wanted to trade up but ultimately had a bunch of stuff I had to do Friday and Saturday so couldn't propose anything to anybody.

Rams are still fairly deep at receiver even after the Avery injury and they shouldn't be nearly as bad on defense this year so his return yards will be cut a little. Still a great pickup in the 4th round. Wish someone besides you got him.

I totally forgot I had pick 5.03. That messed up my entire draft strategy. I could have taken Thomas there (Great pick Cards) and still got a really nice K at 5.03. Probably could have done it anyways and waited until 5.21. Oh well. Hopefully my picks work out. Thomas is sort of a risk (high) reward type, but I looked at him hard even in the 1st round. Then hard again in the 2nd. Then in the 3rd I agonized about it, but ultimately went with the sure thing. I'd have definitely taken him at 5.03 if he was still there. I took the best IDP on the board IMO, so it might work out better this way afterall.

Somehow Nerf's pick at 2:31 got deleted. It may have been by mistake when DS was fixing some posts, but we won't be charging any time between 2:31 and 3:49 when cards was able to track down nerf to get his pick put back up. how to remove the dark line below mjd:
you need to change the class of the tr-tag before "mjds Chargers" from xl97113 to xl0113. at least this is the case in Opera where you easily can test this.
I guess the initial problem is that the style within excel is not identical. you could try to copy the style from "bmds Texans" to "mjds Chargers" with the Format Painter. that may fix it.

Interesting. I would think that if the pick was changed before the next guy picks that would be OK. After all, the reason we don't want people changing picks after the draft moves on is that later picks adjust based upon the picks being made.

*Not* a big deal either way, but I don't see the harm in making a change before the next pick was made.

I thought Pete's pick was 15th and not 14th. Can't see everything on my phone.

I asked someone to email the next three and email me instead of Pete. Wish someone could have noticed. but it's all good.

I doubt if I'm on here long. Trying to come up with a q to send someone myself. Did you email both of skineej's accounts?

Yes, I e-mailed all of the accounts that were listed on CBS.

I wish I had traded for a 4th or 5th round pick. Round 2 was a little for a K, but 6 it is starting to get late.

RE: Romo for Ryan trade. I'm just not a Romo fan. I made it pretty known that I wanted Stafford instead of Romo...but at the end of the day I got my guy. I tried so hard to get Stafford instead but he just wasn't budging on him.

I think Ryan is a really low risk to outperform his projections of 3500 yards 22 TDs and 13 INTs. Dome 9 games guaranteed every year, young offense, and plenty of upside for the future as well.

As far as QB's, I have tried so hard to find one. 4 years in the league and I have gone through as many QB's as the Bears have.

Started with Favre
-Traded Favre for a 3rd round pick + Mike Bell.
-Traded down for Kellen Clemens.
-Drafted Tarvaris Jackson & Gus Frerotte.
-Traded for Trent Edwards (2009 1st round pick).
-Picked up Alex Smith and dropped him...go figure, he starts the 2nd half and Cards has the #1 waiver priority
-Picked up Matt Moore
-Traded Matt Moore and alot of quality depth + my 3rd for Romo
-Finally got a Tier 1 QB in Ryan straight up for Romo.

What a mess.

But hoarding QB's is a one way ticket to picking at the top of the lottery...just keep that in mind Valk.

bottom line, if you take over a bad team...it takes about 3 years to really put them in a position to succeed.

I took over the leagues worst franchise (historically) and finally have them in a position to where I feel I can make a run this year and for the long haul.

It involves risk-taking, trades where you might be giving up more than what you'll get in return, and luck.

I've won trades and lost trades:

Lost: 1st year, traded Favre for a 3rd & Mike Bell. I thought Favre was a 1 year rental and not worth much.
Win: Traded Julius Jones (Starting in Dallas at the time) and Javon Walker (Starting in Denver) for Andre Johnson (right after his knee injury).
Lost: Traded Ryan Grant & Roddy White for Deion Branch and a 1st. Deion busted out and the 1st was Tim Hightower.
Lost: Traded a 1st for Trent Edwards. Anything involving Trent Edwards can't be good
Win/Win: Traded Andre Johnson & David Hawthorne for Darren McFadden, Percy Harvin, & Jahvid Best (1.02).
Win/Win: Traded Moore, Harrison, Meachem, & a 3rd round pick for Tony Romo.

Some sides win the trade, some lose, and sometimes both come away with a win/win situation. GO steamrolled to the championship and the Lions picked up a boatload of depth to help them compete this year and beyond.

Thats why I respect Shade giving up alot for Palmer...his team really came on strong last year due to Charles and Forsett putting up solid #'s. Combine that with a healthy Eddie Royal, solid TE in boss...he could finally make a run at the playoffs...and thats what its about.

