16.09 Alfred Morris WASH RB

The news out of WASH is good for this guy. He is a rookie who has managed to work his way past the wounded veterans on the team. Whether he will hold onto the spot is anyone’s guess. Shanny is notorious for flip flopping his RB’s. Just because you are good one week does not mean you will play the next. One lousy quarter and out you go! Morris is not even given a ranking on one cheat site I use!! The other cheat sheet made the change to make him the #1 RB and GLB, so we shall see what happens. He did not play in the final preseason game… RGII will need a decent running game to stay healthy and productive and who knows, Morris just might provide that…? I HATE being at the whims of Shanny...This could end up a bad pick...

17.06 David Akers SF PK

One of the biggest mistakes Andy Reid made was dumping Akers after he missed the FG in 2010, during a week when Akers had just received news that his daughter had a rare form of cancer, AND his financial advisor was a crook. Heartless. I know sports is a business, but your family is your family. Akers rebounded nicely in SFO and I am delighted to grab him again -- a bit early, but I wanted him. So there!

18.09 Brian Quick STL WR

Here it was time to add a few back ups and bye week folks. Quick was the 33rd player drafted this spring so obviously good things are expected from him.. He is a big kid with a huge 81 inch wingspan -- that’s 6.75 feet folks!! He is currently listed as their WR3. He has been compared to Colston -- that would be nice. Colston was out of Hofstra (no more football there) and Quick is out of Appalachian State, both low tier programs. The only question seems to be if he can handle this level of competition. He should be targeted often by Bradford as the Rams will probably be playing a ton of catchup ball this fall!

19.06 Joel Dreessen DEN TE

We all know how much Peyton loves the TE position and I needed another one to complement Cook. There are some reports that they will copy the NEP 2 TE scheme. Whatever, the season will tell. Tamme is the clear #1TE, but Dressen will not be abandoned. He did have 10 TD with Houston over two years. Maybe he’ll be the end zone guy while the defenses cover Tamme. I can hope. Or he could just be a bye week replacement for Cook…

20.09 Jordan Babineaux TEN DB

I have been neglecting my IDP’s while others have be adding them like crazy, so it was time to go forth and take some for myself. I missed out on a couple that I wanted (Mikell, D and J McCourty, Alterraun) but it will all work out. Babineaux is a strong safety so maybe he will wander over and get in on a lot of tackles, but not share the ones he gets to first. 70+ combined tackles is all I expect from him. Oh well. I usually have great DB, but not so far this year except for Barron who should be awesome!

16.14/17.01 Turn - Jake Locker, QB, TEN/Emmanuel Sanders, WR PIT - Locker no longer holds the clipboard, he’s been given the OK to be THE MAN for the Titans. I temper my expectations that he will go through some growing pains, especially at first in the year, but realistically, I hope not to have to start him except for a bye week fill-in, and one or two matchup related games. Sanders... Is the #3 Option in a Pittsburgh passing game that looks to be forced to go pass heavy. Also, with the emergence of Antonio Brown as a starter, Sanders now is the favorite to handle both kicks and punts.

18.14/19.01 Turn - TJ Ward, SS, CLE/Lavonte David, WLB, TB - Strong Safety tends to be my “target position” of preference when selecting DBs. Ward can really rack up the tackles, but doesn’t do much else. As the 252nd player in the draft, I’m happy with him. Lavonte David... WLB in the Tampa-2 is a great position to play in. He’s got a shot at playing on all 3 downs, and is considered the best LB prospect that Tampa has had in years. He’s currently penciled in as my starting Flex-IDP, and he doesn’t share the same bye week as any of my other IDPs so far, so I’m extremely happy with this pick.

20.14 Adrian Clayborn, DL, TB - I had real difficulty with this pick. I hadn’t mocked this late, and I find myself scrounging for what direction to take right now. I’m not sure if it was worth taking a DL here, or just waiting till the 24th round... I might have flubbed... in any case, Clayborn is a solid 2nd year player that should see extra play time this year due to an excellent rookie season. He’s got great pedigree... hoping he justifies the pick.

