Just in case some may not have seen this in the last thread:

Guys here is the invisible ink code. If we should not be able to find someone to leave a queue with here is a nice tool that can be used. It does require the honor system not to peek:)

I'll set up a seperate thread to handle these.

The code for "invisible" words is pretty simple.

Put this in front of the words:

... just replace the [ and ] with < and >

and then put this to turn off invisible type:

... making the same substitution to use the < and >

What happens when somebody does pick somebody on an "invisible" queue...The person that left that queue is going to be VERY suspicious. Check Discussion #2 for the word on my queue...haha.

actually guys, i'm up, but Promize picked someone who has already been picked.

this held us up before, but i'm gonna give him a little bit of time before i pick, since he was already skipped earlier for the same problem...

Promize - if you hit ctrl-F on the draft picks thread, and type in the last name of the person you're looking for - or even part of it - it'll search the whole thread.

peace,

Tree;

Either S..t or get off the pot (please :>). THK is here and I am ready to turn it, but I am available only for a limited period of time.

Like Promize, I have other stuff to do. There is not much excuse for not going thru the find function (netscape is control H) Control F on explorer, once you have picked apreviously drafted player.

I will ck back shortly. But when I finish my other draft duties I'm gone for the night and, as I understand it, THK is in classes all day and then you have a holiday w/e.

I'm don't think Matt Hatchette is in the TSN database. I did a search on "Hat" and didn't find anything within DnT. That would make Promize's selection at 9.5 invalid I'm sorry to say again.

Someone, please feel free to verify my search of the DnT file. Question is, what are we going to do about it? Is Promize around?

I'm not sure someone has to be on a database to be picked. But if I can't find the name to enter it in the draft, he'd be in trouble. Suggest we let Promize deal with this later tonite or tomorrow but let's keep picking if we have warm bodies.

Agreed. He can always select another player. That's what CCRyder did in the Pol. draft after we determined Lavar Arrington isn't in the Yahoo database and probably won't be due to an ongoing licensing disagreement with the NFLPA.

Maybe the TSN forums will have the answer for a change. lol

OK, gang

The teams have been loaded with all selections through THK's 10.2

You won't be able to see the results of my labors because nothing will show up on your individual teams until I hit the "begin season" button in Commissioner's tools.

I will enter these as we go now so that we'll be able to start ASAP.

Don - as long as people make it a point to check their computers with at least a little bit of regularity, we're really pretty well off - we've got 5 1/2 rounds to go, and 7 days until the start of the regular season.

what we DO need to know is if anyone is going to be away from their computer for an extended period of time - i.e. more than 8 hours - this weekend, especially since it's a holiday weekend - that could make a huge difference.

my plans - saturday i've got something work related i have to attend - which could take up a large chunk of the day, depending on how much it annoys me.

and sunday i've gotta do some shopping. it's gonna start getting chillier, and the shorts and t-shirts i wear to work every day aren't gonna cut it..LOL...but monday, i'm home free! woo hoo!

i think once we got over the initial bumps, we've had a rather kick ass draft - it's going along at a steady clip, but now, communication is of the essence...everyone should leave *AT LEAST* one email address and/or an AIM name, or even a tele number...

on AIM i'm Treesham01 (zero-one)
work email is above, essentially from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm eastern m - f
home email is treesham@nyc.rr.com

peace,

I'll be in and out most of the weekend. I'll leave a queue in the invisible ink thread if I see my turn coming up soon.

Let me strongly encourage you to leave a queue in the invisible ink thread or with someone if you know you're going to be gone an extended period of time.

Frankly if we're in this for fun there shouldn't be any problem leaving an invisible ink queue.

Slow drafts aren't bad it's just a matter of timing and understanding it won't be over in two hours.

One thing I hope I've learned is set your rules for the draft up and then keep them in place.

Speaking of slow drafts can't wait until Late Feb and the keepers baseball draft:) Any season has got to be better than this years train wreck;)

i seem to have done something (i update it with every pick, and at the end of the work day email it home, then in the morning email it back to work), and somehow lost about 6 rounds worth of picks.

i'm hoping i just emailed myself the wrong version this morning, and still have the correct one at home...

otherwise, i'm gonna spend an hour tonight re-filling in the blanks, then i'll post it. urp!

Give me 5m to digest and I'll get my pick up. I'm still trying to get over the 24-0 score the Cowboy's put on Oakland in the 1st quarter!

Not sure...I don't really have a solid #2 and I am looking for some depth to go week by week in the #2 spot. Let me know what you think: dsw827@aol.com

As tempting as that is, this is the last round and we haven't bypassed anyone since that disastrous last weekend.

So we're going to wait and hope that he shows up to make his pick. We seem certain to have our draft completed before the season starts.

Wiggs,

Althought Charlie Rogers (the one from Miami) is in our database and eligible to be picked) when I went to load the teams, I discovered he isn't in the Yahoo base.

You can either re-pick your last selection or pick someone up from the waiver wire. Either way, please do something before the end of the day on Sunday. I'd like to get this thing done.

Thanks,

Don

Don - surely Charlie Rogers of Mia will be added to teh database, and i would presume that if Wiggs wants to retain his rights, he would have first shot at him when he is added, provided he leaves a roster spot open.

I need a pick by 9 p.m. ET or I will close the draft and you may pick from the waiver wire.

Everyone else --- If this ends up happening, please do not make any transactions --- in fact I will not allow them ---- until THK has selected.