QB has been horrible for me every season until last. Hopefully Schaub is the answer. Keep in mind I won all those titles with scrub QBs. QB is not really the answer for this league.

GO is the real beneficiary of the QB hot potato. First he trades out of Roeth and his 4 to 6 game suspension straight up for Ryan. If that deal was offered to me and a draft pick I would have jumped at it if I was GO. Then Romo was offered to him straight up for Ryan. GO has been able to trade up twice now w/o giving up any other compensation. No wonder he's the champ. Nothing against GO, he is shrewd but he also normally really gets values and is not afraid to give up a great player and picks, etc. in order to get quality in return. I can't fathom GO not willing to throw other things in if it was requested to get the deal done. But it doesn't matter what other's perceived value is. They are all happy with the deal and it may be fund to speculate about it, but that is the bottom line when the deal is within reason.

Draft: Well we are past the halfway mark, but it took a week to get there. I'm on vacation starting Friday and I know others are as well. I'll be able to check in via phone but not sure what else I'll be able to do. Guess we can look at things as it gets closer.

Like I said before, i guarantee I wouldn't have done Ryan for Romo if i didn't have Ryan in 2 other big keeper leagues. I obviously love the guy as does Slizz. Other than Rodgers there is no other young QB I'd rather have than Ryan, although I like where Flacco and Stafford are heading. But mainly I don't want all my eggs in one basket.

I did it the other way a few years back trading the studly Brees for the up and coming Cutler which is generally my track record.

And yes, multiple good QB's is a ticket to the lottery... its a waste in value to hoard them. AF should have traded his extra QB multiple times to fix his other problems. I'm sure others needed QB's. Maybe the offers weren't rolling in, AF would have to answer that. But I also just watched him not move the retiring Billy Wagner for draft picks when given the chance, so he seems reluctant to deal. Perhaps he got burned on one.

The above posts basically sum up my reasoning for trading Palmer. I had Henne and Palmer, you can only start 1QB each week. So one of them was going to be sitting each week. Granted, that means that other teams would be a bit weaker, but that isn't a winning strategy. Between the 2, I would have preferred to keep Palmer as I think he has a decent chance to return to his earlier form, but it's just a chance. Palmer has plenty of weapons, but some of those weapons have a lot of miles on them and more than enough ego for any team with just one of them, let alone 2.

Do you need a great QB to succeed in this league? Not really, but you do need a decent one. 2 years ago I was starting Buffalo's back-up QB hoping for an injury, not fun.

I inherited a team with Michael Vick on it. Never liked Vick, but was never sure what kind of value to put on him in a trade. (This is when he was starting and making spectacular plays.) Valuing him wasn't really a big issue becuz tho he was OTB many times, no one once expressed interest. He blew up and I wasted a keeper space on him twice.

Then I got lucky. IIRC Cutler was a QB of the future but not starting so I just picked him up. Then I got lucky (short term at least) again. I had a good record at mid-season despite poor pts for/ag stats. The question was whether I should act as if I had a chance at the playoffs that year. I decided that I should, and would mortgage my future and trade Cutler for Brees -- a trade I felt in my gut was dubious at best. Worked out last year, at least in making the playoffs, indeed with the best record in the NFC.

Backup QBs with a chance to start can be a winning lottery ticket. I remember seeing a guy named Aaron Rodgers a FA sitting behing Favre, and wondering whether he would be worth picking up and holding on to. I decided no....

Don't remind me about Rodgers. Drafted him in '07 to be my QB but then got convinced Favre would never retire so dropped him later in the year for TE Alex Smith. So of course in '08 he becomes the starter except now for Deepsnapper and not me.

I love reading about this stuff. Great discussion!

Btw it has been 6 days and not a week. Forgot the keeps were due tues but draft didn't start until Wed.

A couple years ago, I was all set to blow my team up and rebuild. The problem? no QB. I firmly believe even when rebuilding, every team has a duty to do the best they can to for the good of the league. That includes doing what you can to field a starter in your lineup. I contacted every single team with multiple QBs to try and get a QB. One team had three QBs. Then on the night keeps were due, Slizz offers me Favre. This guy was retiring after that season supposedly and not the way I want to rebuild--esp having to give up a couple RBs and a 3rd round pick. I thought I way overpaid, but also thought it was the right thing to do. I was actually kicking myself as the deal seemed counterintuitive. But then Favre does really well before getting hurt later in the seasons and I drafted really well and I somehow landed in the playoffs. It is unreal how quickly you can turn your team around in this league.

Then last year AF is going to draft a QB and had 3 already IIRC. I asked him for Ryan and offered him a ton. He comes back and said he's keeping him but he would send me Schaub but it would cost me another player and another draft pick. I sent him 3 players??? and a 1st and a 3rd IIRC. It might seem like a lot, but I'd have been willing to pay even more to get a quality player like that. I know everyone was worried about his injuries in the past and that's prob. why no one else offered him anywhere close to what I did even though he was OTB for awhile.