16.10 Pierre Thomas, RB, NO

On Rotowire's "Opportunity Neutral Cheat sheet", ranking players as if they had an equal number of touches, Thomas ranked 5th among running backs. That is he performs at a first-round ability level, but his touches are limited in the Saints' crowded backfield. To me that makes him ideal to plug in when there's a hole some week -- it's not like you're hoping he gets a job, he has a good job, it's just part-time..

17.05 James Anderson, LB, Car

Screwup. A few times before drafting I had thought I had discovered that I had a bye-week overlap where one shouldn't be, but on triple checking I found that I had done it right. This time the messup was real -- I had Kuechly's bye week wrong on my roster sheet (you might have though I would have noticed picking two IDPs from the same team....). Quite possibly by week 6 there'll be other people I prefer for the flex position.

Also considered here: Foster (17.11), David (19.01)

18.10 Jon Baldwin, WR, K.C.

A 2011 first round draft pick who had a 'good offseason' and impressed in OTAs and early camp -- altho showing nothing in the games. Didn't have many games together with Cassel last year to learn to work together.

Also considered here: Davone Bess (20.05), Michael Floyd (20.10)

19.05 Bernard Scott, RB, Cin

I read that Scott could take over a lot of work from Law Firm, even that we can expect a timeshare right now and for Scott to take over the job later in the season. I also read that Scott is a no-hoper who has no chance of doing these things, but I prefer to be an optimist.

Also considered here: Ronnie Brown (19.08) -- should have picked him.

20.10 Michael Floyd, WR, Ari

I was considering him two rounds ago, so why not? Not really much standing between him and the #2 job.

16.04 Shane Vereen, RB, NE

A 4th RB is a must in this league. I grabbed New England's backup who's getting a lot of hype in training camp and has passed up the guy who was supposed to be their 3rd down scat back and the former star of the NYJ's Hard Knocks series. I think he could have a solid season if anything happens to Ridley.

17.11 Mason Foster, LB, TB

An IDP who's fallen some from where he probably would have been drafted if his hamstring had not been ailing him. He could get 85 solos from the MLB spot and if he's injured more often than healthy, then he can be cut with no hard feelings.

18.04 Ronnie Hillman, RB, DEN

A 5th RB is nice. I actually had Daniel Thomas targeted here so I could handcuff Bush. I probably should have grabbed him in the 17th now that I look at it, but I'll survive. Hillman's gotten a lot of good press out of Denver, and McGahee isn't going to be healthy all year long.

19.11 Sam Bradford, QB, STL

After 5 RBs, 4 WRs, 7 IDPs and a TE, I figured a backup to a guy who got hurt last year would be a good idea. Bradford looked great his rookie campaign and fell into a sophmore slump last year. With some more weapons, and a full offseason to recover from injuries I could see a good bounce back from Bradford.

20.04 Dashon Goldson, DB, SF

I'm a little shocked he made it this far. This is a safety who has had a pretty good stretch of years. In the 14 games he played last year he averaged close to 7 pts/game. He had similar stats in '09 and '10. If he does that he could become a starter for me.

16.06, Brandon LaFell, WR, CAR As much as I hated my previous pick (S. Moss) I love this pick. Many people have rated LaFell as a great potential sleeper candidate. He had a few good games last year, and as the starting #2 receiver along side S. Smith he should have plenty of opportunities to have a great season. Smith won't surprise anyone like he did last year, and should draw most of the coverage, hopefully leaving a lot of catchers for LaFell. Wouldn't suprise me at all if LaFell is starting for me by the 2nd half of the year, and if he doesn't, who cares... he's my 5th receiver!!

17.09, Taiwan Jones, RB, OAK Given McFadden's injury past, I wanted to make sure I grabbed his handcuff. Don't know much about Jones, but as McFadden's backup, with no one else on the board that jumped out at me, I figured I'd lock him up.

