The league site on MFL has a draft order and a draft start of 8/22. Is the draft order for the draft, for selecting a draft slot, or a random listing of teams that needs updating? Can we start the draft sooner? Anxious to get started!

Gotta pick our draft slots first. Usually wait at least until the third preseason game is over to draft...it goes quickly if you use the queues in the MFL program properly.

I am thinking of getting the draft selection order out by the weekend. Rather than having two sets of random numbers, we will use the draft order generator on MFL. You will be getting an email notification when that part starts. This is also the same way the RIFC picked the order.

Just a heads up for everyone. I am going to set up a poll on MFL that I want (I believe its 8 other than me now.) the ones who do not a second team to vote on. More details will come on the home page.

Scratch that. Forgot that Bean is on vacation and will not get back to the 11th. So everything will be early next week.

considering how slow the draft slot selection is going in other leagues, we might want to go ahead and start that process now. I guess it wouldn't help if Bean gets an early pick, but there's a good chance that he doesn't.

So this is the final draft order??
I could not figure how to vote in poll. I vote for traditional waivers. Does lowest team get first chance or is it on rotation based??

If you use a traditional system, my recommendation was to start out with priorities in reverse of the draft selection round (in this case, Twolves first, Toral last), and not reset from week to week, except that as any waiver claim is awarded, the claiming team moves to the bottom of the priority list.

I guess since twolves vote is here instead of the poll, 5 people voted for traditional, so traditional it is.

Poll is for traditional waivers vs. blind bidding. Go to the league home page at MFL and League Polls is a selection in the Communications drop down at the very top of the page.

The draft order on the draft page does not look correct (http://football21.myfantasyleague.com/2013/options?L=41029&O=17).

I should have the 14 overall pick, and it also does not look like the Banzai order has been reflected (order reversed in round 3).

As I see it, the draft order is right for round 3, but wrong for round 4 (and every subsequent round). Round 4 reverts to the regular round 4 order.

re 40, I believe that's correct. For banzai you take the original snake draft order and just flip rd 3. So the #14 team would get the first pick in rds 2, 3, & 4.

Nope - every round is now backwards after round 3. You need to set it up as a regular snake, and then manually reverse round 3. There is no canned version of the bonzai.

Like Guru said, only the third round is changed:

Normal draft:
1-14 14-1 1-14 14-1 1-14

Banzai draft:
1-14 14-1 14-1 14-1 1-14

Regular snake, with 3rd rd reversed.

Here is the description of waivers:

Waiver claims can be submitted starting at 6pm today. All non-rostered players will be subject to waivers at the beginning of each week. Claims will be settled at noon Wednesday (and at noon every Wednesday throughout the season).

Waiver priorities start out as the reverse of the draft selection order (i.e., twolves first, Toral last). Each time a claim is awarded, that team moves to the bottom of the priority list. This rolling process continues throughout the regular season. At the start of the playoffs, we'll reset the priorities in order of playoff seeding (to team has highest priority), and then roll from there once again.

There will be a 3-hour lockout (noon-3pm) following waiver claim processing. Starting at 3pm each Wednesday, all free agents can be added FCFS (first come, first served). Dropped players are not subject to any lockout period.

So waivers are in effect now?? and ends noon tomorrow. The "free agent" free for all starts Tomorrow at 3pm ET/2pm CT? I assume we use the add player to do that??

I did an add at 2:03 CT and thought it was a free agent add and shows up as a waiver add. Did I do something wrong??

You are fine. One idiosyncrasy of myfantasyleague.com nomenclature is that all add/drop transactions are called "waivers", regardless of whether they are part of a restricted claiming process, or simple first come/first served (FCFS) free agent adds (which the system refers to as "First Come, First Served Waivers").

You can verify this by looking at your waiver priority. If you are awarded a traditional waiver claim, your priority moves to the bottom. But priorities are unaffected by FCFS adds. Twolves, you still have the top priority.

For those new to the myfantasyleague.com platform, there are two ways to follow live scoring.

(1) You can use the "Live scoring" link that appears just beneath the large RotoGuru logo.

