Jim or anyone with some knowledge: I looked thru all the postings to understand where I will be in Division 2 and I am still lost. So let me get this straight, since I am #1 in division 1, will I be 18 in division 2 in other words I get whatever is left over after everyone chose?

Ricky,

You likely won´t be 18. You will be whatever is left. Someone will likely take 18 so they can have the back to back picks each round.

Yeah ricky, the guy sitting with the 17th pick will probably take the 18th position. Unless of course you want to offer a draft trade to him?

Ricky is in Alaska but will be PCSing on Saturday and I am not sure if he is driving/taking the ferry or if he is flying. We may need to get a cheat sheet from him.

I just have one night that I have to go play CQ at the dorms, I can't really get out of it. It will be Saturday night from 2200-0300 UK time. Other than that, I say we get the show on the road and get it done!! If I have to be up at 4 am then that's what I'll do.

Let's work on getting through the draft positions first of course!!

Guys I really don't see this happening- Everyone has other live drafts scheduled between now and next Wednesday not to mention Labor day weekend and how slow our e-mail response has been and the fact that we have no sius to do a single list draft. Live is probably out of the question- the only viable possibility is a single list draft which really is not an acceptible format for a draft only survivor league.
Unfortunately I say let's just stack it up until next year. I mean we can't even select draft slots much less choices in less than a week.

I am still up for keeping the league going because I suspect if we try to wait until next year it probably won't happen.'

With that said, if we don't get it moving soon we will surely run out of time before we are able to draft.

We can't really do the 10th since the season starts on the 9th. With MIN playing NO, I'm sure there are a few players on both teams getting picked up. If we continue then we need some real movement, we would have to commit this weekend to making a major dent in the player picks.

Why dont we draft in the order of roll dice 1 low to high and high to low and pass on the picking of draft order so the draft can get started?

Here's a suggestion Jim, just start the draft either using the bones we rolled already or let's all roll again & you get the draft position ya roll. Either way, I echo everyone concerns we should start soon!

I know I'm the rookie, but I agree with Jeremy and Jeff, let's just use the numbers we got from rolling the bones and set the order that way.

I am hitting the road tomorrow and will have internet connection on Saturday-Monday only so we need to get this started.

I agree with Jeremy (Pecos), Jeff and Ricky and anyone else who agrees. Let's start the draft now based on the dice rolls. If everyone, or at least the majority, agrees then Ricky is up with the #1 pick in one league and in the mirror league Jeremy would be up with the #1 pick.

What say you? This may be the only alternative to not having a survivor league this year.

1) I agree on the going with the dice as the draft order.

2) I don't see anyway we get this draft done by 9 Sept. I say we drop one of Buddy's teams, go with 17 teams. Everyone survives Week 1. We shouldn't have a problem finishing by Week 2.

3) I just don't see getting 17 players with so many time zones together for a live draft. I'm in Spain.

I agree with Jon's proposal. However, I had a little problem with a typhoon knocking out power at our house for a week or so. I'm not going to have time to set up the league draft website. Is someone going to have time to set it up. It's basically loading up everyone's email addresses. Email me and I'll give you the url and password.

Three changes I have in mind for this year.

- Tiebreakers will be broken in the following week. It sucks to get kicked off on a technicality. This goes for week 1 thru 17 (co-champs for finale).
- We'll go with 18 teams and just carry four into the final two weeks.
- Speaking of the final two weeks, week 16 is usually more significant than week 17 when many players rest, so let's still make it cumulative, but week 16 will count for 2/3s and week 17 1/3 (week 16 score is doubled).

Any objections?

You just need to pick players now Buddy, draft positions were a wash so we moved on!

I don't like the rule:
- week 16 will count for 2/3s and week 17 1/3 (week 16 score is doubled).

It's silly that a week 16 TD would have more value than a week 17 TD. We all have the same pool of players to draft from, and the same chance of facing a week 17 player resting. So I say we leave it as is. The same act (TD pass, reception, 10 yards rushing) should never have more value in one week than another, that makes no sense.

I'm not hard over on the double scoring for week 16. I just know that a lot of leagues end their playoffs in week 16 because a lot of star players rest in week 17. If double points for week 16 seems too weird, we can stay with simple cumulative scoring. I just would hate to have a big lead after week 16 and then lose the lead because my QB doesn't play in week 17.

I am pretty confident we will finish before week 2 games. Typically, we average a round a day. We are off to a slow start because there was not much advance warning and I have a feeling some newbies aren't quite sure what's going on. If you invited someone, please make sure they know we have two drafts going on at the same time.

To piggyback on Shak, tell them about the predrafting option. It will keep the draft moving if you are in bed or away from the computer.

To predraft, when you open up the main page, on the left it says manage your draft picks. Open that up and a list of players will open up. From there, there are a few options of way they are listed. ADP which ranks the players by performance, alphabetical or top performers. You can further break that down with the drop window to break it up by position.

Highlight a player and add him to the list. Be sure you add ONE more player than you have before your turn. In other words, if you have 8 people in front of you, add 9 players to you list in case all 8 of you previous choices are taken before your pick.

Most importantly, at the bottom of the listings is the save option. Once you have done this, go back and check to see if you draft picks saved or not.

This will DRAMATICALLY cut down on the draft times and the best way we are going to be able to finish before the season starts.

Questions?

Valkryie with back to back QB picks in Ednecks league, interesting. Did that happen because of the pre-draft thing? Or, did you do that on purpose?

I know what you mean Tim, I somehow ended up with Brees and McNabb in Ednecks. I don't think I even had McNabb on my predraft list, but it was late at night, for me, when I made the picks.

Damn, ended up with Kolb in both leagues, he just happen to be the best QB available when it was my turn. Hope he doesn't go down.

Hopefully he stays healthy is right Gashouse. I think he will have good numbers this year though, for whatever that's worth to you.

Funny thing also, you took him at 2:14 in one league and 3:14 in the other, just shows you how different the drafts go in each league. QBs went fast in one and not in the other.

Why take two QB's? WHo is his sponsor? Monkey man, quiet now. I will take my chances on with Johnson and Welker, im sure having the 1 and 2 leaders in receptions from last year wont hurt me much monkey. Yes, I heard Kolb wont be going down thsi year so you should be good...

I guess the thought on 2 QBs is that typically the QB is one of your biggest scorers so you get a backup for the bye week. In addition during the other weeks you have two chances at a big game from the QB spot, i.e., a 30 point game.

I guess that is the thought, I don't typically take 2 QBs but maybe I will this year.

Hey L'il Joey, I was going to take Welker but you beat me to it. I am just wondering though, how did I get J. Stewart in the 4th round? No injury.....

good pickup Gashouse, he would have ended up on my team if you hadn't picked him up, I had him at the top of my pre-draft list in the 4th round.

Yes this is a pay league and if memory serves me correctly it should be $50.

I would be willing to do the tresurer part. Jim/Buddy- Do you want me to handle this?

Ok, we have our treasurer and I will do the score keeping like last year if you want. I will be able to keep better tabs on it this year as i won't be stepping in to do it in Week 10 or so.

I will have to read up on how to insert charts on this, it will make it much easier for me, if not, I can just post the people kicked out and send the chart out via e-mail. That would probably be easier.

Let's get it on!!

Dez Bryant needs another 6 points (total of 12) for his PR TD.

I thought we argued that awhile back. The players only get points when playing in their assigned positions.
