I'm excited, I've not been in a Judy league before, and have heard (and seen) great things! I'm looking forward to this season!

Also apparently we're waiting a year to do this? 2013 RIFC AAA #2 is going to be a really slow draft ;)

OK I believe I did this right for Judy. If not, then I shouldn't volunteer to do this ever again and it'll be my one mistake :P

We take Judy's alphabetized list.

1. Building 7
2. Ghostwood
3. IAC
4. jaydog
5. kyle
6. letter J
7. mjd
8. nerf
9. russelldl
10. s_R
11. slackjawed
12. slowhand
13. taxman
14. YWK

Put them in IAC's order creating
13. taxman
7. mjd
6. letter J
2. Ghostwood
9. russelldl
1. Building 7
4. jaydog
5. kyle
14. YWK
8. nerf
11. slackjawed
10. s_R
3. IAC
12. slowhand

Put them in my randomized order (1, 13, 3, 12, 6, 4, 7, 5, 8, 14, 2, 11, 10, 9) getting:

1. taxman
13. iac

4. Ghostwood
7. jaydog
5. russelldl
8. Kyle

Which should be the draft pick selection order of
1. taxman
2. iac
3. letter j
4. s_R
5. Building 7
6. Ghostwood
7. jaydog
8. russelldl
9. Kyle
10. slowhand

I think the big boys are starting next Thursday?? the 23rd?? Officially?

I will open it up once I get some little commish things done. I don't want us to get too far ahead of the other leagues so we can peek at theirs drafts to see what is happening. MFL drafting goes really fast!

NEW RULES:

--All non-rostered players will be subject to a single weekly blind bidding waiver period, processing at noon on Wednesday. After this, all free agents will be available first come, first served, with no lockout for players dropped.

--$100 bidding budget per team.

--Blind bidding will continue throughout the playoffs. Unused bid balances will be carried forward from the regular season. In addition, each playoff team will receive an additional budget allocation equal to $2 times the seed value.

They also opened up the playoff roster positional add restrictions so that there are essentially none for teams in the playoffs.

Oh boy... we're using the blind bidding. For some reason I thought big boys and AAA #1 were going to try this and we were exempt from it. I like/dislike this idea, but I don't know how to fully feel about it until I'm either out of money or get screwed out of a player by $1 from a team who has a better record than me.

Also I'd be fine with starting the draft earlier so we are done by Labor Day since I'll be out of town (but not out of communication)

Just a note that I will be out of town from August 18 - August 27. I will have daily internet but might not be readily available. Queues will be my friend. With drafttime I managed to draft 6 rounds from a cruise ship using one daily check-in and queues.

Ok then -- will email this when I get upstairs...

Big boys/guru are opening their draft on Sunday August 26.

However, their clock will not start until Monday, August 27. If we adopt this we should finish by labor day, but we need to average 3/4 rounds per day.

I can open it anytime, but no one should feel pressure until Monday,

Using queues really helps. We will begin untimed...

Any thoughts? Especially from those in the first half of the draft...

My preference is to start as late as possible.....I don't like it when one of my First 3 picks gets injured in a preseason game.

I will be using queues almost exclusively.... as some of you know I have moved to Eastern Montana for work and 70- 80 hr weeks are the norm. The money is awesome but at 55 I'm old enough to be the father of 90% of the guys on my crew and I'm forced to ;as I heard one young man say to his mother "he works us into the ground all day and drinks us under the table at night" :-)

Yeah --- I went in to set the calendar and oops, it took the default. I fixed it.

In line with what the RIFC Big Boys are doing, I would like to open the draft on Sunday, August 26th around noon for anyone who wants to make picks.

It will officially open on Monday, August 27 at noon EDT.
At that point you need to have set Q's and be ready! I anticipate finishing no later than Sunday September 2!!

We need to do 3 - 4 rounds per day to keep up. Unlike Drafttime, there is not a designated picker for you, although I CAN pick for you. Be aware that if you set up a My Draft List player ranking, the computer will take the top player in that list automatically. Be sure that you want that...

To start out, there will be no clock, subject to change if the pace is too slow.

As agreed by RIFC, the initial waiver order is the reverse of the picking order and I have just set that. You can check it if you wish.

Blind bidding ties will be broken by this list for the two days of post draft bidding. After that the waiver order list will be turned off as ties will be broken by the standings -- worse team wins (until playoffs).

Look how many queues are already posted. And just wait until the draft actually starts.

Draft will open unofficially around noon tomorrow, Sunday.

I can see that 7 of our 14 managers have set up Q's for the first round. WIll you join them?

Also, from GURU:

After some discussion by our league, I've decided to amend our blind bidding setup to disallow conditional bids. While I think conditional bidding could be more flexible approach, it raises some complex interpretations that I don't fully understand, and I think we are better served to keep it simple, especially for the first year.

IAC, stop copying some of my draft picks! I'm definitely thinking that JPP pick was inspired by me :)
