Thought I'd copy this here as well...

rfs, I appreciate your extreme hard work setting up this league and you have done a mighty fine job. Cbs.sportsline's draft room is a joke! I pre-ranked my players prior to the draft, because I knew I would be unable to attend. I come back and what do I see?

- 3 TE drafted within the first 6 rounds?
- 3 RB drafted within the first 4 rounds?
- NO Kicker drafted...
- A defense that I had ranked last
- No backup QB's even though I had the QB position ranked MUCH MUCH higher than any other position, so I would've gotten a backup.

I never like to sound pathetic, nor give up, but I see no possible way to turn this team around. Not even through trades. Who is going to trade for mediocre TE's that I drafted in the early rounds? $21 down the drain.

Once again, my frustrations are in no way towards rfs or the rest of the league, rather they are directed towards Cbs.sportsline and their downright pathetic draft room and style. We paid how much money and they cant even manage an auto-draft? Hah...nevermore.

AP10:

FWIW, I feel close to the same way and I attended the draft. It was a comedy of errors in trying to get the draft to operate smoothly.

Even though it wasn't my fault, I will say to you that I am sorry for those that had problems or poor results.

I don't know, for 24 teams, and having to spread the wealth around.... I sort of feel like my team came out ok... I know some people had some problems, but with 24 people in one room... And I imagine the system was made for 8-12 team leagues.. The lag, mistakes, etc were pretty limited.

What I think most people did, was only rank players through 100 or so... Which would definitely be a problem considering if you did an auto draft. Reason why you got that many RB's and TE is, with 24 teams you really gotta look at it as 1st Round, 3rd Round, 5th Round, 7th Round, etc etc... 24 teams is double the usual league.

I think several people are willing to trade, so don't lose hope. I actually need another stronger RB.

And not everyone is going to be happy with how things worked out, being the commish of another league... We have had problems after problems... People fighting, people complaining, etc. It's hard to satisfy everyone. And even harder to satisfy everyone in a 24 team league!

So great work RFS... I haven't looked at all the teams, but I don't think ANYONE has an upper advantage in this league.. It's impossible.

Just got the message from the league, about teams who are invalid, that should help a lot for some in trades.

Falcons need a TE
Ravens need a K
Browns need a TE
Packers need a DT
Vikings need a TE
Redskins need a K

Complaining is a harsh word...

But yah, but considering 3 people need TE's now to make their teams legit.. He has trading power...

I thought I was fairly well prepared, but now after the fact don't know that there is anyway to prepare for this type of draft with the room working the way it did.

But, don't feel absolutely horrible about it.
Haven't had a chance to check out all of the teams, but feel I got some good prospects late that might be worth holding for next year.

This is a Keeper League afterall.

Now to check my bye weeks and make sure I'm not too bad off.

beetski, you got it. The Ravens I am. I'm not sure its complaining when an autodraft cant even give you a complete roster. A sad statement, yes. Complaining, if you want to call it that.

Promize, I configured my cheatsheet for 24 teams and I took 3 hours to input all 400 players last night from midnight - 3am. It is somewhat of a relief to see 2 other teams need a tight end to be valid. We'll see what I can do...

Hope it works out for you A10... I think it will be a fun season, and interesting one since nobody has a team worth of studs...

And I guess your right about CBS... Similiar thing happen last year in our division... Someone had two defenses drafted early in the draft... Sarge even warned people in our draft to make sure they showed up this year...

ESPN's works well, it was picking all the right players last night...

My next draft is with Sandbox, hope that one is good... I gotta draft defense players over there.. that will suck

Oh, by the way

We have a message board for the league, I suppose we could start posting there... Seems like others already started there anyways, requesting trades, etc.

I am amazed: I got Eddie George and Marvin Harrison as the 24, 25th picks!!! (Am I missing something, is one of them awfully injured/braindead?!?)

I would like a kicker however...

I realize so much can happen with injuries, trades, sleepers, etc., but just for kicks I wanted to get my prediction on record before the season starts:
AFC Playoffs (East/West) - Colts, Texans, Bills, Raiders
NFC Playoffs (North/South) - Bears, Seahawks, Giants, Cowboys

I also think the AFC looks stronger than the NFC overall. It will be interesting to compare the overall inter-conference record at the end of the regular season.

I dno, Jay Fiedler isnt that reliable, Bills and raiders look good, I like the Jags chances, and I like the vikings as maybe a sleeper

I am happy with my key personnel in RB and WR with the Colts. Am not real happy with my smaller roles like TE and K. Fiedler was a steal getting him as late as I did--#133. Took a chance with Chandler as K when my pick went off the board in janikowski right before me. I droppe dhim already as they named cortez the starter yesterday. I haven't looked at the other teams much except my 1st week opponent in Jacksonville, but I'll take a look now that you've brought it up.

