RIFC AAA #1 Managers - You are each invited (although not required) to post your general reflections on the completed draft. Comments may be as detailed or as general as you wish. As a catalyst, free free to comment on any of the following:

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Non-managers are also welcome to post general comments on the draft, and to raise questions.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?

This is my 17th year playing in this format, so it’s gotten to the point, where I more/less draft by instinct, knowing that the season isn’t won in the draft anyways, so try to draft the best season long pieces you can, and be ready to adjust, both during the draft and the season. My main goals I wanted:

- Get my starting RBs early enough that they have the potential to handle a heavy workload.
- Although I normally feel I can find some good value IDP players most years, those top tier guys are top tier for a reason, so draft a few LBs/DE early (prior to backing up other positions).
- Don’t reach too often. Reach only when necessary for talent, not opportunity alone.
- With lack of a preseason, stay on top of the news, and camp battles, be ready to adjust rankings.
- Although KR/PR players no longer have the same impact they once did in the league, because of the fact that they do that one extra thing, it’s a little bit of higher consistency that can be counted on. So try to make sure I have 1 or 2 of those guys.

I felt fortunate that this worked more/less. Getting Connor prior to his value/ADP going up helped in getting my 2nd RB. Also only a few managers seemed to be specifically moving up / targeting KR/PR players, so I was able to get a couple still at good value.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?

Favorites:
Mecole Hardman (@ 117) & Steven Sims (@ 248) both KR/PR + Dynamic
Darrynton Evans (@ 304) & James Robinson (@ 313) both could see their post week 1 values skyrocket.

Do Overs:
John Johnson (@173) Not really upset by this pick, it’s more that I have a hard time getting excited about DBs. Maybe should have taken Nyheim Hines instead, so then not draft Tevin Coleman (@201)?

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?

Holt - A seasoned vet himself, always drafts a solid squad, up and down. 3 QBs surprised me, mind you.
Donkey Hunters - Looks like a competitive team.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?

The draft, not too much, but the weirdness of the world that we are living in right now. I’m happy to have a few outlets, so that I can focus my energy on relatively positive things. Thanks to Guru as always for setting us up with a well moderated and respectful group to play with!

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?

Not yet… ask me again in 3 months.

1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
RIFC drafts tend to be very RB-oriented early on, which generally leads me to try to get top players at as many other positions as possible and hope one of my late-round RBs pops. That went pretty well, though I would have loved to get Darius Leonard again this year and have a more stable high-end DE1.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
It's tough to get a lot of value over the consensus in the RIFC leagues. If Lamar Jackson (1.13) can stay within 50 points of what he did last season, he should have been the 1st overall pick: he probably won't, though. I made a bunch of high upside picks that could turn out to be excellent values. Kareem Hunt (6.2), Khalil Mack (9.13), Henry Ruggs (10.2), N'Keal Harry (14.2), Dallas Goedert (20.2), and Desmond King (22.2) stand out to me, but I'm really happy with my last half of the draft in general this year.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
I like Holt's chances if Tyler Higbee produces.
I like Fugazi's chances if he turns out to have a reliable RB2.
GoatLocker has some question marks at WR/TE/LB/S but a lot of options in each place and if enough viable starters arise, that should be a formidable team.
SkillpadderNE has a lot of players who could either fail spectacularly or be completely amazing (best encapsulated by the on-field performance of Younghoe Koo).

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
That it was mostly unaffected by COVID-19

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
Not really. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if I took an early draft slot and drafted a top-3 RB and then went with a 3-mid-round-TE and 3-late-round-QB strategy but I can't turn down the banzai 3rd-round reversal and I like how my team turned out.

1.What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
My plan was to go rb-rb-wr and then best talent available. I am also one of the believers of getting a stud LB early and same for DE. I think I was able to execute for the most part. I think I took too many risks, which will really help me or hurt me, but most likely have a team that is inconsistent.

2. What were your favorite picks? Which do you wish you could do over?
I have a lot of favorite picks. Kirk at pick 102, Wentz at 130 for QB2 (way too early for a QB2, but I think the value is there), Jeudy, 186, Lock QB3 at 163 (yes qb3, straight value I think he could have a breakout season and a top 12 qb, trade bait), Barber at 319 and a nice handcuff with Love although the Washington football team is not going to be very good.

Picks I don't like- Cooper at 32. Should have gone with Odel. Gronk at 123. Regret. He won't be able to stay healthy.

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
Holt, but 3 DL and 3 QB.
Donkey and Fugazi.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
The speed. I think we had our fastest draft ever.

5. If you could start over, would you do anything differently?
I think I took Murray too early and became a AZ fan in the middle of the draft. I guess I started to buy the hype and think of their upside. Probably should have taken Mixon or Hopkins and just banked on AZ every week. Really bad strategy. The draft is always fun and nice break.
