Please post rationales here in groups of 5. They will not be edited. Be careful not to mention players who have not yet been drafted. Try to make them entertaining for us to read!!

Also, before your first one, please tell us why you selected your draft slot.

Use this format:

Slot #1 - Banzai or 3RR or whatever you want to call it aside, I just felt really hesitant about the group of RBs after Foster/Rice/McCoy. Having the 2nd pick selection, I was quite pleased to just jump headfirst for the #1 Pick. Unfortunately for me, as my brother and I tend to agree on similar drafting styles often, he decided to take the #2 Slot, thus, we’ll be “in each others way” throughout the draft.

1.01 - Arian Foster, RB, HOU - He’s the consensus #1. He’s a true 3-down back, in a system that runs the ball A LOT. His backup (“undrafted”) averages better yardage than him, thus I could see him approaching 100 touches as well, but they’ll still be plenty to justify my RB1. Foster is a very intelligent football player who works “his craft” very professionally... thus, I feel a little more comfortable with him than a flashy player like McFadden.

1st Round Notes: Not a lot of surprises. I think I would have held off on Stafford personally, and was a little surprised that DeMarco Murray slid out of this round.

2.14 - Trent Richardson, RB, CLE - They drafted him with high expectations, and has very little competition to his carries. The offence might not be as high-octane as other teams in the league (due to rookie QB), so I temper my expectations on the TD front... but I’m happy with him as my RB2.

2nd Round Notes: Wow! So many BIG BIG question mark players going early, I guess the players I felt were a little saffer were: Jimmy Graham/Julio Jones/Victor Cruz.

3.14 - Dez Bryant, WR, DAL - I think he could really have a BIG BIG year. He definitely has that Top 5 Wideout potential, so why not take a small gamble that he keeps his attitude in check this season.

3rd Round Notes: My Brother pulls a typical draft strategy for himself, by securing his 3rd HB before moving onto other positions. Martin might be the “steal” of this round, although most of these picks were really solid, I wasn’t fond of Turner. From the games I seen him play in this preseason, he looks like he’s running in sand out there.

4.14/5.01 Turn - Aaron Hernandez, TE, NE/Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, NYG - Hernandez/Brady connection looks a tighter this year than Gronk/Brady so far. I think Hernandez will out-yardage/reception Gronk, but with lesser TDs. The odd run play where he avg’d very nice numbers last year is a little bonus. JPP... I really am not fond of taking IDP this early, but there is just a HUGE dropoff after the Top 2-3 DLs go off, that I wanted to make sure I had one of them. “undrafted DL” was really high on my list too, but the age factor made me turn this way.

Round 4 Notes: A little surprised by a few of the RBs selected Jennings for instance, but not much else.

Slot #13. Didnt have much choice - 10 or 12, took 10 to get more towards the middle.

1.10 Matt Stafford, QB DET
I wanted a QB/WR here, as I did last year, and was a bit surprised to see a few off the board already. Stafford is more injury prone than the other top QB's, but when he's in there he is one of the best. I expect to have 300+ points again from my QB spot.

2.05 Victor Cruz, WR NYG
RB choices at this point were quite slim and the value seemed to be in WR. But who to take? This was my quandry while standing in the Orlando airport food court 20 minutes before my flight. With no way to research at all, I took a stab at Victor Cruz, who came out of nowhere last year to be the #1 target for the Giants. I think he will be one of the best WR's for a long time.

3.05 Fred Jackson, RB BUF
By the time I got off that flight, it had gotten back to me already. So here I was walking out of the airport, getting luggage, etc, AND making a draft pick. I knew I needed a RB here, and the selections were quite reasonable. I went with the more explosive of players in Fred Jackson, who had one of the best PPG of all RB's last year before getting hurt. He'll be pushed a bit by his backup this year, but I think he'll be a fine solid #1 RB.

4.05 Frank Gore, RB SF
This pick is an example of why I don't like making queues a round early. I wanted RB #2 here so my queue was all RB's, but something I didnt notice while making the list was bye weeks. Gore was the third or fourth RB on my list so I didnt actually expect to get him, and his bye week is the same as Jackson's. DUH! Oh well, it's happened before. Gore I'm sure will be fine, if unspectacular.

