I understand that we all have other things going on in our lives and I hope he isnt involved in some type of emergency, but Im a little sick of him holding up the draft.

I agree, some people take these things was too seriously. and that's where the trouble will begin.
I understand people want to get this thing moving and so do I but the snide comments don't do any good. that being said the snide comments back don't help either.
I just really like this league and don't want it to go downhill because of something stupid like this.

read his posts, he complains about people not picking quick enough in every post. I let them go, but i feel like it is getting ridiculous for him to keep mentioning the time it takes per pick.
I work for 7-330 and i dont have any access to the computer the whole time i am gone. I check before i leave in the morning to see if it is my turn or if i will be up soon and if i am, i send a queue. The other day we had 8 picks in about 3 hours, we havent done that all draft, and i missed a pick, so what does he suggest? He wants to shorten the time between picks. That just doesnt make sense to me.
I know IL lives out of the US and i believe he said he had a 6 hour time difference. Should he have to stay up all night waiting to see if it is his turn? I dont think so.
I can see speeding it up if we are running out of time, but we arent, not yet atleast.

wiggs, you need to get your facts straight. I have yet to mention the time it taken per pick. I simply list who has picks to make up and who is currently on the clock. Once again, Derek nominated me as assistant commish. Also, Derek was the one who proposed reducing the clock to 60 minutes, not me.
If you dont like my posts, dont read them. I am simply doing what I thought I was expected to do.
Thanks Art. Post 51 is what I was saying, even though I belive I made myself clear in post 34. I said that we all have other things going on and that I hope dwfffan isnt involved in an emergency situation. Why does that make me a prick?

I say this with all sincerity and abscense of condoscension: please read my posts because I think you are misinterpreting them.
Yes, I would like the draft to move faster but I have yet to make it personal or use insults. What is so wrong with me asking a question or offering my opinion (which others agree with, BTW) with the word ridiculous in it? I think we had 4 of 6 picks time out in one span that day. It WAS ridiculous.
If youve got a personal problem with me and my posts, feel free to send me an email. Otherwise, I say let this drop.

I left ap10 a que for the rest of the draft. I will be in an out all day and gone for the weekend. Good luck with the rest of the draft.
I hate to bring up the subject again, but I think after rd 20 is complete, we might need somebody to pick for dwiffin. I know I said all of these players are back up players, but missing 4 picks in a row could hurt a team and give a unfair advantage to a division. This is just a suggestion.

yes, but we have about 4 rounds listed, with a lot of wrong picks, as mines, and it's really difficult to search everytime a player in that list and in the depth fantasy charts......it would be easier if that page could be updated everyday, or at least if the depth charts at the start of it could be updated ....

Well, Derek is the only one that can update the site, so I cant help you there. But I guess I could tell you what I do. I try to cross each player off of my lists as they are picked. Also, I do a search of the web page (the draft thread) using the Find function of my browser (CTRL-F). It doesnt always work perfectly (I have also picked a player that was already on someones team), but its a good check.

Sorry wiggs, but I did not skip your pick. Bags picked NYG ST at 12:15. mike timed out at 1:45. You timed out at 3:15. I almost timed out (with about 25 minutes to spare).
Also, I am not expected to tell you when to pick. Derek never did, so I dont see why I should have to. Every other time someone has timed out and another pick was made, no one (yourself included) complained about never being told they were on the clock.

I was doing the gentleman like thing making sure someone didnt have his queue. I was waiting for someone to say, what was going on. Do you job as the vice Commish and keep the draft on track if thats what you want to do.
Derek, I have to say I agree with about everything you have done in organizing this draft and best bets pretty much everything we see eye to eye, but i have to say i think you messed up giving Dgrooves any power/control in this league. I am sorry, but that is my opinion.

wiggs, I really dont understand why you feel the need to single me out. I wasnt the only one posting when people timed out. I wasnt the only one who commented on the speed of the draft. Yet, for some reason, youve chosen to direct your anger towards me.
If you were doing the gentleman thing and waiting (which is nice, although the rules clearly allow you to pick as soon as someone times out), why didnt you post here asking if someone had his queue?
In post 85, I informed everyone who I had queues from. mike did not post here saying he had a queue. It was nice of you to wait, but there was no reason for you to expect him to have left a queue or for me to know you were waiting in case he had left a queue.
I have done nothing wrong, nothing unethical, nothing against the rules, and nothing to abuse my "power". Honestly, I am really getting pissed off at your constant bashing of me. Now I know how Derek felt after the SilentDevil incident last year.

You can get as pissed at me as you want. I couldnt really care a less how you feel about me. I have always been good about leaving queues and telling people if something came up when i wouldnt be around. I guess maybe it is my fault for not throwing a pick out there as soon as the 90 minutes was up, but i see that we have about 20 more picks to finish the draft and we have 6 days to do it in. I dont really see the rush to get every pick in within the 90 minutes. I think you need to learn a little thing called patients.

Or maybe Ive got queue for the rest of the draft from a number of people. Maybe that means they wont be around for the rest of the draft. Maybe we all know Derek isnt going to around much for the rest of the draft. Maybe I have a life and have things other than this draft to do this weekend. Maybe all this means that I would like to finish this draft today or tomorrow morning.
Otherwise I need to find someone to send the queues I have, including mine. With a number of people already missing, maybe its in everyone's best interests to finsih this thing soon.
What "power/control" do you think Derek has given me, or could give me for that matter? All Ive do ne is accept queues, check into the draft more often than I normally would, make picks for people, put up a temporary website, and put together a spreadsheet. Oh, and take unwarranted sh!t from you.

Since it seems like the draft has stalled, is there anyone willing to accept the queues I have? Ive got one for Art for his last 2 picks, the same for Doug, and I would need to send you a queue for my last pick.
I should be able to check in tomorrow morning, but after that I'll be gone for the day.

I dont want to get int he middle of this, but I dont see where dgrooves has done anything wrong. rules are rules and in order to get the best pick possible within those rules, I have my finger on the button if the manager before me times out. I have done it at least twice in this draft. It's not wrong.
I picked at 8:30, and its still the last pick, so I think 22.7 and 22.8 have timed out. 22.9 times out at 10am.

I definately never received your queue. I'm not sure what happened but if I would've received your queue, I would've definately made your selections.

guys, it's becoming really difficult to me to make selections. it's a long process to scan the lists everytime, expecially if the last time they were updated has been about 3 days and 4 rounds ago. fortunately we're at the end of the draft....

Guys. You will need to bear with me as my DSL connection in my apartment is having some major problems. I can connect to IM but I can barely browse web pages. 90% of the time webpages are not loading and the 10% that they do load takes 10 minutes. They should have the problem fixed within the week, hopefully! Anyways, I plan on getting everything updated ASAP. Waivers will officially begin Tuesday 9/3 and will go through the first game on Thursday.
