Use this space to analyze the draft. This thread is optional.

What were your good/great/favorite picks? What were your "bad"/do over ones?

How did you like the MFL evaluation of your drafting skills?

Do you like your team overall? What worries you about your team? What are the strengths of your team?

etc, etc, etc

Whose team is looking good and why?

And anything else you wish to analyze.

My favorite pick was TE Vernon Davis. This is the first year that TE is a strength on my team. Hopefully not at the expense of other positions. My "do over" pick is Jordan Babineaux. There is a good chance he won't even start for SEA. I should have done a little more research before choosing him.

How did you like the MFL evaluation of your drafting skills?
Good for a laugh. Otherwise it isn't worth anything.

Do you like your team overall? What worries you about your team? What are the strengths of your team?
I like my team overall. Average at QB and RB. Strong at WR and TE. Better than average K and Defense. I have a difficult time evaluating at IDP, but I felt I drafted OK. Injuries are always a worry in a league with so many strong managers.

etc, etc, etc
I like the Bonzai drafting system. I feel it is much fairer as it removes much of the advantage of having one of the top few picks. I started reading about auction drafts this year and they seem to be an even fairer way to draft. I will probably sign up for an auction league next season in addition to this league.

I like the speed of the draft and automatic picking from queues. I think we should wait until after the 3rd preseason game to start the draft next year. The later we start the draft, the less likely there will be an injury to one of the top picks. We can easily complete the draft in one week, so starting this late should not be a problem.

I have to admit, I really like getting Jones-Drew with the third pick. He kind of sets the entire team up from the get-go. I can't think of a truly bad pick. I did reach for a few players, but for the most part they were top-3 at their positions, so I was making sure I was solid there. As I mentioned in the rationals, I would have loved to have gotten Edwards 5 spots earlier, instead of Brackett.

Good for a laugh. They killed me because of two picks, essentially.

Do you like your team overall? What worries you about your team? What are the strengths of your team?

This team is going to score some points, I don't have any doubt about that. Health of my WR is an issue, especially Welker. I didn't do a great job of getting backups for the old unit, so that might be a weakness. Other than that, I have top-5 performers at every position except DEF - and DEF is always a crapshoot. One of my general worries, however, is that this is a very veteran team that could have age catch up with it. Very few if any young players on this team.

etc, etc, etc

Banzai was fine. I mentioned in the rationals that I mightve picked Brown at 3.03 anyways. I don't know if I would have - I kind of reached for him as it was, though it didn't seem like it at the time.

MFL draft was unbelievably fast - so much so that I hardly had the time to even prepare for the next round. I would just sit down, see my pick was up, do some quick research and make a selection. I shy away from using queues unless I have to, mostly because I end up changing my mind so often during a draft.

Biggest surprise was how RB's have gone in favor of WR/QB's. WR's will never score as many points as a same-round RB, but they were flying off the board in the 2nd round. I picked up a starting RB in the 8th round! There were at least 7 800+ yd TE's in the draft! Just showing that passing is where it's at right now.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft?

I planned, for the first time, to have a top-three quarterback, selecting at 1.13. I was quite prepared to select a WR at 2.03 as well, if that was the best value available. After that I would alternate between RB and WR picks, with a TE thrown in if value warranted, until I had a full lineup and At least 2 RB backups and one WR backup, before looking at IDPs.

Were you able to execute as you had planned?

What do you think? Peyton Manning, who I expected to last to me, was taken by Taxman at 1.05 and all 3 QBs were gone by 1.09.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Well, 7 of my skill players were “best value” picks, chosen later than in any RIFC draft: Moss, Bowe, Sproles, Henne, Massaquoi, Gerhart, and Henderson. Plus the Dallas defence. My favourite pick, though, was a “worst value” RIFC pick, Spiller at 4.02. I’m a Bills fan and have been good at assessing Bills players in recent years – which has mostly meant not owning any except Fred Jackson last year. I stayed off Evans when he had no one to throw to him, I predicted accurately that Marshawn Lynch would never get his job back last year, etc. Spiller is for real, Chan Gailey knows the team is terrible and he needs to keep the fans off him for as long as possible, (the over/under on the booing of Edwards starting is the middle of the 3rd quarter of Game 1) and so Spiller will get his touches. I love Justin Smith as a 24th round pick.

I picked Dan Connor way too early. Gostkowski has a bad playoff schedule and I should not have drafted him. Anybody who doesn’t plan to make the playoffs want a kicker?

Overall I like my team better than I usually do. I have worries at RB, but then so does everybody -- it's in the nature of the position.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Those of (no order) dpr, Taxman, holt and Loki. Lots of good ones, no obvious bad ones I can see.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

Well, see, I was sure that a top-three quarterback would be available at 1.13 and – oh, I told you that already, didn’t I. Running backs weren’t going as quickly, of course, so there were some great values in the 3rd round or so…but there were also some RB picks I find questionable in rounds 3 through 5. Just like the words “proven closer”, the words “starting running back” aren’t a talisman that guarantees success for injury-prone players or those of limited ability. But then I am sure that some would put Spiller in that questionable category as well.

