Hoping that my posting of rationales gives me some good juju...

16.14 - Leodis McKelvin, CB, Buf
I'm not sure it's a good thing when one of my favorite picks of the draft is a 16th round IDP, but I love McKelvin here. Playing limited DB snaps last season, McKelvin was still the 38th ranked DB. It appears that he'll be a starting DB for Buffalo this year on a defense that should be on the field a lot. Add his typically great return numbers to his additional defensive opportunities, and he could be a top 10 DB.

17.01 - Johnathan Cyprien, S, Jax
After grabbing McKelvin, I wasn't in love with any of the other options on the board. There were several LB's I liked still available, so I decided to take a stab at Cyprien. Starting strong safety on a bad team should provide plenty of tackle opportunities. I've seen several IDP lists that rank him as the top defensive rookie, and a sleeper worth targeting, so who am I to argue. I figure any tackle that Poz lets by will hopefully be gobbled up by Cyprien.

18.14 - Zach Brown, LB, Ten
Wanted a 3rd LB to round out my IDP's and Brown looked to be the best available. Had a good rookie season last year without playing a ton in the first few games. Looking like he'll be a 3 down linebacker this season providing plenty of opportunities. Also like the big play upside that he showed last year racking up 55 sacks, three INT's, and two TD's.

19.01 - EJ Manuel, QB, Buf
The last time I had Tom Brady on my roster, he blew out his knee in Week 1, effectively cannon balling my season. I would have hoped for a more stable backup QB, but they went way to high for my liking. Not having a stable backup, I figured it made sense to go with high upside. Manuel definitely fits the bill. Ideally I never need him, but if ends up being the second coming of Russell Wilson, I'll either have a valuable backup, or trade bait.

20.14 - Brian Hartline, WR, Mia
Looking at my WR corps, I felt like I had a bit too much "boom or bust" in Austin and Patterson. While certainly not a "sexy" pick, I think Hartline is a perfect 5th receiver. Over 1000 yards receiving last season as the only legitimate threat on his team. Mike Wallace will certainly eat into his targets a bit, but should also draw away some coverage. Will be very comfortable throwing Hartline out there during my bye weeks, or should Austin/Patterson end up "busting".

I will not let Jaydog stand alone…

16.01 Mason Foster, LB, TBB - I believe in the Tampa Bay defense and I believe in Mason Foster…

17.14 Jason McCourty, CB, TEN - Felt like I needed a CB…not sure why exactly…but Jason should provide high tackle numbers at a minimum…

18.01 Markus Wheaton, WR, PIT - Hoping for some rookie WR lightning in a bottle…PIT receiving corps is thin and opportunities should be there…

19.14 Jarvis Jones, LB, PIT 20.01 DeMeco Ryans, LB, PHI - Big fan of Jarvis Jones but use remains unsettled so decided to grab another LB. Jarvis and Mason also have the same bye week so DeMeco can also be a bye week option.
