8th pick I picked near the end so didn't have alot of choices. I figured I could still get a good player and be in on all of the runs if I stuck to the middle, so I took the 8th pick.

1.08 Trent Richardson, RB CLE Frankly, I didn't take alot of time preparing for this draft. I had a busy weekend and some RL issues in the past week and put this out of my mind until I realized the draft started. I made this pick while waiting for my wife on a bench in downtown Denver, after watching a professional cycling race. Anyways, with the brief time I had to ponder this pick, I surprised at the choices I had - McCoy would be my goto man, being an Eagles fan, but I'm worried about his use in a new offensive system. Richardson is the youngest of my choices and when thinking RB, it's often best to go youngest, so I did. I'm hoping for a bit more of a breakout and improvement now that he has a season under his belt.

2.07 Dez Bryant, WR DAL I was kind of thinking RB here again but I did not like the options available to me at this point in the draft. So I went WR here - another young guy with alot of upside, who broke out last year. Again I went with the youngest of this tier of WR.

3.07 Darren McFadden, RB OAK My first gamble of the draft. Most of the RB's at this point were solid but unspectacular players, and I didn't like most of them. There were still too many WR left to distinguish one for another, and the top QB had already gone, so gambled here on a fragile McFadden, hoping he can survive a whole season - because when he plays, he's electric.

4.07 Robert Griffin III, QB WAS I wanted a QB in this spot, but was surprised to see how many went off between my last pick and this one. I was hoping for Stafford, who went right before me. RG3 is a decent consolation prize. He isn't just a running QB, which I like as I generally prefer my QB's to be pass-first. And again, he's young and has the upside.

5.08 DeSean Jackson, WR PHI There was still not alot of differentiation of WR's at this spot, so this was a bit of a tough choice. Jackson had the edge though because he's going to be in a high-flying offense, AND they just announced he will be the punt returner, which should add about 50 points to his totals.

1st Pick I wish I had thought about this a bit more. My first reaction was that AP was a clear #1 draft pick, and if I had a shot to get him, I should take it. Had I analyzed the draft a bit further, I would have much preferred to be at the back end of the first round and grabbed two top tier RB's rather than one elite one.

1.01 - Adrian Peterson, RB, Min
Easiest pick of the draft. Pick AP and sleep like a baby. As long as he doesn't get hurt, I shouldn't have to worry about one of my two RB slots. If he does get hurt, I'll see you in AA next year.

2.14 - Julio Jones, WR, Atl
Was hoping Chris Johnson or Reggie Bush would make it back to me here. I wanted to lock up my RB2, but none of the options left on the board interested me enough to use a 2nd round pick on them. The Banzai format also meant that I didn't get to lead off the 3rd round. Because I didn't see a lot of separation amongst this group of RB's, I went with who I thought was the best player on the board. There's no reason Julio Jones shouldn't at least match last years production, and I think he's primed to break out. Talent and opportunity are all there to make Julio a top 3 (if not higher) WR.

3.14 - Tom Brady, QB, NE
After wanting to take my RB2 in the 2nd round, I figured I'd definitely take one here. Had Demarco Murray slipped this far I would have taken him. I was targeting either Daryl Richardson or Ryan Matthews with this selection, but seeing that most teams already had 2 RB's, I decided to roll the dice that one would be available in the 4th round. That left Tom Brady as best player available. I generally prefer to grab one of the top tier of QB's so I don't have to draft a 2nd QB, and Tom definitely fits that bill. Pairing Brady with AP meas that there are two roster spots I don't ever have to mess with.

4.14 - Daryl Richardson, RB, STL
I was a bit worried when Ryan Matthews was selected early in the 4th round, but my gamble ended up paying off when Richardson made it back to me. He's a bit unproven, but performed very well in a backup role last year and is the clear cut starter. There's upside for Richardson to get into the RB1 range, and the downside is much less for a back that will at least enter the season healthy with a lock on the starting role. I entered the draft wanting a solid RB1/RB2 pair, and while I would have liked to do a bit better than Richardson as my 2, I'll take it.