It was real fast. I felt sorry for a coupla guys in the middle who were obviously busy, they would think a bit and pick but there would be like 8 guys already queued up behind them and then half an hour later they would get a message that they were back up again. Well I didn’t really feel sorry for them….

MFL was a pain in the butt. It took longer to set up a queue pick than to decide who I wanted. I hope that it has in-season things that make it worthwhile. But, hey, last year I played on Fantrax so anything looks good by comparison….

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Well, if I had known that I needed to have the 9th choice to get a top-three QB, I would have done that. But aside from having this kind of knowledge, nothing different except the 2 picks I mentioned.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft?

My plan is the same as most drafts, get "guaranteed" value with my top picks. In other words, I want to know what I'm getting so I can plan around those players. Low standard deviation. I'll take a potentially lower player than someone who might get a look this season, etc. Age has little bearing on things. Rookies are unproven. Gone are the days of RB RB. My WRs have killed me the last few seasons. I normally draft thin there because there are always so many that pop up, but injuries and underperformers have been my nemesis as well so I planned to go more WRs earlier and go deeper than normal as well. I can't ever get a Waiver claim anyhow it seems.

2. Were you able to execute as you had planned?

You can't really plan too much in this thing. But I did get more WRs than I even imagined possible--and very good ones at that. Main issue is having too many week 8 byes, but I started thinking that I am not going to let this great player pass by simply because of his one week. I ultimately did pass on some guys later on, but there was a couple players who kept slipping so I finally got them too. I avoided the QB runs and still got Eli who should be pretty good. I got the RB I knew I'd get in Rice, but was a little surprised White was still there in the 2nd.

3. Do you like your team overall? What worries you about your team? What are the strengths of your team?

You just never know. I've had drafts where I loved my team and it didn't do as well. Though I've missed out on RIFC by one slot every single season. My WRs SHOULD be really good. My 2nd RB is questionable--but could be really good too. I'mnot sure about my Ds. Waiter longer than expected on D, but every time I started to go there, it went in front of me. Since we are D and not DST, I might have a coup in the Bengals and Colts. Both teams have below average return teams. Colts give up a lot of rushing yds though so it could be dicey. If Sanders can stay healthy he is a really good run stopper for a SS. At TE I took Celek over Gonzo. Still questioning myself about that one. I also grabbed a K a little earlier than normal, but it seemed everyone else was playing catch-up after going after the runs and a top K was there for the picking and those sure-points were appealing. I don't tend to take an early-bye K, but couldn't pass up Longwell. If anything, I should have a LOT of chips to trade, but not counting on that because not a lot of RIFC guys look to trade.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

The pace. It was so fast, that no one had adequate time to plan for their next pick at times. Even if you know where you're going, you have to adjust that strategy on the fly depending on what other managers are doing at times. But even when I did that, guys were unpredictable. People following runs which opened up some players who I didn't expect would be there. Guys grabbing players where there wasn't nec. a need like a 3rd QB or a quick 2nd TE or QB. Knowledgeable managers smartly grabbing a guy ahead of where these pundits thought he should be.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Absolutely...will let you know what that is when I figure it out after the season starts!

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

Like most of us I had no prior experience with a Banzai draft. I thought that the 14th followed by the 13th picks would be the most advantageous, but these were taken by the time it was my turn. When I was able to choose at #9, I was surprised to find that the 1st draft pick was still available and grabbed it. Even though the Banzai minimizes the differences between draft positions, I felt that I could not go wrong with number one.
Being able to pick Chris Johnson shaped my initial strategy. I had planned on using the early rounds for offense. Because I had Johnson, I was not concerned with the RB position and could concentrate on picking a top tier QB and decent WRs.
My strategy was to use the 1st third of the draft for offense, the 2nd third for defense and the remaining picks to complete my roster. I believe that I was able to execute this strategy as planned.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
My favorite picks were my RBs. At the end of the preseason Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Jerome Harrison and Fred Taylor were all the number one RB for their respective teams. Chris Johnson has to be my favorite, but I think that Forte was a bargain at 4.14. At the end of the draft there were no picks that I wanted to do over, but after watching Hartley miss 2 FGs in the season opener…

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I cannot see any teams that stand out. All have their strengths and weaknesses, and I think that the final standings will be decided by injuries. This seems to hold true in Fantasy Football as well as in the NFL. That having been said in every draft in which I have participated with Holt , Holt has always had one of the strongest teams.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
The speed of the draft. I did not like the rapid pace, and while it eliminated the frustration of a manager timing out, it did not give adequate time to plan. I found this to be so even though my draft position gave me the most time between picks, albeit having to make 2 picks at a time.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
I will be better able to answer this question at the end of the season.

6. Miscellany-I am glad that Toral is once again in my league because he alone understands the significance of my team name, The Titans of New York!!