Somtimes there is a method to his madness, other times there isn't. Which one is this? Losing Rice is gonna smart. My guess he is loading up and see if any stick. Tate was well-thought-of before his injury and trip to the IR. There is a BIG IR on his CBS page. Twarpy is well aware of Tate's status, I assure you.

I'm thinking that we may just have to go to CBS for our draft. Maybe Kaf. Thought this was the most user-friendly way to go about things and also allows us to have it for historical purposes, but the draft this season seems a lot harder to administrate. We are still way behind pace, but we still have plenty of time before the season. May have some issues come Friday night though.

In reality we're only a few picks behind where we where on Wed morning of last year. The RIFC main draft started 6 days before us and just now is finishing from what I can tell. That draft has 48 more picks than our supplemental draft which is equivalent to 2 rounds for us.

So it seems a long time between picks but we have almost twice the number of teams of most leagues, so of course it feels painfully slow.

That said, let's get this thing rolling.

207: Go if there were enough heads up, we could have worked with you.

210: Yeah, it has been frustrating. I don't feel comfortable going less than 3 hours per pick when we're not up against the wall as far as the season getting underway. There have only been four timed outs over 3 hrs and seven picks of over 2 hrs or more charged time. Only five picks are under 6 hours and only two of them under three hours of their cumulative clock left. Even if we knocked the c clock down, only four more people fall into the 6 hr clock or less. The c clock isn't there to skip people's picks as much as it is to hurry people up and not slow down the draft. If everyone uses the clock they're entitled to, we would not get done in time.

What our leagues usually does so well is start as late as possible and have a quick draft for so many people. Last year was the slowest ever and this year is even slower yet. We will get done in time--but apparently again not in time for Labor Day Weekend. So in the future we are going to have to decide if we want to get done before the holiday weekend or not. Ideally we start at the same time, get done before the weekend and then do nothing over the weekend and turn on waivers on Monday so players can start being picked up on Wed of next week. Perhaps we move the keepers and draft up one day earlier to help facilitate that--though we wouldn't get to see that final week two game before keeps are due.

We have no problem getting done with the draft, but the timely selections and administration starting Friday night might be an issue.

I'm not sure I understand what enough of a heads up means. If I posted a minute before you posted "please don't make my pick" would that be enough notice? I went in the draft thread, the pick wasn't there. I went to other thread and said please don't make my pick. Thought that was good enough. I guess in hindsight I should have posted the trade right in the draft thread. It would have been in there before you posted the pick.

It wasn't there. I posted the pick. Then right before I went to bed I got an email from you saying nevermind. I respond. Then I see that you posted in the discussion thread. Also, there wasn't a trade, it was that you were in trade negotiations and you MIGHT have a trade coming up. If you posted a Q pick on an automated site, it would have been picked the minute you were up. This is all within a couple mins.

I think we have to move our draft to an automated situation next season. Seems that this arrangement is becoming more difficult each season.

GO, if you are back then post in the draft thread that you are back and your queue should NOT be used. You did not and Ref posted your pick at the same time you said don't. It's not a clear cut situation but we've said that once a pick is posted it stands. There are exceptions like somebody misreading a queue or picking out of order but I don't think this is one of them.

I agree with moving this thing to automatic. MFL is awesome with it queue building for each round.

BTW, there are a few guys out there in the CBS player pool that have been drafted. Some over a round ago. It's really a pain when you are looking over the "free agents" and you have to double check every single one of them with the draft thread.

Last I looked on CBS, you couldn't trade draft picks. The time limit was set--no change for the dark hours. It emails the next up to pick automatically. CBS usually announces what changes they made and I didn't see any change in their draft system.

I think a lot of us are somewhat spoiled by how fast MFL drafted this year.

An automated system of setting up Qs and sending emails out would certainly speed up our draft.

MFL can't hold a candle to CBS as far as what CBS provides, but I'll investigate everything next season. Many are fed up with CBS' baseball and have been for awhile, but not a lot of sites can accommodate what we do there. Same with G24. No one even offered 24 teams when we came to CBS. But Cards and I agree, that it has become increasingly hard on us to administrate this draft and keep everyone quick enough and happy. The q picks for mfl are nice. Bad thing is getting an email every pick, you don't nec know when you are up if you don't read every word. CBS would be nice because it picks up your player automatically too (like mfl does if we used their site). All I know, is this will likely be the last time we draft like this in any of our leagues.

RE 254, The answer in 252 was absolutely you can wait until after the draft to have a legal lineup and that you don't technically need a legal lineup even at the start of week 1 since you can add/drop up until each game starts for the week.

In other words, yes, the answer is no.