18.06, Robert Quinn, DL, STL Only starting spot I had left on my team was my 2nd DL and Quinn was the last player on my list of DL's to target. He was very mediocre in his rookie year, but did show some flashes. Chris Long will get all of the double teams on the St. Louis defensive line, and hopefully Quinn can take advantage. St. Louis must have seen a lot of talent in him to take him in the first round last year, and hopefully he realizes that potential this year.

19.09, John Skelton, QB, ARI Romo has been a pretty reliable QB the past several years, so I didn't overextend on a backup. I figured whoever the backup QB in Dallas is will be better than anyone I could grab at this point in the draft. I generally don't like drafting for bye weeks, but Skelton is exactly that. In Romo's bye week, Skelton goes against the Vikings who were terrible against the pass last year. If Skelton doesn't win the starting job, I'll look elsewhere for my Bye week QB, but as long as he plays, he has a pretty tasty matchup for week 5.

20.06, Brandon Jacobs, RB, SF Having locked up all of my starters I started looking for depth. I felt pretty good about Moss and LaFell as backup WR's, so figured I'd add another RB in Jacobs. Obviously not flashy by any means, but always has the potential to get in the end zone. Hard to find that this late in the draft.

16.05 Javier Arenas, DB KC
I had Avril #1 in my queue for this pick but that didn't work out, so Arenas was my #2. I had Arenas last year and he was very good as a DB, plus adding points as a punt returner. If he continues his good work at both jobs, he will be a good #2 DB.

17.10 Mike Tolbert, RB CAR
I'm not sure what to think of Tolbert who was good last year as Matthews replacement in SD, but now comes into a loaded backfield that has always been a bit overfilled. However, his true value is as a pass catcher, so I think at this point he can come in handy in case of injury and get me 60 yards in a game.

18.05 Jeremy Mincey, DL JAC
I needed a second DL and Mincey was the best available - about the only DL left that actually had a decent amount of sacks last year. My strength is definitely not in my DL's this year, but I have solid performers who probably won't hurt me.

19.10 Tamba Hali, LB KC
This was a bit of a steal as he had a great season last year, but is suspended for game 1 of the season this year. Thus he fell way down the draft. Hali is the backfield playmaker for the Chiefs and will get his sacks and TFL's. He should fill in admirably and possibly even end up starting for the bulk of the season.

20.05 Devone Bess, WR MIA
Tannehill has looked good in the preseason but the question for Dolphins fans is who will he throw to? Bess is obviously the best target the Dolphins have left and I think he has the talent to be as good as Wes Welker in the right system. This could be a real steal.

16.01 Alshon Jeffrey, WR, CHI My 4th Chicago player and I’m not even a loyal Bears fan. The duo of Jeffrey and Marshall is a great match for Jay Cutler's skills because the quarterback is excellent at squeezing the ball into tight spots and needs receivers that can take and dish out physical play. The rookie has the size, strength, skill in tight coverage, and hands to develop into a true fantasy contributor immediately.

17.14 Felix Jones, RB, DAL Passed on DeMarco Murray at the 1.14/2.01 turn, but I do like Jones here as my #4 RB. He’s had multiple chances to be THE guy in Dallas, but a combination of injuries and various frustrations have derailed his chances. Another YPC guy with good hands and the potential to take it to the house whenever he gets the ball in the open field.

18.01 James Harrison, LB, PITT By the nature of the scheme, good outside linebackers in 3-4 defenses are quality big play threats but their fantasy value is often held in check by weak tackle numbers. Even the best players at these positions rarely top 60 solos. Harrison is the lone exception to this general rule. Since 2007 he has surpassed the 70 tackle mark twice and only once fallen short of 60. That happened in 2011 when he missed 5 games. A healthy Harrison has averaged 10+ sacks and nearly 8 takeaways a season since becoming a starter 5 years ago. Age and health are the big question marks for him and consequently resulted in me making sure to draft 4 LBs.