5.10 Josh Cribbs, WR CLE
Cribbs has always been the overlooked WR of most drafts of the past 4 years because his value comes from kick returning, which no system projects or accounts for. But he gets about 7 PPG in return yard points alone, and the 400 or so receiving yards is just icing on the cake. Also those return yards tend to be more consistent. He's very seldom going to put up a 1 point stinker.

Even moreso this year than last, the first two rounds are dominated by the passing game - very unlike how this draft went even three seasons ago. Just like in baseball we are seeing a dramatic shift in how the game is played stat-wise, and it's interesting to me to see the shift in strategy. If it keeps going in this direction we might even see QB's taken in the first 3 picks.

I had the 5th choice for draft slots and selected #8. 1-3 & 7 were gone. I was hoping to get a stud QB at #8. I would have taken Stafford if Brees was gone. I also wanted to pick in the middle due to my theory on perceived bargains, which rewards picking in the middle.

1.08 Drew Brees, QB, NO I won AAA a couple years ago with Brees at the helm. I don’t even think they need a coach with Brees in the huddle.

2.07 MJ Drew, RB, JAC He said he would draft himself in the 1st round. Probably should have taken Trent Richardson.

3.07 Hakeem Nicks, WR, NYG You need a lot of WR’s in this league, and Nicks can play every week…..as long as he’s not hurt. Also, looked hard at Doug Martin.

4.07 Willis McGahee, RB, DEN I’m hoping he gets more TD’s with the new QB. They have about 9 running backs, though, so I’m not sure what will happen.

5.08 Dwayne Bowe, WR, KC, I had this guy ranked a round earlier, plus I needed a WR. Also considered Hernandez, TE.

0.08 5th Position

In the Banzai format I'll take something in the top tier so long as there's a strong consensus who belongs there. As soon as rankings start to get iffy or disputable I would go straight to the bottom to pick a position, somewhere between 12 and 14.

I saw a consensus group of 6 so I was willing to take anything from 1 through 6. That was pretty stupid actually, because the size of the top tier is actually 5, not 6, so according to my theorizing position 6 is therefore the worst one to have. I may have sloppily been including Jones-Drew in there. Luckily position 6 was occupied when I got to pick so I grabbed #5 rather than going to the bottom.

1.05 Calvin Johnson, WR, Det

There was a clear expert consensus, followed as well in 3 of the RIFC drafts: the 3 running backs, Rodgers, and Johnson. Megatron was the one who has left for me so I took him.

2.10 Jamaal Charles, RB, KC

A running back was the clear priority here. Charles was top on my list, although I suspect that Steven Jackson (2.12) will have the better year. But I own him in AA so why not hedge my bet. Reports on his recovery from the ACL are good. If he takes a few weeks to warm up fully...well that's better than fading from fatigue at the end. No doubt he has the talent to be a top-10 producer.

3.10 Matt Ryan, QB, Atl

I don't usually 'target' players in drafts. I look for value or the best available. But Ryan was a target in this draft. There's been no QB look better over the last few weeks and Ryan has been moving up on the expert cheatsheets, passing P. Manning, Roethlisgerdz, Rivers, Romo and maybe even Eli Manning. Vick has more potential but is a high-risk proposition.

Ryan has had the talent, but underperformed. I look for him to put it all together, rather like the way Eli Manning has.

I would have preferred to look for Ryan in mid-4th round, but I don't pick there, and I didn't think he'd survive till my next pick among this bunch so i pulled the trigger. If I'm wrong about this, I deserve whatever happens to me.

4.10 Shonn Greene

Getting a little worried about the quality of RB2. Didn't help that when I thought of drafting Greene repressed memories from last year surfaced -- a supposed 'bell cow' doing very little any time I watched him.

But I need a running back. I prefer him to Helu and (my next choice) Green-Ellis, the only backs taken in the next 18 picks,

There's a difference of opinion about Greene. In the other RIFC leagues he's gone at 4.10. 5.12 and 6.08. (Am I getting into a pattern here of taking players before the RIFC consensus?) But he's the 25th back taken, and on the consensus of experts who have had the best track record of multi-year running back accuracy he's listed 22nd.

He'll have to do.

5.05 Brandon Lloyd, WR, NE

Needing a WR2 here. Lloyd goes into a scheme he likes and gets himself a quarterback; but is 31 and has heavy competition for targets.