I guess there is the long shot possibility that the time between the end of the draft and week 1 games is insufficient for a waiver period and I could then end up with an illegal lineup.

The emailing thing can beat up for people who are checking in remotely rather than from a computer or laptop.

As for queues getting forwarded around, i don't think it matters if it goes to the guy who picks right before you so long as you can dictate did it take you in the subject line, everyone should the following the etiquette of not opening q email until the pick is on the clock. Sounds like cards did exactly that, and overall i think we've had a pretty good paced draft considering that its conducted on a message board.

Also agree that next year we should look into mfl or kafinated or pretty much any other automated drafting service we can find. Thanks to the commissioners for keeping things moving along thus far, great job guys!

I'm interested to know whether the etiquette of not opening the Q till it is necessary, and then even not looking farther into it than is necessary to make the pick, still prevails.

I ask that becuz I am not sure newer players know of it or abide by it. In G20 baseball, this year, I sent a queue and got an e-mail back almost immediately saying "Oh I get it. This is your queue for crappy OFs." (An accurate statement.) This manager, who is in this league, had obviously never heard of the protocol.

YR, that's the other DL guy I had it narrowed down to. Kia is the safe pick with upside since he will get some LB looks, but I went with the risk/reward player in Odom. Hope he can last the season and put up some big numbers,,,but I doubt it.

The draft has gone well today thus far. Only 5 picks over an hour and the queues have been picked really fast. Hopefully we can at least start on round 11 before many of us take off Friday afternoon.

My draft is over. I still have the 11.21 pick which I will be forfeiting unless someone wants it for a slight upgrade next year or whatever. If you are short a pick and need to get a player now rather than waiting for waivers, this could be valuable for you. Save a waiver claim and get your guy.

I'm pleased how the draft has been going lately. We're flying today. I'll get the c clock gird up again shortly and then keep updating it before sending it to cards to complete if need be. As of now there are only two people under 3 hrs who still have a pick left. So for the most part the c clock appears to not really come into play, but look at how quickly the managers who had a big clock early started to pick once we got the c clock posted. So it does speed up the draft and that's the objective--not to skip people.

GO has 1:28 on his c clock. Coming into pick 10.24 so keep that in mind. The next player's clock starts immediately upon the expiration of someone's per pick or cumulative clock.

Let me remind you or our end of draft procedures...

If you are skipped, you have 3 hours from that skipped pick or until the end of the draft (whichever is later) to make up that pick or you lose it. This is so people don't intentionally skip their pick to wait for news w/o having to use a waiver pick.

I was looking for a WR when I picked a few hours before the trade was announced over 10 hours ago.

And I seriously considered keeping him despite his place on the Dallas debth chart.

Nice pick up Cards. Pretty sweet in the last round.

has anyone looked at what the "GM Assistant" says?

a bit funny, here are only 2 that are listed for my team.

Brown, Josh K STL is a below average option at his position.
1. Trade Edelman, Julian WR NE to San Diego Chargers for Kasay, John K CAR. Then activate him to replace Brown, Josh K STL
2. Trade Edelman, Julian WR NE to Chicago Bears for Succop, Ryan K KC. Then activate him to replace Brown, Josh K STL
3. Trade Edelman, Julian WR NE to Indianapolis Colts for Hanson, Jason K DET. Then activate him to replace Brown, Josh K STL

Levy, DeAndre LB DET is a below average option at his position. Levy, DeAndre LB DET in your active lineup is questionable to play due to injury.
1. Trade Houshmandzadeh, T.J. WR SEA to Arizona Cardinals for Dansby, Karlos LB MIA. Then activate him to replace Levy, DeAndre LB DET

I wonder if they take into account that we have 24 teams in the league and that not every reported injury is as serious as listed.

I doubt that anyone would take TJ for Dansby and giving up Edelman for a kicker is very questionable.

RE: 287 yeah I couldn't pass up Crayton once I saw the trade. Didn't really need a WR but since he'll be returning punts as well as starting with Rivers throwing to him, figured he has a good chance for a breakout season. Do have too many WRs now so I could be open to trading one or I can just wait to see which ones excel and which ones don't.

I was just surprised that he lasted like 8 hours. Either teams picking after the trade before you didn't see it or were looking in the scrap heap to fill out a legal roster.

Regardless, in this league, you have to take any gifts that fall in your lap like that.

c-clock is not an issue for any of the teams yet to draft so only the 3 hour clock will be in play.

pick 11.21 will be automatically skipped when it comes up unless it is traded prior to that pick's start time.

Two teams are short players and two teams were skipped, so it looks like all players were picked up. I double-checked and the FA freeze is 5 mins before the first game on Sunday for all players who haven't played yet that week. Any game played earlier is still 5 mins before the freeze of his team's game.

I am getting ready to turn waivers on which will signal the start of the regular season for us.
