6.14 Tavon Austin, WR, STL

There is a theme of "go big or go home" in my RIFC draft this year. It's impossible to have strength at every position, and with only Antonio Brown in my WR ranks that's my team's weak point. Plus, I have a horrid history with drafting WRs anyway, so there is no such thing as a safe pick for me anyway.

Ever since watching Tavon destroy my beloved Sooners last year, he has been on my radar. His return yards provide a decent floor. He has crazy speed and wide-open opportunity, so it's not that much of a stretch that he could deliver WR1 numbers.

7.01 James Laurinaitis, LB, StL

In prior years, I have had good luck waiting on IDPs. Last year I procrastinated on LBs and it hurt me because we have all gotten a lot better on that side of the ball.

My plan this year was to grab an LB at the 6/7 turn to stay ahead of the run. I'm very happy with how it worked out as JL is a proven performer.

8.14 Golden Tate, WR, SEA

One rule of picking on the ends in a draft is that if you like a player, don't wait to take him. I'd rather take a guy too early than take someone just because "their ADP was good".

Tate fits that example. Like my first 2 WR picks, he is a return guy that will provide a bit of a floor. In addition, with the injury situation in the Seattle WR corps, he may very well emerge as the lead receiver. WR2 numbers don't seem out of the question here.

9.01 Derrick Johnson, LB, KC

While I really hate not having a backup at any position, I can't leave another elite LB sitting out there. Plus, having 2 elite LBs along with Watt, ADP, Wilson, and RG3 puts a lot of pressure on the other team as they can score 120+ FPs by themselves.

10.14 Danny Woodhead, RB, SD

Taking all starters in the first 9 rounds means your backups will be weak, unproven, or both. I wanted an RB that has a defined role in the offense and opportunity to at least has bye week/fill-in value.

Woodhead fits the bill quite well. While he won't get many carries, 50-60+ catches seems very reasonable, especially since the Chargers will probably be behind a lot this year.

PICK 6.08 STEVE SMITH WR CAROLINA

with a years experience, cam newton should emerge. with smith as his favorite target, this was a logical pick. with a few more TD grabs, he could easily be a top 10 WR

PICK 7.07 MIKE WILLIAMS WR TAMPA

another underrated WR on almost every fantasy guru's radar. possibly a few picks toO early, but in a deep league, i wanted to take no chances.

PICK 8.08 JARED ALLEN DE MINN.

i planned on nabbing jj watt, but late again. a healthy allen provides me a chance for a rare fantasy advantage a DL averaging 10 pts a week. allen offers that if he stays healthy.

PICK 9.07 JORDAN CAMERON TE CLEV

thought i picked cameron jordan DL NO. just kidding. i believe an improved QB in CLEV provides a good opportunity for this kid

PICK 10.08 MIKE VICK QB PHILLY

this is a total steal. in chip kelly's offense, vick could reemerge, once again health is a must. pre season they had vick in some designed runs.