Ref - Who me? Yeah, I was talking about our draft.

beetski - Vikings look ok, but I'm not too sure that Carr's stats will impress anyone this year (and Weinke isn't even starting), and they are currently getting 0 points at the TE position. That needs to be addressed before they can be considered a sleeper.

I ranked the Jags #9, or, the best team not to make the playoffs... so I won't be suprised at all if they make it. The 49ers are an underrated D. They could be in trouble if Green stuggles though, as there's no real backup at RB.

Watch out for the Ravens...

Doug, I think you ranked the teams using last years points and their current starters. First off, this is a different year. 2nd off, I dont have my starters in place + I dont have my kicker yet. Once these are obtained, I should be well over 70+ Guru Pts.

I will not call anyone out on this but I only see eleven teams with adequate running backs or enuff balance to have any chance to stay competitive week in and week out. Since this is a H2H league this is almost like playing in a league with thirteen inactive managers. I hope the luck of getting easy matchups evens out over the season. I guess it should.

Here's hoping most managers who had a bad draft [and I am very well aware this was often due to bad CBS mechanics] will view this league as a long term project, stay active, comb the WW and the rookie crop hard and get back in the running. Saving a lost team will earn plenty of respect from the rest of us.

I felt getting Mcnabb with the fifteenth pick overall was fabulous considering how few stud QB's there are.

My second pick almost screwed my whole draft as I only found Jamal Lewis with a fraction of a second before It autopicked on me. I did not have an adequate Queue built up and hadn't expected the RB's to be that thin by pick 34.

I feel my draft was made when Portis was still available for my fourth pick. Of course there is no guarantee he will feature this year but that is the beauty of being in a keeper league. 8] I expected him to go higher in a keeper league. I really felt sorry for the guy drafting right after me who was praying he lasted one more.

I had instructed my son to draft Tim Couch for my backup QB and he was still available when he came around but thru the wonders of CBS I ended up with Rob Johnson who has already turned into Shaun King on my roster. Not having a starting QB for the bye week is not a good thing. If King does manage to wrest the starting job [hey I like him better than any QB named Johnson] then I will have some serious trade bait. I think Gruden's QB throwing to Keyshaun and McCardell should be worth something more than a backup role. 8]

BTW gratz to PD for getting Rodney Pete. Nice to see someone who got screwed by the system recover somewhat. 8]

AP10, I ranked using my projected stats for this year and who I would plug in as the starters if I were the one managing the team... if a team doesn't have a K, TE, or D/ST (there's only one of each) then I assumed they would acquire a 6PPG K, 3PPG TE, or 7PPG D/ST soon.

Baldwin - I felt the same way grabbing Garcia at #14... I actually have him projected as the #1 QB, just a hair head of Culpepper (then Warner, Manning, McNabb, and Brooks, and so on).

Clearly, injuries will play a huge role in this league... if your starter goes down, odds are your backup (if you have one) will show a major dropoff in point production from your first stringer... more so than in other leagues. The same holds true for other positions... a lot of teams (mine included) are reaching to fill the 2nd flex spot (for example, I'm going with Larry Centers until Zereoue gets more time or Crowell returns ot the lineup). But I just had to take what the draft offered me... I ended up weaker than most at my RB spot (Thomas Jones) but fortunately the game isn't won or lost at any one position!

I must be living right or something. Check your team for this sort of thing.

After 2 tuff games with Ksoze and Goatlocker and one game with Turley where I play without Jamal Lewis I then face...

CCRider without Edge
Twarpy without Culpepper
StL Cards I have McNabb on Bye/ he has one QB bye but 2 starters
Blueballs without Eddie George and Derrick Mason
Promize without Rickey Williams
Tarheelkid with one QB bye but he has 2 starters/ I lose Portis/Anderson
Canadian Pride without Willie Green, Price and no TE
SkineeJ Very tuff game here with no byes

Obviously, there is a conspiracy surrounding Baldwin's schedule. An investigation is underway..... rfs ®

What's weird is that the only waivers I've been able to get are the ones I really didn't want so much. They were like 7 or 8th on my list. Then I missed all the ones I wanted yesterday. It's gonna be even tougher than I thought. What's worse is that when you go to trade, their really isn't a whole lot to trade that would appeal to others. Wow, this is pretty tough.