5.01 - Tony Gonzalez, TE, Atl
Picking at the turn means that you occasionally have to reach on a player you really like. I'm not sure Gonzalez has value that matches the first pick of the 5th round, but without any other players that I loved, and with 26 picks before I get to pick again, I figured I'd make sure I pick up one of the last elite TE's. The "expects" seem to think that TE is deep this year, but I've been burned by "up and coming" TE's in the past, and Gonzalez gives me someone I can play each week with confidence. With roughly the same team as last year, except for a different RB, there's no reason Gonzalez shouldn't put up his consistently above average numbers at a position I always seem to struggle with.

I had probably the worst pick in a Bonzai draft #5
and I did let it color my selections. I decided to really go rogue and take chances.
1.05 Calvin Johnson, WR Det
I just wanted to differentiate and not be stuck with the worst pair of RB's in round 1/2. I probably would have taken Foster had he fallen to me but that would have been a hard choice. Was afraid of Charles injury risks, prolly would have taken Ridley 5 picks to early. How wrong can you go with the best WR in football even if he is DT'd every play.

2.10- David Wilson, RB NYG
After going WR round 1 needed a RB- was either Reggie Bush or Wilson and J picked Bush just before me. Didn't hurt that Wilson had just rushed for an 84 yard TD LOL.

3.10- Gronk, TE, NE
Wow the Bonzai really hurts at this point LOL-
Really took a big chance on the Gronk- will be ok if comes back anywhere near full strength before game 3. Will really hurt if he goes PUP. This pick could easily drop me to AA next year all by itself.

4.10- Victor Cruz- WR NYG
I have the best 1-2 WR in the draft. This was a value pick and clearly I value Cruz mor ethan the 32 RB.

5.05 Tony Romo- QB- hated Cowboys-
Well I hate the Cowboys (personnal reasons) but after the early run on QB's I needed to lock in someone who I hope will be behind a lot this year. Most fantasy experts like Romo as a fantasy QB so who am I to argue.

Overall drafting from the #5 I am not unhappy with my picks yet. Best in the league- I doubt it- worst maybe but with a lot of upside. Certainly not the safe early picks I usually try to make.

1.03 CJ Spiller. Have loved watching this guy run since college. Offensive situation in Buffalo is scary, but he put some great numbers last year before he got nicked up.

2.12 D Brees. RB "locks" were gone, so I grabbed a dome QB that airs it out. Hoping the QB/Coach reunion produces so great numbers.

3.12 E Lacy. Dropped in the real draft, and as available late here as well. Looking for the chip on the shoulder effect combined with a potent GB offense to make him a serviceable RB2.

4.12 E Decker. Had Cruz, Colston and Decker in my Queue. Naturally Cruz and Colston were the 2 picks just in front of me. Got in from work right before my auto pick, was actually trying for a last minute switch, but didn't make it. We'll see how it works.

5.03 TY Hilton. Crazy raw talent, up and coming QB. Taking a flyer he is involved in the Offense.

10th pick I wanted one of the top 10 RBs. In case of injury, and assuming Calvin was top 10, I went with 10.

1.10 Ray Rice, RB BAL
I would have taken any RB at this point. Went with Rice instead of Morris. Would have preferred McCoy had he slid one more pick.

2.05 Darren Sproles, RB NO
Was figuring on a RB here. With just a few picks until mine it was between Sproles, Johnson, Dez, and Green--in that order. So I got Sproles.

3.05 Larry Fitzgerald, WR ARI
I wanted an elite WR here. Fitz was only choice for me once I decided on that. I had been trying to trade up a few spots to get Cobb, but it didn't happen.

4.05 Vincent Jackson, WR TB I had Jackson last year. He was an unflashy pick then, and I feel the same way this year. He was better than expected last year, so hopefully it continues.

