PD - Yes, you can go on auto in the first round. The only times you coudn't in the past was when the draft opened up before the actual time it was scheduled to start(oubviously, that didn't happen this year)

J, I feel your frustration as well. However, it's just getting through the 1st round that is tough and frustrating as we are in the process of weeding out the "dead" teams. After the 1st round, the "dead" teams will be on auto. And your talking about just a couple "dead" teams at the most so I believe we have a solid group of managers still active.

Looks like 3 dead ones at the moment. I'm here, and I have talked to bookie so he is still in. I'm guessing J is cause he has posted on the thread. Has anyone tried to contact QB or Gary? I'm guessing blizzard is a lost cause, but I'm surpised about QB and Gary.
OT kinda (but most of us are in the baseball league)....I was looking at our baseball league, does anyone think we should try to get Jessica's info so we can get somebody else in there, she hasn't logged in for awhile. Also, PD and Peter N. ya'll pulled a fast one. I don't like that trade at all.

Gary, the good part is that we have a lot of time after the draft to make moves and pick up late-bloomers. Of course, just jumping in after it started is never easy.

Slosh - I'm still playing baseball. That team has done so poorly I haven't paid much attention to it, but I'd like to hang onto it for next year. I'm having much more fun in the other Gurupies league, where I'm proud to say I'm hanging onto second place :)

J is up.
I have a question about another slow live draft I am doing. It is a 14 team league. I got the first pick. After I took Marshall the next guy took Garcia. I was thinking this guy might be stupid. But after the the 3rd pick(Ahman Green) the next 7 picks were all QB's. When they finally started drafting RB's again Curtis Martin and Edge were taken ahead of players like Rickey, Priest, LT, and Dillon.
Did I miss some thing? IS the QB in sandbox so great you need to take one in the 1st round. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

I think it depends how the draft goes. If QB's start dropping like flies, you panic and take one yourself.
But as for which running backs to take ahead of others, maybe these guys have favorite teams? If not, football is all a big crapshoot anyways!!!

I agree, Roy. I've been very pleased with how my team is shaping up, but also have been intrigued by some of the selections other coaches have made that, frankly, weren't on my radar screen. It should be a very good season with the way the teams are shaping up.

Bags - I was off a day, you can find the link on your Team page in the left frame under Rules and "Live Draft - Slow"
I did a quick cut-n-paste:
During the Live draft, you will be able to select any athlete you want, but the draft card will be used if:
You do not make a pick in the allotted 24 hours of your turn, your draft goes past the cut off date of Thursday, August 29, 2002 at 11:00AM ET, or your league is forced into an Open-List draft because your league was not filled 24 hours before the scheduled draft time.
So we've basically got tomorrow to finish as the cutoff is Thursday AM unless Sandbox backs it off. I don't think we've had enough problems with the slow live drafts to warrant a change, but you never know. They moved a lot of fast live drafts because of problems. I'll check the Sandbox forums tomorrow.

Sumthin' strange here - with 4 guys in my draft queue and none of them QBs, what does the computer do? Only auto's me a FOURTH quarter-back!
Suppose I can have a QB fire-sale once the draft is over. On the other hand, I do have last-place to maintain & you can never have too many QBs to do that.

JW - You can only use the Autodraft if there is an "open" slot on your draft card. That gets kinda dicy in the last few rounds depending on how you set the draft card up. To add insult to injury, you can't see your draft card after the queue is built. That feature's broken in the past 2 games.

We could just transfer everything manually, I'd volunteer to input all the info. Everything could be the same except yahoo doesn't do keepers, but we could do that manually too.

you can use individual defensive players, nothing changes, I even set it to use the same exact scoring that Sandbox uses, so it didn't screw up anyone's draft strategies or anything.
The only thing that would possibly be different is, different H2H schedules and I believe, in yahoo, you have to pick a player off the WW the day before the games start for that week. Also, you can bench someone up til kickoff of that game. If you have Tom Brady & Brian Greise and they play each other on monday night, you can decide on monday night who you want to start.

I added pseudo teams for QB & Blizzard, we can just leave them in there as dead teams, or we can find someone to take their place, but, for now, they're there, I'll draft players, set the first lineup and then not mess with it again.

I'm not planning on throwing away the Sandbox team, but I'm not paying for anything either. Hell with 3 ID's, it'd cost real money!
I'll deal with accessing my team(s) during the "off" peak hours. I'm usually on the PC from 6-8AM CT and at night anyway. Screw peak time.
Usually it's the last minute moves that I screw up anyway.

I don't think I can do the "draft" until we get all 12 in.
So, I guess BillB is getting QB's team, we just need to hear from Gary & slosh23, if we don't, StLCards can get one of em.
Everyone needs to be in there by Tuesday night, so I can have the time to set it all up.

you can use whatever team name you want.
Now we just need Gary, I threw a Pseudo Gary team in there, if I don't hear from him by mid-day Wednesday we're gonna go at it without him I guess. Hopefully he shows!

I just entered, but that made 13 teams? If Gary shows I can always remove my team? Not sure whos place I'm taking. I gave the commish permission to edit my team if that helps anything.

I just dumped one of the Pseudo teams, we're back to 12
From what I can see, at the moment, we have:

Thats 12, So, bookie hasn't signed up yet. If Gary doesn't show in the next 12 hours, you're in StLCards. Hopefully bookie shows too, so we won't have any dead teams.
I'll have the draft finished hopefully before 5 tomorrow, so make sure you enter your starters before Thursday night's game - or if you have no Giants or 49ers you can set it on Sunday.

J - bookie will be joining, if this is where we are playing this year, I know he wants in. Screw it, I will just get him the info; I'm going to register him now so you can do the draft.
I don't know if you thought about it our not, but you should set our draft order (from Sandbox)so that the WW positions are protected. BTW Yahoo doesn't reset the WW order each week, so that is something to keep in mind.