Lloyd's role is distinctive so he'll get enough usage to be valuable. In the other RIFC leagues he went at 4.05, 4.10 and 5.04 so he would seem to be worth the pick here.

7th pick I had 1st choice of draft picks and decided that picking the 7th slot would be close to picking in the middle of each round. Can't explain why that sounded good...only that it sounded better than picking 1st and not picking again until the 28th pick..or picking 14th and 15th which I did last year when all stud players off board and seemingly caused me to be 1 round behind everyone in picking impact players.

1.07 Tom Brady, NE, QB SURPRISE!! Never dreamed I would be in the Brady sweepstakes as I had him as the 5th pick in my queue and figured he would go either 4th or 5th. With Brady it's usually feast or famine. This year should be feast with addition of Brandon LLoyd. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks in the season he will not be among top 3 QB scores, thus setting a foundation for creating a high scoring team. Never had Brady before this year.

2.08 (pick #22) Wes Walker, NE, WR What the hey.. didn't particularly want another PAT in a skill position, but Welker seems to consistently generate better than average numbers on his off weeks and can put up monster scores 2-3 times a season. Better potential consistent point production and occasional "blow out" weeks than any RB's on the board. Never had Welker before.

3.08 (pick #36) Brandon Marshall, CHI, WR
Wow, some consolation prize. My queue of RB's had been picked clean, leaving Marshall at top of queue. Marshall put up monster numbers in Denver with Cutler and like Welker, Marshall can deliver several monster scores during a season that will will build big scores and provide descent numbers on the other weeks. Again, another 1st time player for me.

4.08 (pick #50) Rashard Jennings, JAC, RB Finally a RB. Could turn out to be a great pick in light of MJD's continuing hold out. I definitely hope Drew remains a man of principal, albeit stupid, and holds until week 10. Jennings can produce low end RB 1 numbers and with my WR's, I don't need him to be a superman to win most match ups.

5.07 (pick #63) DeSean Jackson, PHI, WR I set my queue aiming at TE's Aaron Hernendez and Gates. As we all know, putting your desired players in your queue is a plea to the rest of the league to draft them before your turn. It worked. Welcome mister inconsistent. Jackson is an elite receiver and is a constant home-run threat. I think there will be a razor's edge difference between the season stats Jackson puts up compared to Maclin, however, Jackson will do it on fewer receptions while gaining 2-3 yards more per reception. Problem is that Jackson will disappear in several games each year delivering zero points. Guess you hafta to take the bad with the good. Another first time player for me.

DRAFT SLOT:
Evens = 6; Odds = 9.

I really had no choice in this slot. I wanted McCoy but the first three slots were gone and I was sure he would not last to #4, if that.

So I decided to cancel out the effect of the Bonzai order by picking the highest most middle slot left and that was #6.

1.06 Chris Johnson TENN RB

The first picks in the draft are the same for all drafts I have seen although the order of Foster, Rice and McCoy does change. I really did not want a QB here if possible, so when Slow took Rodgers, I did not flinch. (Brady and Brees went right after me.)
I really wanted Calvin, but Toral took him. At this point it was between CJ2K and McFadden. It was a tossup, so I tossed a coin. Heads = CJ2K. He had better have a bounce back year. I also have him in another league, so my cheering is 2X.

2.09 Julio Jones ATL WR

Absolutely no clue where to go next. Trying a new strategy which I will reveal -- since it will not be obvious and maybe not even to me!! -- at a later date and time. Do not yet want a QB, but want a points machine, hopefully one on a winning team..
I made a Q for fun right after my 1.06 pick and it was picked clean by the time it was my turn at 2.09 (16 slots later)! Great minds think alike!!!

I have to say I was shocked when Julio got back to me. There is a tremendous amount of hype over this kid for his second year. My biggest worry is that he starts strong out of the gate and they decide to single cover him, and his stats suffer as a result. I am looking for 1000+ yards and 10 TD’s. I am hoping he performs well weekly, not just in spurts of awesome and then ordinary.

3.09 Marques Colston NO WR

I was going to go either WR or RB here depending upon who was left. A bunch of wides went before me and I did not see any awesome RB so I went with Colston. I think I have drafted Colston just about every year he has been in the league! He had a “down” year last year, but I expect Brees to target him early and often. BUT he needs to keep that knee healthy! I am looking for 1000+ yards and 10 TD’s -- just like Julio. They could be a special pair…

(NB. I was thinking of the RB Martin TB here, but when their big guard went down, I backed off.)

