I would like to clarify that fumbles lost are -3 pts. 2 pt conversions will count as 2 points for everyone involved. Blocked kicks and blocked punts will count as 3 points for ST.

Don't know if you want to edit the draft thread so we all know the order due to the trade I made with dgrooves.
Dgrooves and myself made a trade. He gives up:
Donald Driver - WR - GB
Pick 2.5
Pick 3.8
Pick 6.5

I give up:
Shaun Alexander - RB - Sea
Pick 8.8
Pick 9.5
Pick 10.8

AP10 will you be making Lazio's 1st pick and Ike's 2nd round pick?

I am trying to figure out when my next pick might be going. I might just have to email you a queue. You don't open the queue untill the owners pick is due, right?

Thanks for extending the clock a bit Derek... hopefully things will move at an adequate pace, while also allowing people a bit more flexibility in their schedules.

I'm awake now, so don't execute my queue unless my time's up... I might have second thoughts depending on who's been drafted already. Thanks for your help!

Even at a rate of 2 rounds per day we'll be done by the end of next week, so I think things are going fine. We'll actually probably get a bit more than 2 rounds per day, since once the draft starts to snake the end/start of each round tends to be pretty quick.

OMG... do we have a say on trades on draft day? That seems to be a bit unbalanced. straight up I can understand as the injury to Holmes offsets his ridiculous offensive output over EVERYONE. But why add a 3rd round for 23rd round? Is Holmes really that bad?

a bit strange for draftday trade.

Does anyone really know what Priest will do this year? Sure he could return to his previuos self or he could pull an Edgerin James. TO is the most consistent WR in the game. Maybe I'm getting a steal but I also think I'm taking a huge risk. The injury Priest suffered was very similar to Bo Jacksons, which ended his career. Sure the signs are looking good, but I still think there is a lot of risk involved.

We can put it to vote if the demand is there however...

wiggs, 2 other people do care.

The question is not whether you agree with the trade or would've made the trade but rather if the trade is extremely unbalanced and jeopardizes the league. As the commish, I have to extremely cautious of trades I'm involved in. I dont want people to think I have an advantage being commish, because I really do not. Another point to remember, is that the trade really boils down to this...

Terrel Owens for Priest Holmes & an 11th round draft pick (8 keepers + 3rd round). Obviously I feel I am getting the better end of the bargain, or I would'nt of made the trade, but I dont feel I am robbing anyone. Priest is a huge question mark, Terrel is one of the most consistent stud WR in the league...

Since you asked... I don't think it's outside the realms of possibility that this deal will turn out to be even or to beebop's advantage, it's just highly unlikely. Usually in a trade you would have most owners going "hmm... would I take A or B" whereas here it seems pretty clear that everyone would have taken this deal... there is a CLEAR winner in this trade. Usually these types of unbalanced trades only occur when trading out of need... and with a large number of decent WRs left I don't think you can argue that beebop was trading out of need. Based on the news reports over the past few weeks regarding Priest I can't see this as comparable to an Edgerrin James type of situation... I guess it's unusual situation, but maybe it's just that I personally feel his question mark status is being blown out of proportion.

This is reflected in the fact that in just about any draft or mock draft I have seen this year, people are taking Priest AHEAD of Owens... (maybe one or two rare exceptions) the only difference being that this is a keeper league, and so that could even it out a little bit since WRs have longer NFL shelflife... but severity of the discrepancy of the draft picks is what seems so ludicrous IMHO. If this trade included a 3rd round pick for a 4th or 5th round pick... that might at least be more fair, because I can see how you would argue that there isn't a question mark with TO so the trade swap was a compensator... but 3rd for 23rd... wow... that's just hard to swallow. I would not vote against this as collusion because I think I know you guys a bit and believe your intentions are true, but I personally think it is very lopsided and that beebop got taken to the cleaners. I think it caught all of us off guard because I don't think anyone had any idea that Holmes was on the market (unless I missed a post somewhere). I probably would have traded Moss for Holmes WITHOUT any draft pick exchange! In short, I'm a bit miffed by it all, but ready to move on with the draft... I'm no longer in a trading mood...

Really......im not 100% sure of Priest at this point. I dont expect him to do much this year, but maybe in 2004 he will. Still be pretty good, but not his normal stellar numbers this year.
My other RB is still pretty good, and IMO, my offense was good last season, only let down by defense, but WR was not a good position for me til the end of the season.
It also helps me with who i will draft when, so it works for me strategically.

3rd for 4th works for me. That's a bit more fair.

And I agree with Doug on the point that none of us saw this coming, nor do I like the fact that a trade of this calibur was made where a part of the deal (pick 3.4) would be done before we could vote on it, if we wanted to. Which I dont think was necessarry, but still.

Nerf, beebop contacted me on Saturday about trading a WR for Priest. I originally only offered Amani Toomer for Priest straight up. He said, no and that he was going to try and get Harrison or Moss. I assumed he contacted the other managers. Yesterday, when he was online, I spoke with him again and that is when the trade happened. Regarding the trade being so close to the draft pick. I stopped the draft from ~8pm EST until ~1am EST to get a response. The only responses I received was from wiggs & Doug...

Derek, does the draft clock reset overnight? For example, mike used about 1:09 of his 1:30 last night (before midnight). Does that mean he has 21 minutes left this morning, or does the clock reset to 90 minutes?

Running clock.

dgrooves, will you be around tonight? I'm going to the Orioles game and will be gone from 4pm - midnight EST. Would it be alright if I left all of the queues with you, including my own?

sorry to hold up the draft for a little over an hour. I am going out of town Thursday afternoon and will not be back until late Saturday night. I am not sure if I will have any internet access. Lucky for me I traded my 8,9,10 picks, but if we get to rd. 11, I would appreciate if somebody could give me a call and get a draft recap. I will leave a que but when about 50 picks have been made, I am not sure how helpful my que will be. Shoot me an email if you would be willing to give me a call. I am guessing we might not get to my pick until sometime saturday.

We're currently moving at a pace of 2.5 rounds per day...

Yes, but the last 7 picks have been over a 6 hour (clock) period. That equates to barely 1.5 rounds per day...

I'll feel a little more at ease once we get through round 12-13.

I'm here all. working midnights sure doesn't make drafting any easier, hehe.

I'm sure we're going to have these days when things are slow. Generally things have moved good and I'm sure they'll continue to do so.

Arts up. beebop is on deck and LAZIO is in the hole.

dwfffan originally emailed me a queue, however he sent me another email stating he was now around and could make his own pick. I deleted his queue once I received the 2nd email or I would make his selection. He can pick when he returns...

funny , I was just going to say that it's a pretty good place to get bennett. he could come back this year and he's a good keeper pick. you just have to be set at back.

I would of thought about picking him up if 2 of the 3 running back keepers didn't have the same bye week.

Yeah, once I saw Zereoue named as the starter I figured he would go fairly soon. As you probobly read I was scrambling to move up in the draft to grab him. I'm glad it worked out.

How was the O's game? It's tough to get excited over a last place team. As a Rangers fan this time of year is hard. With the addition of younger players, this year hasn't been as bad.
