I have some ideas on the schedule, if we go to the three division format.
Each team plays the others in their division twice. They play the teams outside their division once. That would be 6 + 8 = 14. Since we will have an international division, perhaps we can also get an eastern and western division. Not sure where everyone is at tho. I know AP10 and Ike are in PA. I'm in CO. That's pretty much all I know for the US guys. Post what state you are in. :)
I also came up with a schedule that looks something like this:
Art of Monk
ID: 395332017 Thu, Aug 22, 2002, 13:12
I like the eastern, western and international divisions, but I am not sure if I want to be in the same division as nerf. I am in Utah. So that would be 2 for western. I think Dgrooves is from N. Cal.

how is it fun to see all these crappy u.s. citizens to be convinced they're the best just because they live where the games are played..... i don't want to be autocelebrative, but if it should help you to understand how your stars and stripes asses will be kicked, i must remember that last year not so many of you finished in front of me in fantasy baseball, and i didn't even know a single player's name before the season started. Plus, and ap10 must know it very well, i'm kickin' their asses this year too in the cbs wwf meets mlb division, being 1st overall without drafting the first 5 positions of the live draft.......so, do you think it's safe to make jokes of us non us before the end of the season?......you should have really bad surprises...... ;-).....j.k. .....trying to balance your thrash talkin'.....;-)

Three brothers Neil, Jeb and Bush, were stumbling home late one night and found themselves on the road that led past the old graveyard.
"Come have a look over here", says Neil, "It's Obidiah Jones' grave, God bless his soul, he lived to the ripe old age of 87."
"That's nothing", says Jeb, "here's one named Butch Smith. It says here that he was 95 when he died."
Just then, Bush yells out, "But here's a fella that died when he was 145!"
"What was his name?" asks Neil.

Now that the draft is basically over, I am asking for some advice for my big money league. 10 team league, scoring 1 pt for every 10yds for receiving or rushhing. 1 pt. for every 25 yds passing. No penalities for fumbles or INT. No TE, play 3 Wr(cap might be 4 but most likely 5) and 2 Rb. (Cap is 3). My questions is more regarding what to do with picks 4 - 10 and what kind of strategy to take. I know that rbs. will go like crazy because they do every year and one owner will most likely take manning in the first rd. If I am towards the end of order I am thinking about taking 2 of the best WR, I am sure they would still be out there. Is that a good strategy or not. Just looking for some advice.
171
IRRIDUCIBILI LAZIO
ID: 221441621 Fri, Aug 23, 2002, 12:09
well, considering that after your 2nd pick you'll basically be out for something like 2 rounds, you better choose 1 rb and 1 qb, because wr is the sleeper's reign. trust me, the difference between an elite wr and an average one is far less than the one between an elite qb or rb and the others. basically every team plays 2 wr, sometimes 3, but just 1 qb and 1 rb, so the later you go more difficulties you'll find in finding decent players at qb and rb, while there'll be still a lot of wr available. my 2 cents.

Hey guys, just got back... AP10, do you have a copy of the queue email I sent you? I'm a little confused by a couple picks... for example, Kyle Vanden Bosch was at the top of my DL list, yet I wound up with Roderick Coleman at pick 25-5 when Kyle was still on the board... why? This is particularly a problem since Coleman (my primary backup DL) has the same bye week as 2 of my starting DLs... just curious where the mixup was. Thanks in advance. Still no email access until I get home in a couple of days...

Doug, I'm not sure how Bosch was overlooked. I followed your instructions to the best of my ability and I apologize if there were any minor errors. Handling 4-6 queues isnt the easiest thing to do....
mike, 8 keepers is set in stone. Max of 4O/4D. Yes, trades & waivers are allowed prior to the season and you will be able to do this through the league website. I first have to finish up a few things with the site so it will allow you to do so. This should be done, hopefully before Tuesday.

We did OK... I was a little disappointed with our captain, though. Personally I did pretty well except on day 1 and day 3... day 1 the temps got up to 106 on the course and we were pushing our bikes up exposed fireroads with little shade... I began to suffer from heat exhaustion on day 1 and consequentially made a navigation error that cost us some time (I was mentally quite out of it). Other than that I did pretty well... the female member of our team dropped out after day 3, and the three guys continued on day 4 to the next "transition area" where we met back up with our crew and female teammate. She felt much better and said she wanted to join back up with us if we continued on. To make a long story short, I convinced the team to get back on the course the next morning and we hiked 36 miles (followed by a nice nighttime road biking section), but our feet were all pretty thrashed. It seemed we probably wouldn't cross the finish line without great effort, and frankly I'd had about enough of our team captain at that point, so I wasn't going to push the team back onto the course. Nobody else stepped up to the plate, and so that was that, team "Funky Chunky Monkeys" officially withdrew a bit over halfway (5 days) through the course.
P.S. I'd be interested in swapping Roderick Coleman for my intended pick (Vanden Bosch) or any other decent DL who's bye week doesn't conflict with the rest of my DL. There may be other players I want to swap as well, I don't have my player list, microsoft excel, etc. on this computer so I can't really look into it right now. I'll be home on Tuesday or Wednesday and will be very open to discussions of trades. Feel free to email me if you have any ideas or to let me know who's on your trading block, I'll get back to you as soon as I'm home.

No post from Beebop wanting to trade, he must have already put out some emails. I also wouldn't mind making some trades, I would like to J. Smith. He was the 16th player taken in the draft and I am looking for the same quality of player.

Jimmy Smith? He's already said he's going to sit out the season ... unless he's bluffing I wouldn't touch smith with a 300 foot pole.

i'm interested in trading too, even because it would be unfair by me to compete with such a superior team as the one i built.....;-) jimmy smith? i can give you jaquez green and jamel white if you want......and a 4th round pick for next year.....

I'll give you Galloway and maybe a defensive player if you're interested ... too much of a gamble with Smith he's a stubborn sob

The schedule on the league webpage should reflect the schedule above. I'm still working on being able to process pickups & set your lineup. This new software isnt user friendly at all therefore I'm having to communicate with tech support a lot. Please bear with me, its a first time type of thing.

The software does not allow me to hold transactions for X amnt of time therefore I am thinking about changing it to first come first serve. Thoughts?

first come first serve is fine. I just request that it is stated when it will be started so i dont come home some night and have everyone gone. Derek as far as your work, you are doing great. I give you alot of credit man!! Keep it up!

first come first serve is fine as long as there is a set starting time and date.

Well, I think first-come first-serve sucks for all the many previously discussed reasons, but if we don't have a choice, we don't have a choice. (That sounds so John Madden... stating the painfully obvious). We aren't exactly paying top dollar for the software, so we can't complain too much! Whatever you decide is cool with me, Derek.

Doug, you hit that one right on the head. Sometimes i think it would be better to watch the games on mute when madden announces!!

I'm a little iffy on what 'first come first serve' means regarding transactions.

schedule looks great
first come first serve sucks but if we can't do anything about it, so be it.
in the end it's just a game so no biggie
thanks for everything though derek, this is shaping up very nicely and can't wait for things to really start moving