5.10 Antonio Brown, WR PIT I chose from several potential top 10 WR her (Garcon, Smith, Brown). After Jackson in the 4th, I was hoping to get a QB this round. I would've been happy w/ any of the ones that went QB8-QB11. Ultimately, I couldn't pull the trigger on Wilson. I knew either mjd or russelldl would take him, but I even thought I'd be able to choose from Vick and Manning a full cycle later in the 7th.

9th Pick Was the closest to the turn when I made my choice, and knew with the Banzai Draft, that is where I wanted to be.

1.09 LeSean McCoy, RB, Phi Well, wasn't my initial thought with this pick. I really thought I had a shot at getting Calvin here, of course, then he goes at #5 to Valkyrie. So, reevaluated the RBs and when it got to pick 8, my queue was Richardson, McCoy. So, I got what I consider to be a top 10 RB, but had felt that Richardson's youth put him in front this late in the first round. Still thought either pick was fine here.

2.06 Chris Johnson, RB, Ten Another case of things that happens when drafting with a group like this. My queue for this pick was AJ, Jimmy, Darren Sproles. I'm just not a real fan of Chris Johnson, and toyed with taking Dez Bryant instead. But, another case of a player I'm not a big fan of, so figured go RB and be done with them for a bit to fill out other holes.

3.06 Roddy White, WR, Atl Planned for this to be a QB or WR all along if I went RB, RB. Was happy to see him here. Know he will not disappoint, and with the top 2 QBs gone, felt this was the best move to make.

4.06 Matthew Stafford, QB, Det With 7 QBs off the board, was not willing to wait until 5.09 to take a QB. Stafford was at the top of my Queue and also has Calvin to throw to. Feel comfortable with having him since I didn't get one of the top QBs. Know issues at all with him at #8.

5.09 Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Ari Going out on a limb here, but absolutely loved what I saw of him in the Arizona / SD game. Back to my old ways of getting the 3rd RB early, but still felt there was a lot of WR depth that would be okay, and just wasn't ready to go to TE or IDP yet. Basically best available in my mind.

7th pick - I don't remember why I picked this. I'm assuming that there weren't spots at either end, as usually that's what I do as it is more convenient. However, picking in the middle did work out fairly well. Typically I was able to get the guy I put in my queue, and on occasion even the second guy in the subsequent round.

1.07 Jamaal Charles, KC, RB - I drafted him first two years back when he was lost for the season in his second game. He came back huge last year, so giving him another shot. Hopefully a more balanced KC offense will mean less wear and tear for Charles, and maybe even some more shots at the end zone. Depsite having > 1500 yards last year, he was limited to 5 TD's.

2.08 Demaryius Thomas, WR, Den - I was primed to take Dez Byrant here, but he was snagged right in front of me. I still liked the idea of a WR with this pick, and Demaryius rose to the top of the remaining top-tier receivers. He really shined with Manning at the helm for the Broncos last year, and I see that connection even growing this year.

3.08 Peyton Manning, QB, Den - At first I was thinking another top WR here, as there were still a number available as it approached my pick. After Cobb, White, and Fitzgerald went off the board, I started looking in other directions. The chance to grab a top QB and not have to worry about it started to become more and more appealing. I then realized I'd be happy with either Peyton or Newton with this pick. I ended up going with Peyton because of his consistency. I owned Newton last year (with a first round pick if I remember correctly), and he had some monster games but also some stinkers. Now I've got Peyton and Demaryius Thomas... hopefully Denver will be on a lot of nationally televised games.

4.08 Ryan Mathews, RB, SD - Still a lot of options at WR at this point, but the RB ranks are starting to thin out especially for primary RB's without questionmarks. Not sure Mathews is without questionmarks, but he was the closest I could see to a sure thing at this point for my second running back.

5.07 Reggie Wayne, WR, Ind - Looking for another receiver here that I can count on every week. Looked at a couple of options, but figured I might as well go with the homer pick. I'll watch all the colts games, and think Luck and Wayne will continue to mesh and Wayne will be a solid option for TD's.