(2) You can also install and use the more versatile "MFL Game Day" app. (Windows only).

It should be on your league home page - scroll down a bit.

If not, it's also here:

You can probably add it to your home page, then. Somewhere in your franchise setup info is a place to specify what goes into your home page.

This may be the appropriate link:

RE #85

I believe when you get a sack, its 1 point for the "sack" and two points for the "tackle for loss" part of it.

So a sack is technically three points.

What The Hell. Losing two games, 161.28-160.52 and 162.48-160.52? Is that the worst pair of bad beats in RIFC history?

Sacks can be worth a total of 5 points.

1 for a Tackle
1 for a Sack
2 for a Tackle for a Loss
1 for a QB Hit

There are some variations on this. If the QB is scrambling and he gets forced out of bounds, the closest defender will typically get a sack and a tackle for a loss but will not get a QB hit. Also, "strip sacks" may get credit for a forced fumble, but not a tackle for a loss.

I'll never forget a giants game a few years back where JPP had a strip sack forced fumble, that he recovered, and then returned for a touchdown. I think the single play was worth somewhere around 13-14 points!

Either way... sacks are worth BIG points!

I agree Sacks are big--had not realized that initially or might have drafted differently.

Toral,
I would not complain about 2 losses. I am 8 and counting and would love to score 160. However, if I ever score 160 and lost--I would complain like you did.

We have McGahee or Stacy available in case anyone is looking for options at RB. R Mathews is probably also available. Interested in QB, WR. Shoot any offer you want though.

Was there a trading deadline? Not many trades this year.

Never having been in a league before--if I am reading right, playoffs start next week for the top 8 it looks like. Ties are broken by points? and not head to head. There is a playoff for last 6 teams but just one week in Week 16??

Ties are broken by points, yes. Note that the 7 and 8 playoff positions are determined by total points, not W/L record.

1 through 6 are based on W/L record (tie breaker is points), then 7 & 8 are based on highest points scored. So, you can have the worst record in the league and still get in the playoffs if your points scored are good.

I don't know about the consolation bracket. I believe it's up to each commish to run as they choose. I do know that there are new rules in effect for adds/drops once the regular season is over. I'm sure wolfer will go over that stuff.

Thanks for the info. So from looking at our current standings, the top six are set already although positioning still up for grabs since no one can have better that is lower in rankings.

The 7th and 8th place teams would be jaydog and Philly buster instead of WG who has 7th best record. They seem pretty well set as it is unlikely anyone below can catch them in points although they could have better records. A bit disappointing since thought record was the key factor here.

Yeah I think the original idea was that it would help keep people with good teams from being screwed out of the playoffs due to giving up the most points in the league. It stinks if you have the 7th/8th best record and get pushed out though.

So if reading the standings right WG made up huge last week points deficit to get 8th place with 7th best record. Jaydog is the 7th place finisher. Philly Busters and I miss out with the points based system. However, considering I was 0-10 to start with near lowest point totals after 5 weeks, I was happy to have a chance in the last week all be it a very slim one.

It has been a fun season to date and good luck to all the playoff members.

Conrats to Holt on regular season.

Looking at playoff brackets, there is a consolation round in week 16. I noted in other leagues if not in playoffs, cannot add or drop players.

Can the last 6 teams add or drop players prior to week 16 to improve team? I assume since will be playing in week 16 that I will be able to adjust roster at that time but what about in the next 2 weeks??

Only teams active in the championship bracket are still eligible to make add/drop transactions.

Teams in the consolation bracket (or the various "loser's brackets") will continue to compete, but must use the roster they already have.

Thanks guys - was a fun season. We had some pretty good luck with a few players. Moreno, Stacy, L David, Burfict, J Gordon to name a few.

So which team/s qualified to move up to RIFC?

Still need a fantasy "fix" after the regular season is over? MFL has a Fantasy League for the Playoffs.

We will use these players:
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 PK
1 DST

You can only use a player once during the playoffs. RIFC scoring rules are in effect. Total points at the end wins!

Wins WHAT? you ask. Nothing but bragging rights...