19.14 David Harris, LB, NYJ Harris looked like an elite fantasy linebacker earlier in his career, but he has seen a pretty significant dropoff in his tackle numbers the past couple years. Harris gets his fair share of blitz opportunities in the aggressive Rex Ryan defense, which has allowed him to average nearly 5 sacks per year over the past three seasons. Unfortunately, he isn't the sideline to sideline run stopper and playmaker that many expected him to be based on his early success. Regardless, he plays the more favorable weakside inside linebacker spot in the Jets defense and that gives him the best opportunity to avoid blockers and pile up tackles. Plan to use him according to match ups, a bye week fill in, and a hedge for Harrison’s durability. The Jet’s offense once again looks less than impressive and Harris should get ample playing time. As a 19th round pick, I won’t hesitate to dump him should he continue his downward trend or I find a better option on the wire.

20.01 Alex Green, RB, GB Before his ACL tear mid-season, Alex Smith, a 2011 draft pick from Hawaii, had the most physical skill and promise of all the players on the Packers running back depth chart. He’s big, hits the hole hard, laterally agile, and an excellent receiver. If Green can return to his pre-injury form, he can earn a share of the workload especially in 3rd down situations, when recently named Cedric Benson will yield to GB’s other RBs. If not, he’ll yield as waver wire fodder. Mainly picked on potential and for RB depth.

16.07 Jacoby Ford, WR, OAK I drafted this guy? Right, I remember. I’m hoping he does most of the returns, and the Oakland receivers are not that great, so Jacoby should get some catches. This guy has some upside for round 16.

17.08 Mark Sanchez, QB, NYJ taxman stole Fitzpatrick on the pick before. However, Sanchez plays Indy at home in the bye week I need him, if he can make it to week 6 as the starter.

18.07 LB, IND Pat Angerer. One who angers. If he returns near 100%, this will be a steal. Probably an 11th rounder if healthy. There is a massive bench in this league, and I’m stashing this guy a little while.

19.08 Ronnie Brown, RB, SD Real happy with this pick, too. For sure starting game 1, and I think I will start him, too. Not bad for the 19th round. Now after that…… I’ve been leaving one person queues when its 3-4 picks away, and it’s worked every time. For this one, it was about 8 picks away, and it also worked.

20.07 David Hawthorne, LB, NO Another injured linebacker. meniscus operation. I think that’s the unimportant one. New Orleans has a bunch of new linebackers. Good ones , too. I don’t think he’ll be out long. It’s worth a gamble in round 20.

16.03 – Cliff Avril, DE, DET This is my third defensive lineman and it was also another computer-aided selection. He should be doing just fine. And I just took him a little bit too earlier, especially I did put LaFell or even Akers in my queue for this pick.

17.12 – James Jones, WR, GBP After drafting another defensive lineman in the previous round, I kind of scrambled to correct my “mistake” here by drafting the third receiver with this pick. Jones is always an intriguing player though it must take an injury or two before he could be performing with some consistency---but I like his potential with Rodgers at the helm.

18.03 – Russell Wilson, QB, SEA I did plan to have my QB2 here. But had I planned more carefully, I would not have taken him. The only reason: he and Eli would be having the same bye at week 11.

19.12 – Mikell Quintin, S, STL He was one of the few available “ranked” IDP players when my turn came around and if my recollection is correct I ever had him on my roster at least couple of years ago when he was an Eagle. Playing for Rams may increase his time on the field, giving him more chances to collect some additional defensive points, which could be the difference maker in head-to-head matchups.

20.03 – Sebastian Janikowski, K, OAK He is old but his legs are still strong, as evidenced by him kicking a 63-yarder last year. Given the uncertainty of Raiders’ offense (other than DMC), he may have relatively more FG opportunities than other elite kickers in the league.

16.13 Ndamukong Suh, DL, DET
Two years ago, Suh was a fantasy stud as a rookie. Last year, he was a complete bust -- as his rookie sack and tackle totals plummeted. Suh is a much better football player than a fantasy football player, as he is a defensive tackle, but he also has the talent (and the players around him, as it's difficult to double team him) to return to stud-like status. At this stage of the draft (as I decided to wait for DL), it's a crapshoot and Suh could very well pay off.

