You are each invited (although not required) to post your general reflections on the completed draft. Comments may be as detailed or as general as you wish. As a catalyst, free free to comment on any of the following:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
My plan was to do better than last years draft when I first jumped back into football. I wanted to get qb and rb nailed down early then simply take the best available for a well rounded team.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
I was very happy with Greg Olsen when I got him. I ignored TE for a while and watched TE after TE go off the board. I think he'll finish higher than most TE's taken 3-5 rounds before I took him. Though I got him at an average draft position for him (r12) I think he'll outperform that slot. Grabbing Ronnie Brown in r19 is nice too. Getting a RB w/ a starting job that late is nice insurance and gives me some depth I felt I was lacking.
Do over picks? I honestly like my draft. I had second thoughts about cam newton early. My other thought on strat was to front load good rb's and grab another qb later like matt ryan. But I wouldnt really undo any picks.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

This is tough only because I don't know football like I do baseball. Dwetzel's team has some very good potential, but some risks in it. Syncopats often took players I was eyeing up. And overall with a solid qb, 2 top notch rb's and a good wr corps, he looks good. I didn't look at all the rosters, but from the 6 or so I did look at, his was the best.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
How mundane it was. Really. I was surprised at that in the final few rounds I was able to fill in my bench with starters (brown, gabbert). That was a very nice bonus. I was surprised at how the top 2 TE's went. I never dreamed of them as 1st round picks but that is some old bias for me from years ago. Its not about this draft specifically, just this year in general. TE's in round 1 and 2 of them?

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
Maybe take a WR at round 6 instead of michael bush (my 3rd rb and therefore a bench player in round 6). If I hadn't had Cam Newton (or any qb for that matter) I would have taken Manning. But I felt bush was a solid pick for that slot. His earliest was 5.13. His latest was round 8. Its a good value pick and gives me some flexibility. Only problem is he's not the #1 back, but w/ forte being forte...he might be.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

As I said on the site, my plan in taking the #13 slot was to lock up one of the top 2 tight ends (Gronk or Graham). If they both slid to #13, I could safely take another position and then grab one at 2.02. Since Graham went at #12, I had to take Gronk at #13 and let the position slide a bit. I think that there's SUCH a value in those two above and beyond any other tier at any other position that having them is a huge advantage. Plus, the late pick means picking early in rounds 2-4, which I think is huge.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Glad to get Peyton Manning at 6.02. He was the 11th QB taken, and by most accounts he's, well, Peyton Manning. Granted, he's throwing outdoors to a bunch of mediocre receivers, but then again, Peyton Manning has a way of making mediocre receivers look very good and good receivers look great.

Josh Cribbs at 8.02... man, I don't know. I think it will be okay but it has a chance to just have been a big reach. I probably should have gone on a IDP run from this point instead of waiting a few rounds. Adrian Peterson at 2.02, if he's healthy enough, it's fine, but I am possibly regretting not taking Jamaal Charles here instead.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I think Sarge has a chance to have a really good team with solid starters at all the offensive positions. If Goatlocker can come up with some decent WR play his team is also very solid.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

I got caught out a bit in the middle of the draft when the IDPs started flying off the board. I would have liked to be a little more on the front end of that, but I really only got one top-end solid IDP (Jared Allen), and then it's a bunch of throwing darts and hoping enough people play well. Mediocre IDPs aren't the end of the world, there's plenty of free agent depth, but I'm worried that it could take me a few weeks to separate the wheat from the chaff and that that could cost me a game or two.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Nothing major. Maybe start the IDP run a tiny bit earlier.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

Last year I managed to get 2 top 5 RBs in the first 5 rounds or so. I knew I couldn't count on luck so I was going with more solid options on points (low risk) guys early on. Later, I was looking for guys with potential kick returning points for an edge.

About halfway through I was feeling a little lost with so many question marks on players that I downloaded RotoWire's draft software to help with updated news & projections. While I still went with my own picks, the software helped when I was having difficulty between two players.

In the end, the Rotowire projections place me pretty high in the final projected standings, so it is nice to have a little confirmation that I didn't tank it!

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

I'm very pleased with all my IDP. Janikowski was taken too early, unfortunately, and took me out of the running for a number of decent players still on the board at that point.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

I was most interested in watching Goatlocker's draft. He has some solid picks early, then appeared to wobble a bit in the middle (excerpt for Carson Palmer--steal of the draft at round 12). If Gresham comes out of his injury ready to go I think Goat is going to take the league.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

After the first round or two, there were few guys I wanted who were stolen by other managers. So either I'm a freaking genius at drafting or I'm in big trouble here.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

No way I should have taken a kicker in the 14th round--should have just picked up someone later.