Had the opportunity to take the first draft slot - or any draft slot - and spent a ridiculous amount of time thinking and reading about the best draft slot in a banzai style draft…in the end I just let my 15 year old decide and that was 14…

1.14 MJD, RB, JAC, 2.01 Stevan Ridley, RB, NEP - Wanted to go running back, running back. All reports are that MJD is feeling good, feeling strong. Went back and forth and around and around between MJD, Ridley, and Chris Johnson. Very intrigued by the Tennessee offensive line changes but in the end went with the supposedly healed MJD and Ridley who I think will be a top RB this year.

3.01 JJ Watt, DE, HOU - Wanted Julio Jones but Jaydog took him just prior. Then I just lost all sense or reality and took an IDP the earliest I even have in my fantasy football life…on the other hand…at least I took him who was one of the top scorers regardless of position last year and who wants to do even better this year (don't they all…).

4.01 Colin Kaepernick, QB, SFO - Rushing yards, Rushing TD's, and hopefully enough TD passes if he figures out the semi-weak receiver situation.

5.14 Mike Wallace, WR, MIA - By all accounts I should be worried about this pick, but I am willing to take the chance. Tannehill should be improved this year and wasn't so bad as a rookie last year. I think Mike will be fine.

11th Draft slot selected

Drew the 8th pick, and even though I read and researched this extensively, the only consistent consensis I could find was that statistically the Bonzai draft is much more overall fairer to all drafters in a 14 team draft. However, those drafting closer to the late rounds could gain as much as a 2% advantage. Very negligible, but as I expect this to be a very heavy RB weighted draft, especially in the early rounds, getting that early pick in round 3 could allow me to not have to go RB-RB with my first 2 picks.

1.11 Alfred Morris, RB, WASH Figured on getting a top 10 RB with Calvin Johnson added to the top 10 RB picks. Don't usually pick a Mike Shannahan RB, but with Morris' stellar rookie seeason, he should get the Terrell Davis treatment. Also with them definitely not wanting RGIII running too much this year, I expect Morris to get plenty of touches and be a main safety valve for RGIII in the passing game. I had Morris targeted once I chose the 11th pick, but would have been equally satisfied had McCoy, Rice, or Richardson been there instead.

2.04 Jimmy Graham, TE, NO This is exactly how I envisioned my first 2 picks to turn out when selecting the 11th pick. Hope that's not a bad thing. But being the favorite red zone target for the number one red zone passing team can't be a bad thing. With his superior size, strength, and skill set, he defies all defensive matchups. Love this pick, but would have settled on Green or SJax if necessary.

3.04 Giovani Bernard, RB, CIN About half the teams have their 2nd RB by now, and even though most ADP's have me reaching for him, I'm good with this pick. The Bengel's didn't draft him in the 2nd round, as the 1st overall RB drafted to ride pine and return kicks. Bernard will allow them to upgrade their RB from 3 yards and a cloud of dust to more versitility and another weapon in the passing game. Not sure he'll be the week 1 starter, but he'll get plenty of playing time, as Cincy looks to take additional steps towards the playoffs with their gifted young offensive skill players. I anticipate a short learning curve and rapid ascent to their number 1 RB sooner rather than later.

4.04 Dwayne Bowe, WR, KC Loving the Bonzai now. My 3rd targeted pick. I hope I'm this lucky with my schedule once the season starts. In Andy Reid's west coast offense, Bowe should be THE MAN. Bowe hit the trifecta this off season, wiith a new pass happy head coach, a new QB, and a new contract. A big strong receiver that excels on short timing routes should have a field day in this offense.

5.11 Russell Wilson, QB, SEA Yet another targeted pick. With QB supposedly being so deep this year, I decided to wait until after the first 10 or so were picked and go with either Russell or Romo. Not a big Cowboy's fan, so I was hoping for Mr Wilson. He's got a downside in that Seattle usually relies mainly on it's power run game and strong defense to win games. But he has proven that he can air it out when necessary and always a threat to run. His overall skill set gives him enough upside to make my squad.