4.09 Steven Ridley NEP RB

At this point in the draft the RB#1 were mostly gone, and teams left were RBBC which is a fantasy disaster! I usually try to shy away from NEP RB as it is usually RBBC and you can pick the wrong one. However, this Ridley dude seems to be far and away the front runner. I sure hope so. I am not so confident about the NEP passing game, even with Brady, so perhaps this guy will help take the load off Brady’s shoulders. Or not. You just cannot trust that Belichik guy! 1000+ yards rushing and receiving and 6-7 TD’s would be a nice haul.

5.06 Antonio Brown PIT WR

I was really hoping that Maclin would fall to me, but he was snatched by letter J at 4.13. He and his brother keep raiding my Q! Brown was my next target, so I was glad to see him still there -- actually I didn’t see him still there, the computer did…

Forget about Wallace, this guy is the real deal. He’s is bigger, quicker and more reliable. Big Ben will need all the help he can get this season, as the running game looks to be caput! I see 1000+ yards and 7-8 TD’s as a reasonable goal for Antonio. He did some PR last year, not sure if he will this year though.

Draft Spot Selection #9, Pick 0.11
When I came up I had the choice between 4 and anything after 10. I should have taken 4 in hind sight because the players I thought would fall down to me (Brady, Brees, or Megatron) didn't fall and I would have loved to have either a top 3 RB or Rodgers. Now to what I did with #11...

1.11 Larry Fitzgerald, WR, ARI
(AAA#2: 2nd WR 11ovr ; RIFC Avg: 2.75WR 17.75ovr)

I really like Fitz, and I think he'll be the #2 WR in this league format. That said I think he's a stretch first rounder, but I didn't like anyone who was picked between here and my next pick in this slot either. If he can put up consistant points each week I'll be happy. I'm looking for something like 14-15 ppw, so I'm not being too greedy, just consistancy.

Dear Arizona QB, please throw the ball only to Larry and throw it so only he can catch it. Remember he's a good 5-6 inches taller than every DB in the league, so the higher the better. Thanks. ~Kyle

2.04 Darren Sproles, RB, NO
(AAA#2: 10th RB 18ovr ; RIFC Avg: 9.5RB 18ovr)

This is the player I was really targetting when picking 11th/4th. I didn't believe he would fall any further, and I think at 18th overall he's got great value. Personally I feel he's a top 5 RB in this format with 1300 total yards from scrimmage, 500 PR yards and 1000 KR yards to go along with 9 total TDs. The defense has lost a ton due to a lot of circumstances so he could see his KR yards go up, and I think the team will be running the ball more, trying to keep said defense off the field. Sproles could see another record breaking year this year.

3.04 A.J. Green , WR, CIN
(AAA#2: 10th WR 32ovr ; RIFC Avg: 7.5WR 30.5ovr)

One of the reason I picked the 11 spot was so I could get that third round reversal boost. #11 netted me a chance to draft another top 5 WR, which is great. Megatron 2.0. This guy is going to be a beast. How much do I like this guy? I like this guy a ton and I feel like he'll be the 2nd or 3rd WR off the board and a late 1st or 2nd next year.

4.04 Reggie Bush, RB, MIA
(AAA#2: 20th RB 46ovr ; RIFC Avg: 21RB 45.25ovr)

He said on Hard Knocks he's going to lead the league in rushing. If he can put up double digit points every week and stay healthy, I'll consider this a good pick. I have some security in my next pick though. I wanted other players though.

5.11 BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB, CIN
(AAA#2: 27th RB 67ovr ; RIFC Avg: 24.5RB 58.5ovr)

I think this could be a real sleeper this year. Cincy's got a good passing game, a good defense, and a decent offensive line. With *undrafted workhorse* gone they've got about 200 carries to replace. If he can get 4.4ypc and gets the goalline duties, then he's a solid pick up. He's also a pretty decent RB2 or 3. If he can't stay healthy, then he's a RB3 who might be a nice bye week fill-in.

