1.08 - LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI
I expect McCoy to flourish in Chip Kelly's offense. It's exciting not knowing exactly what to expect Kelly to run.

2.07 - Julio Jones, WR, ATL
In my opinion, Jones is one of the best young receivers out there. Although he disappears at some points of the games, I expect another good season out of him if he stays healthy.

3.07 - Vincent Jackson, WR, TB
With this pick, I was debating between RB and WR. I was hoping for Gore but he went two picks ahead. So I'm stuck with Jackson, I feel like he could be a bust or explode with a great season.

4.07 - Chris Ivory, RB, NYJ
Someone has to score touchdowns for the Jets. Right?

5.08 - Shane Vereen, RB, NE
I'm excited for Vereen. The Patriots offense is always explosive with Brady. Without the top two tight ends at the beginning of the year, I expect Vereen to get a lot of catches out of the backfield and some carries each game.

Draft pick position #2-I had the choice between 2, 4 and 5, none ideal positions in a 3rd round reversal draft. I chose #2 hoping for the slim possibility that Crazy Eights would not pick Peterson. I thought that of all the RBs ranked below Peterson, Doug Martin had the least issues, and I thought that I needed the 2nd position to get him.

1.02 Doug Martin, RB, TBB -See above
2.13 Demaryius Thomas, WR, DEN-I was going to take Rogers or Brees, but they were drafted at 2.11 and 2.12, so my choice was between RB2 or WR1. All the 1st tier RBs were drafted so I went with whom I thought was the best WR available. The biggest risk with Thomas is Peyton Manning’s age and competition from Eric Decker.
3.13 Andre Johnson, WR, HOU-Same reasoning as with my last pick. A few seasons back Andre was ranked almost on par with the other Johnson, Calvin. He gained over 1500 yards in 2012, and if he can get more red zone targets, he has the potential for a great season.
4.13 Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, IND-This was a risky choice because Bradshaw is coming off an injury, I believe surgery and he has not yet played in the preseason. However if he can stay healthy, he has the potential for a good season.
5.02 Jason Witten, TE, DAL-I was determined not to be hurt by TE production this year, and Witten was one of 3 TEs I considered. Factoring QBs, bye week, and injuries, I chose Witten. I was debating between a TE and QB, but I thought that a good QB would still be available in round 6.

0.05 #1 slot

My top 3 draft slots coming in were 1, 6, and 14. I was surprised that all 3 were still available. I passed on 6 because I was concerned any doubts with my top 6 RBs would put me in a tough spot. 1 vs 14 came down to my belief in Adrian Peterson. I simply felt that he would make up the gap from picking last in rounds 2-4.

1.01 Adrian Peterson, RB, MIN

Never any doubts on this pick. He probably won't perform to his 2012 numbers, but he is by far the best bet to finish #1 overall in value.

2.14 David Wilson, RB, NYG

I considered Wilson, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Watt with this pick. I decided WR was deep and could wait. As much as I like Watt, I didn't like the RB depth past this point as a starter, so RB it is.

As much as I dislike blindly going RB/RB, I liked Wilson too much to pass on him. I see three scenarios with Wilson (assuming his health):
1. He wins the starting job early and is the lead back on a decent team. He puts up low-to-solid RB1 numbers as a result.
2. He gets half the carries, which means they give him all the kickoff return duties. RB2 rushing numbers + ~40 KR points = low RB1.
3. Scenario 1 with a decent amount of kick returns to boot. Top 5 is not out of reach in that case.

I'll take that with the 19th RB off the board.

3.14 J.J. Watt, DL, HOU

With loki getting ready to pick, I had two players in my queue: Andre Johnson and Watt. I really wanted AJ here, but I'll happily take Watt. This gives me the reigning Offensive and Defensive players of the year - not bad.

Watt was the most valuable player in the RIFC format last year - period. Will he be that much better than every other DL. Probably not. But I won't rule it out, and even the top IDP looks like a good bet.

4.14 Robert Griffin III, QB, WSH

I was pretty much planning from the beginning to take a QB here unless a top guy was available at 3.14. I tend to get the last QB off the board, but this year I only liked the top 12. Since 12 QBs were taken by the time my 6.14 pick came around, I felt vindicated taking QB here.

My thinking here was pretty straightforward - a healthy RG3 will often be the #1 QB going into a week. He can easily deliver 30+ FP in any given week. This is a higher-risk pick for sure, but the payoff could be massive.

5.01 Antonio Brown, WR, PIT

WR was a must here since I didn't have any. I had Brown in my top 10 because he gets some returns on top of WR1 duties. I expect the Steelers to throw a ton, even more so with Bell's injury. Since I never have any luck with WRs anyway unless I take them in the first round, I'd be thrilled with a top-15 performance.

1.07 WITH THE 7TH PICK AND INTENT ON GOING RB-RB, I WAS HOPING TO LAND CJ SPILLER BUT NOT TO BE. I WAS TORN BETWEEN RICHARDSON AND MCCOY AND TOOK RICHARDSON

2.08 THE RB POOL WAS SHRINKING FAST AND I DIDN'T REALLY WANT MURRAY, BUT. HOPE HE CAN STAY HEALTHY

3.08 LOST SOME OF MY TARGETS SO THOUGHT CAM NEWTON WAS BEST AVAILABLE AT HIS POSITION

4.08 TOP NEED IS WR SO TOP RECEIVER WAS
AMENDOLA(ANOTHER HEALTH RISK)

5.07 WR AGAIN WITH ERIC DECKER

Picking last for draft slots, means I didn't get a choice. At #5, It seemed likely that a QB would be a reach and I had a top 4 that I liked. I went with Arian Foster and the hope that his injuries are overstated. I've done well with my top pick basically producing a 0 in the past, but it requires your other draft picks to pan out well and a lot of luck.

I'll post more about my subsequent picks later.
