Here are the rules for draft order:

G. CONSOLATION BOWL AND DRAFT ORDER

A Consolation Bracket will be established for the 4 lowest ranked teams at the end of the regular season (using regular season W/L%). The teams will be seeded 1-4. In NFL Week 14, Seed 1 plays Seed 4 and Seed 2 plays Seed 3. The winners of those two games play in NFL Week 15 in the Toilet Bowl.

Draft slot 1 will be the winner of the Toilet Bowl.
Draft slots 2 through 6 will be comprised of non playoff teams sorted by reverse of the previous regular season's points for total.
Draft slots 7 through 13 will be comprised of playoff teams sorted by the reverse of the previous season's playoff seeding.
Draft slot 14 will be the winner of the previous season's playoff.

The draft will maintain the same order every round throughout (it will not snake).

Not sure after reading how that works but what position they currently would take in your draft if you kept them would be helpful. I assume their will not be many picks for any team before the 5th round.

You can get a preliminary sense of each team's pick potential by looking at least year's draft.

If a pick is listed as a keeper, then this year's round for that player will be cut in half. Other picks would require their same round for this year.

Players not drafted would require a pick in the last round.

Complications arise when there are multiple players commanding the same pick. For example, if two players require a 1st round pick and they are both kept, then they will dislodge picks 1 and 2.

If I read the info from last year's draft correctly, it began on a Sunday and took 8 days, 7 and a half actually, ending the next Sunday.

If it takes the same time again, even assuming no-one drafts till Aug. 25, the draft will end a week before the regular season starts.

If that is the case, would not it be better to begin untimed on Thursday the 25th and begin the draft formally on Sunday, August 28 so the key 3rd pre-season game might be seen before picking one's first few draft choices? 13 of that week's pre-season games will have been played by Sunday.

There is actually nothing to "enter" after the draft, since we draft directly on the host site.

I agree with a Sunday Aug 28 start. That might also allow pushing back the keeper deadline a couple of day to get past the week #2 preseason games.

My only concern is that I really would like drafts to be finished before the Labor Day weekend, so I am not chasing folks to get those final round players drafted...

A look at the draft suggests some picks were "Pick made by ADP Rank". I wasn't there and don't know what happened. Could that have been the default when someone timed out?

I get so confused on this.

2016 I draft X at 8 and Y at 9 and Z at 9. All are first time draft picks, , i.e. Not 2016 keepers...

PICK ONE!!😬😬😬
For 2017, X goes to 4, Y goes to 5 and Z goes to 6?

OR
since they were not keepers last year, X stays at 8, Y stays at 9 and Z moves to 10? In other words original 2016 draftee stays in that slot for the following year?

But if only two of those players are kept, I think they command picks 8 and 9 only. 10 was only used for Z because 8 and 9 were already taken. But if 8 or 9 are available, Z would use that slot.

For planning purposes at this stage, X is at 8 and both Y and Z are at 9. You don't have to sort out colliding picks until after keepers are selected.

I just want to confirm what the grid indicates...that where a keeper's draft pick halves, rounding goes against the player -- that is, to a lower number.

The original e-mail about the league I got gave an example of draft picks halving like this...6, then 3, then 2, which suggested that rounding went for the player.

My query is because I see on the grid that LeSean McCoy is listed as a 1st rounder (drafted 3rd last year).

The league rules say that you halve and then round down. So 3 does go to 1.

I also notice that I did not follow one rule properly. Here is the rule:
Only players on a manager's roster at the end of NFL Week 13 and who remain on that roster throughout the playoffs are eligible to be kept the following season.

So any player dropped during the playoffs is no longer eligible to be kept. I didn't check for that - but WG raised a question that prompted me to notice that he dropped Mariota to add Cousins during the playoffs. So by rule, he loses the right to keep Mariota.

RE twolves: Yes, he's eligible to be a keeper. That's the main reason for slotting a player into IR.

WR Sammy Watkins (round 2)
WR John Brown (round 12)
WR Kevin White (round 24)
TE Greg Olsen (round 2)

As of now I'm probably keeping Watkins and Olsen from that list... but I include them here because I'd at least consider moving them under the right circumstances.

When do you want to officially start the draft? Choices seem to be Friday 25 (will weekend get in the way) or Monday the 28th with everyone paying attention and drafting in a timely manner...

I've had Aaron Rodgers for many years in this league. As I recall, I drafted him back when Brett Favre was still the starter. He served me well. My team was dominant for many years.

But the other guys who were the stalwarts of those teams included Ray Rice, Frank Gore, Reggie Wayne, Randall Cobb, Roddy White... all gone or on the way down. After a tough season last year, I decided it was time to blow up the remnants of those teams and rebuild. Blake Bortles (15) actually outpointed Rodgers last year - although I don't expect that to happen again this year.

This is the first year in a long time that I'll have a pick in round 1.

I think CJ Anderson should be a round 12 Keeper this year (not 11).
He was a round 24 Keeper last year, but got bumped up to 23 because I did not have a Rd 24 pick.

Point of clarification.

In the first trade this preseason, mjd traded away pick 24.09. However, the keeper thread shows that he is using that pick for a keeper.

I assume this should be interpreted as trading away his latest available pick (round 22, based on his current keeper selections)?

You can't trade away a pick that you are using for a keeper selection.

Skeepers is in the hurricane so he couldn't set a pick. I know he's been late a lot but I have been in touch with him. I was out when his turn came. He had told me who he wanted, I just got back and finally figured that I had to skip him before I could pick for him. Round about way to do it.

I need to see if I can become him to make a pick.

When I'm out it is usually for a couple hours w/o access, so I have been no help there.