Overall pick 1-5 feeling
I like how this team is shaping up, but I would have preferred the RBs Turner, Bradshaw, Martin or the QBs, Manning, Manning and Ryan at pick 4, but they all got picked right before me. Reggie will do. Going into round 4 I had one of those 6 pegged, and if the unlikely event of one of them falling to me at 5 happened I'd go with them or BJGE. I got BJGE and a guy I'm not overly thrilled with. 1-3 I'm really happy, even though Fitz was a stretch. Only Fitz was the one I drafted over his RIFC average.

I was 11th to pick my draft slot, would have taken the 4th pick, but it was chosen just prior to me, so to take full advantage of the 3RR, I chose to pick 14th at the turn. With my first 6 picks, my plan was to get 3 WR/TE, and at least 2 RBs.

1.14 Rob Gronkowski, TE, NE I had Cam Newton queued up, but figured correctly that he would be gone. Going with my original plan. I chose Gronk over Jimmy Graham pretty much by coin flip, as I see them very closely ranked .

2.01 Adrian Peterson, RB, MIN DeMarco Murray would have been the consensus pick here, but his injury history in college and last season, his rookie year, scared me off. AP is also not without some major risk, as he’s coming off a pretty severe injury himself, plus multiple season’s of wear and tear.

3.01 Roddy White, WR, ATL was among a group of similar valued WR I had queued up for 3.01. The others fell off the board right after him, but without the 3RR, I wouldn't have had a shot at any of them.

4.01 Payton Manning, QB, DEN I don’t take much heed in preseason action, but I saw his most recent preseason game and he looks very good and getting better, so I couldn’t resist picking him. It'll be interesting to see how he fairs not playing nost of his games indoors.

In past seasons, a tandem of Payton and AP would be a pretty formidable team. I hope “team rehab” stays healthy and remembers how to put up the points.

5.14 Titus Young, WR, DET was left on my queue after a long list of preferred WRs and RBs disappeared during the 27 picks I waited from 4.01. Hopefully he can avoid off field issues that have plagued his past and let his natural talent and speed make the headlines. He also looks to be in line to handle the return duties as a bonus.

Slot Selection #3

I did not expect to get one of the top two slots, so I was very pleased to take the #2 pick. By doing so, I am guaranteed to wind up with either Ray Rice or Arian Foster.

I also thought long and hard about #3, so as to put a little distance between my brother IAC and I. However, in the end, I rated Rice higher than Shady McCoy, and elected to go this route.

1.02 Ray Rice, RB, BAL

There is no doubt that there is a dearth of elite RBs. And as stated above, I rated Foster and Rice at the very top of that list. So, when IAC selected Foster, the decision was made for me.

Rice scored 12 touchdowns on the ground, three more through the air, and had more than 2,000 total yards from scrimmage. These numbers led to Rice being the #1 running back in our scoring system. Further, Rice is the goal line back and is not in a time share in Baltimore.

Most pleased to have landed Rice.

2.13 Ryan Matthews, RB, SDG

I repeat: there is a dearth of elite RBs. And a month ago, Matthews was going anywhere from 4-10. Yet, as a result of injury concerns coming into the season, and an injury that resulted from (IIRC) his first carry of the pre-season, Matthews falls to the end of the second round. Rather than selecting from the first tier of WR’s, I elect to take my second RB.

Matthews – top 10 at RB last year – lost his (undrafted) TD vulture this off-season, and is also not in a time share (provided he gets and stays healthy). At the time I selected Matthews, it was being reported that he could very well miss the first two weeks of the season. If he does indeed miss time to start the season, I’ll need a contingency plan in place for a starting RB.

To me, the risk/reward payoff here was just too great to pass up.

3.13 Doug Martin, RB, TBB

Martin has, according to his coach at this stage of the draft, won the starting job for the Bucs as a rookie. The reason: his (undrafted) competition for the job does nothing better than this first round pick that is also a good receiver out of the backfield. Losing O-lineman Joseph scares me a little, but I decide to lock up a third starting RB due to the possibility of Matthews sitting the first couple of weeks.

When I drafted Martin, IMHO there was so much depth left at the WR position and yet the RB pool was getting thin, so I decided to select a third RB.

4.13 Jeremy Maclin, RB, PHI

One of two bigtime WR’s in Philadelphia, Maclin has above-average speed, although he does not possess the breakaway speed of the other Eagles’ WR that is yet undrafted. I owned the other receiver last year, but he is way too inconsistent for my liking.