17.02 Austin Collie, WR, IND
Collie just suffered another concussion. He has, however, produced solid numbers in the past (albeit with a different hall-of-fame-bound quarterback). Collie is the fifth WR that I have selected and he has a different bye week to that of the other four WR on the roster, so I think I am done with WR. It's been reported that Collie is going to play in week 1. Here is to hoping that Collie that he plays, that he stays healthy, and that he clicks with the new QB in Indy. Zero risk (despite the concussion issues) and all upside at this stage of the draft.

18.13 Robert Turbin, RB, SEA
A lottery ticket! But Turbin can play. Marshawn Lynch comes with baggage, and if he were to ever get injured (or suspended), it's Turbin`s job (I base that opinion on watching Turbin carry the rock during the pre-season).

19.02 Kendall Hunter, RB, SFO
Another RB lottery ticket! The incumbent in San Fran has some well-treaded tires, and if he were to ever get nicked, Hunter would seem to be first in line. When I made this pick, the two other backup RB's were injured, and one had sustained what looked like a bad knee injury.

20.13 LaRon Landry, DB, NYJ
Beginning to round out the roster with a strong safety. When healthy, Landry is a beast! It will be interesting to see how Rex Ryan uses a talent like Landry. That said, he could post big numbers from the DB position, IF he is used properly and IF he stays healthy.

16.11 James Starks RB GB With Grant's departure Stark's lokked to be the logical #1 RB but they picked up Cedric Benson in the off season. Benson has a well documented history of off field problems and Alex Green was injured early in the season last year so I think Starks has some definate upside here.

17.04 Brian Urlacher LB CHI Urlacher himself has said his knee will never be completely healed; but he's also said he will start week 1. If he can play to 80 or 90 % of his ability he'll be worth the pick here.

18.11 Darrelle Revis CB NYJ So much for Revis Island....Revis has not seemed to be the same player he was in Oakland in the NY; but he can't have lost all the talent that made him a top 3 CB in the league a couple of years ago.

19.04 DeAngelo Hall S WAS See above... in checking the stats Hall actually is a better player than Revis but I still see them as similar players.

20.11 Mason Crosby K GB Would have rather got a 2nd DE with any of my last few picks; but such is life with a big queue. I like Crosby ( or any Packer) and he should do very well on a potent offense. Whoever plays me the Packers bye week will have an easy time of it , but I do love my Packers.

16.02 Earl Thomas, DB, Sea
I intentionally waited a bit to get my first defensive backs. There's generally free agents available in the year that can be decent fill-ins, so didn't see a need to get one early. Thomas rated out as a solid contributor for tackles, which is what gets consistent points.

17.13 Kavell Conner, LB, Ind
Conner showed last year that he's able to make some quality open-field tackles. He was overshadowed by Pat Angerer in the Colts defensive backfield, but with Angerer injured, I expect Conner to lead the team in tackles.

18.02 Daniel Thomas, RB, Mia
Can never have too many RB's in fantasy football. This is my fourth back. Snagged him because I don't think Reggie Bush has the durability to be a featured back. Despite Bush's expressed goal in Hard Knocks that he wanted to lead the league in rushing, I think Bush is better as a change-of-pace back like he was for the Saints. Not sure if that means Thomas is the workhorse, but I'll use an 18th round pick to find out.

19.13 Devin McCourty, NE, CB
Things starting to thin out on the defensive back side. I saw it would soon be my pick, so I started to research who was out there. Had settled on Quintin Mikell. Got a text that it was my pick (that Sam Bradford was just picked), and started to search for Mikell, but I couldn't find him. Went back to the draft list only to see YWK just picked him immediately before me (and since he was queued, his name didn't show up in the MFL text). McCourty is in his third year and has averaged ~80 total tackles and 5 picks - decent at this stage of the game.

20.02 Perry Riley, LB, Was
Could be an up-and-comer in the tackle ranks. Will have to start for me, so let's hope he does take that next step.
