AAA #2 Managers - You are each invited (although not required) to post your general reflections on the completed draft. Comments may be as detailed or as general as you wish. As a catalyst, free free to comment on any of the following:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Non-managers are also welcome to post general comments on the draft, and to raise questions.

Slow work day so I'll kick us off:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

I had a few goals coming into the draft.
- Lock up two solid RB's with my first 2-3 picks.
-- I was unable to execute on this strategy. There's no better RB1 than AP, but when my 2nd/3rd round picks came up, all of the "solid" choices were gone. Left with injury risks and consistent underperformers, I changed strategies and went QB/WR instead.

- I went into the draft wanting to grab two of the top 10 (ideally top 5) defensive lineman. Consistency is so hard to come by on the DL, I wanted to wrap them up early and then focus on the other IDP positions, where it's easier to find consistency and depth.
-- Unfortuntaely picking at the beginning of the round means you have to be spot on in timing when these players may go given that there are 26 selections between turns. I missed on my top 10 DL, but do feel that I drafted some DL w/ good upside (Jones and Dunlap) in later rounds.

- My last strategy was to try and go with high upside WR's. Seeing guys like Randall Cobb, TY Hilton, Josh Gordon, Cecil Shorts, etc... have so much success last year showcased the need to take a few risks. In previous years I've always valued consistency in the WR position, but figured I'd switch it up a bit this year.
-- After taking Julio Jones as my WR1 (tons of upside, but also an obvious WR1) I backed that up with three young WR's that while may have been risky picks, have tremendous upside. Tavon Austin and Cordarrelle Patterson, both rookie's with a ton of talent who (like Cobb) should return kicks for their team, and Michael Floyd (unrealized talent so far, but playing in a situation ('Zona) that should give him a good chance to succeed). There were plenty of "safer" picks out there, but what's the fun in that.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

- Favorite picks in the draft were:
-- Tavon Austin, seems like a pick that could win me the league.
-- Daryl Richardson, like getting a high upside, starting RB in round 4.
-- Cordarrelle Patterson, WR4 with WR2 upside.
-- Chandler Jones, I think he has the talent, and situation to be a top 5 DL.
-- Leodis McKelvin, great KR/PR and shoddy starting DB. As long as he's Buffalo's KR/PR and starting DB, could put up huge numbers.

- Least favorite picks:
-- Choosing the #1 overall draft choice. Obviously, I love having AP on my team, but had I put a bit more thought into my draft selection, I'd have much rather picked towards the back end of the (around 8-10).
-- Wouldn't do any picks over at this point, but ask me again in a few weeks. There were a few runs that I missed out on (RB2 and DL1) specifically, but picking at the turn didn't provide me much opportunity there. For example, I wanted two top 10 DL, rather than two top 10 LB's, but given the choice of the DL in rounds 6/7 versus Linebackers in round 8/9, I'd make the same choice.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

- Tough to say this early on. Love Goatlockers RB's (McCoy and Johnson could both be top 5), but he'll need the 2011 Stafford over the 2012 Stafford. I also love the upside on VampireWeekend's team, but there were some risky picks there too. Drafting Watt and Kaepernick in the 3rd and 4th rounds could be make or break picks. In a league this deep, with so much experience, every team is going to have holes.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

- I was surprised to see how many top tier DL went off the board early. I was hoping to pick two top 10 DL in the round 9-10 range, but they were all gone by round 8. I was also a bit surpised at how early QB's went. The "experts" felt that QB was very deep this year, and recommended waiting until rounds 6-8. This was one reason I hesitated on drafting Brady in round 3. Was not expecting the top 12 QB's off the board in round 5, but knowing that makes me glad I went with Brady in round 3.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

- Really the only change I would make would be to pick a different draft position. I'd rather have had something towards the back half of the draft than the first overall pick. Hopefully AP will make me "Not Regret" making that decision!

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
The last couple of years saw a change from RB/RB standard to a RB/WR, and sometimes even QB/WR. I assumed that trend would continue until I saw some mock drafts, which made me rethink my strategy. With the 8th pick - RB for sure in the first round, and then RB/WR in the second, third, QB in the 4th was my plan, and I executed it pretty well. In the later rounds, I had planned to get my DL's out of the way before the 10th, but they went faster than I expected. I still got a couple solid players in Atkins and Hardy. I also made sure to get plenty of backup RB's this year, which is something I rarely do.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
This was a strange draft for me as everything kind of fell in the right spots when my picks came up. I really like DeSean Jackson in the 5th. Isaac Redman might turn out to be a valuable backup. Apparently Josh Morgan was a good pick as more than one manager had targeted him. Philip Rivers is probably the best backup QB I've ever had in this format. McFadden is my riskiest pick mainly due to his health, which led me to select more RB's than I usually do.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I haven't really taken the time to look over the other teams yet, but there are some good managers in this league with years of experience in this format, so I expect a hard fought battle all season.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
As Jaydog mentioned before, the speed at which QB's and DL's went off the board. I was really targeting Stafford at 4.07 and even he was gone. I still think I got a good QB in Griffin III though. I was also hoping to grab one of Pierre-Paul, Ware, or Wake in or around the 9th and that didn't happen either.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
I'm actually very pleased with this draft. Considering my choices available at the time, I really can't complain. My weakest position is TE, but after the top 4 players were off, throw a dart. I also like the depth of this team, especially at RB and IDP. The only thing that can mess it up now are injuries.