It was as simple as the fact that the time had come to draft WR’s, and I had Maclin at the top of the list of what was left. I think he’s a safe pick, with some upside.

5.02 Antonio Gates, TE, SDG

I was all set to draft a second WR, and looked at my cheat sheet and Gates sits at the top of my sheet. Given that Vincent Jackson has left town, I figure Gates is his (undrafted) QB's primary target downfield.

I am most likely going to draft a second TE, and figure Gates, if healthy, is good for 1000 yds and 8-10 TD’s, so I could very well use him as a WR #3.

pick 13 - There weren't a whole lot of available slots when I was selecting. I ended up picking 13th as it was close to the end. I tend to have a minimum of 7 hours of meetings scheduled a day, so not having to check in continuously would be a plus. In retrospect, I think with the bonzai draft, I liked what was available being at the end.

1.13 Cam Newton, QB, Car
His upside was too much to pass up on. Probably seeing the Sunday night game and their stat about him accounting for more touchdowns last year than like 10 other teams also swayed me here. Higher than I've ever grabbed a QB before, so the rest of the draft is going to proceed quite a bit different than what I've been used to.

2.02 DeMarco Murray, Rb, Dal
Had been thinking hard about getting Gronk or Graham here. But, with my first pick being a QB, while I could still get a solid RB I figured I need to do it now. This would allow me to get a top WR in the third round instead of having to settle for a RB. If Gronk had still been on the board this might have been an even tougher decision than it was. Murray certainly took over the running back position in Dallas last year, but he's probably not as sure of a thing as what I would like with my top RB.

3.02 Andre Johnson, WR, Hou
Trent Richardson was looming large on the horizon as I was preparing for this pick. If he was still around, I would have been very tempted to forego my plan of getting my first receiver with this pick. IAC picked him with the final pick of the second round making my decision process all the easier. I had Andre Johsnon and AJ Green as remaining top-tier guys who were still available. I queued these up 1 and 2 with one pick until mine. AJ Green probably has more of an upside, and Johnson is perpetually an injury risk, but I thought he was more of a known quantity. Big things are expected from the Texans this year, and Johnson will need to be a big part of that.

4.02 Ahmahd Bradshaw, RB, NYG
Looked for best available here after a couple of WR's I'd been targeting went off the board. Bradshaw should be a solid source of TD's - he had 9 last year despite being limited to 12 games. It was either him or Gore, but I think Gore's getting too many miles on him and felt safer with the Bradshaw pick.

5.13 Torrey Smith, WR, Bal - I was all set to take Jared Allen here and then not have to worry about DL's. But he was snagged right before my turn. I opted instead of picking some receivers. As mjd (who has the two picks before my next pick - ah the joy of picking right near the end), already had a TE in Gronk, I figured I could wait until my 6th pick to grab a TE, and looked to get the best available WR here. Smtih really came out of nowhere last year, has the size and speed to be a standout. I checked him out to see what he'd been doing this preseason and saw he had a 100 yard receiving game his last outing with 8 receptions. that'll do.

1.12 – Matt Forte, RB, CHI One of the lessons I learned from last season’s disaster in RIFC is I need to take care of my running backs first (though some may disagree with this), especially considering my first two RB picks last year were Jamaal Charles and James Starks (and you know what happened then). I left a queue for taking DMC here but he was not available at 10th overall with his potential of being top fantasy running back. Thus, I (or the computer) took Forte, which may be a little bit reach because of the presence of Michael Bush and Cutler’s recent comments that he is going to throw less frequently to Forte than he did last year.

2.03 – Marshawn Lynch, RB, SEA Thought about taking Murray here and set up a queue for that (but Murray was taken just before my pick came around). If Lynch could stay healthy and away from off-field troubles, he could be having more opportunities to turn on his beast mode.

3.12 – Percy Harvin, WR, MIN Took Harvin as my first WR here despite he may not be ranked this high. But I think he should be an asset in PPP-league since he could be functioning as a running back in some occasions. And it will be nicer if he could find the end zone more often after the chemistry between him and Ponder is further developed/established.

4.03 – Eli Manning, QB, NYG Decided to do QB with my fourth pick rather than wait for last minute to make any emergency move (I settled for Big Ben last year). Initially, I targeted Matt Ryan here but he was taken several picks earlier (again!) And after Peyton Manning was taken also I chose to go with Eli.

5.12 – Jared Allen, DE, MIN Making picks almost exclusively with queues in terms of ADP sometimes may not be totally in line with my draft strategy (if any). Don’t get me wrong---Allen is a very good pick with his sacks capability, but if I did draft live I would tend not to pick an IDP player this early after my last season’s Suh and Pat Chung disaster (another lesson learned).

I selected the 9th overall pick due to the Bonzai. Outside of the overall top 3 I did not feel a burning desire to pick early, and wanted the value of picking earlier in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds.

1.09 Darren McFadden, RB, Oak If Drew Brees had made it to me here I would have selected him, but I like McFadden as a consolation prize. When healthy he should threaten the top 3 RB's in PPG. His health is a big question mark, but he enters camp healthy and with little competition for carries in Oakland, could end up a steal.

2.06 Jimmy Graham, TE, NO When I started the draft I told myself there was NO WAY that I was going to reach for one of the two elite TE's. When it got to me in the second round though, I didn't see how I could pass him up. In the mid second round, I didn't feel that it was a reach given his production and the positional dropoff after him. I would have taken Sproles had he made it to me, but once he left I talked myself into Graham.

3.06 Jordy Nelson, WR, GB I didn't LOVE anyone on the board here. It was too early for many of the QB options that I was targeting, and none of the available RB's interested me either. I settled on drafting a WR and picked Jordy Nelson. It would be unreasonable to expect the same production as last year, but also wouldn't shock me. His QB is fantastic (and seemingly getting better), and should be a solid fixture at the top of my WR corps.

4.06, Mike Wallace, WR, PIT I really wanted Eli Manning to fall to me here. I was getting anxious about the QB position, didn't want to go that much longer without locking up my QB1. After Manning left, I almost selected Romo but decided that he would probably make it back to me, and if not I wouldn't be that upset. I ended up selecting Mike Wallace. Don't love the player, but can't argue with the production. Only one game under 7 points last year, and with teams having to pay more attention to Antonio Brown, I'm hoping he gets more single coverage to exploit. It's a contract year for him too which can't hurt!

5.09, Tony Romo, QB, DAL Love it when a plan comes together!! I passed on Romo in the 4th round thinking he had a good chance to make it back to me, and was right! I felt Romo was the last 2nd tier QB left. Never tops the leaderboards in any category, but consistently throws 30+ touchdowns and has most of his receiving studs back. Certainly won't ride Romo to a championship, but will most likely be happy with his production every week.

I had always planned to take the highest pick available;even given the banzai format, and was quite happy to pick 4th.

1.04 Aaron Rodgers QB,GB This was exactly why I wanted to pick early; I had tried to get him the last 2 years but he was picked earlier than I planned. I'm pretty convinced the top teams in any format this year will have Rodgers, Brees, or Brady. I Had McCoy queued up also and would have been happy with him had Rodgers been gone.

2.11 Greg Jennings WR,GB Actually I'm happy to pick Jennings up here. It will be a bit tough on GB's bye week but I never really worry about byes as I want the best player available and am willing to sacrifice a week or 2 to get them. I did have a few RBs in front of Jennings but feel this potent duo will serve me well. Although IIRC this is the 1st time in any draft I didn't take a RB with 1 of my 1st 2 picks, we shall see.

3.11 Micheal Turner RB, ATL My happiness with my 1st 2 picks notwithstanding; really happy to get a RB here, I had several queued up and was kind of surprised Tuner was still here. The last couple of years he had gone much higher but even with injury concerns and Atlanta's focus on the pass I think Turner is a steal here.

4.11 Vincent Jackson WR, TB Not too sure aout this pick. I would have definately prefered a RB here, but a run just before my pick took the guys I had queued up (I really wanted Gore) . On the plus side Jackson remains a big play threat and with a new home and IMHO an underrated Josh Freeman throwing to him in a pass happy league there is a definte upside.

5.11 Roy Helu RB, Wash. Don't really know too much about him other than I got him about where he had been going in most other drafts and it looks like he will carry most of the load in Wash. RG3 will likely steal some carries (my concern is especially at the goal line) but hopefully Helu will get enough to justify his pick. Also if Griffin is not as good as advertised or gets injured this could be a great pick.
