With the new scoreboard, it really leaves a hole if your team doesn't have a logo. I'm playing eh this week and he has a hole on his side where his logo should be. The new scoreboard is impressive.

By the way, I figured out a way to make the negative numbers work (thanks for nothing CBS for ignoring my questions). Still not sure if it's working properly though. For instance, right now Ahman Green should have -.5 but is showing -.1. Still tinkering with it.
WooHoo, Priest again!

ok, I'm out of ideas. Unless CBS changes the code, anything negative is giging that player a flat -.1 instead of multiplying it out. I've tried every scenario I can think of to make it work, but it will be easier to simply do away with that and change things manually each week than have it simply off by .1 or by .04 for negative passing. If anyone has any ideas, you can see the current config. in our help/league rules.

As I recall, I lost a couple of very close games at the beginning of last season. Now, it looks like a close one again to start this year. I need about 5 points from Brad Johnson against the Eagles Monday night.

To think I was happy on Thursday with 11pts from the Wash D. Buffalo D gets 38pts and sends me to an 0-1 start. Unfortunately Plummer seems to be even worse on Denver!

Did some brief analysis. Will get more when they allow me to look at all the breakdowns before correcting the final scores of a couple people. I'm still hopeful that CBS will get me an answer. (fixing their broken code!)
Lowest score to win was rfs with about 68 pts, while the highest score to lose was Can Pride (sorry dude) with around 78 or so. While it's all about who you play sometimes (i.e. I would have lost to Twarpy while Can. Pride would have beaten most of the league had he not had to face me) we still didn't have anyone winning thus far with an absurdly low score.
Will evaluate the defensive yds against numbers when those breakdowns are available to us.

CBS Response: Hi Ref: Unfortunately, that is not an option with our system. You'll have to use SCOREBOARD /ADJUST SCORING for negative yards.
Thank you, The Commissioners' Office Commish Mike
What I will likely do is take negative yards off altogether and simply fix them manually as before. Currently you are assigned -.1 for any amount of negative yards.

The boards are back up. If you simply click on teams, you get a list of all the teams and where available their email addresses and Instant Messengers. I know this as I just found that out!!! I'd been using my commish controls to email before. Didn't occur to me to simply click on teams. Before it was on that team's name/logo on their lineup page. Anyhow, to update that info, you can simply go to options/personal to edit your info.
Still unable to manually update scores but, again, won't change things much and won't change any wins/losses, but you never know when the tiebreaker comes into play.

As a way to keep us active and more interesting, we're gonna try and come up with a new poll each week. Will also try and change the commish msg often. Everything is changed around so much and CBS has been less than helpful, but I found the adjust scoring button on my own (rfs it's at the bottom of the page--can't believe I even found it).
Here are the scoring adjustments--please go back and look at your game and tell me if you or your opponents adjustments were missed. I've added explanantions to the adjustments on the site. I'm going to leave the current configuration as that will at least get all the -1 yds rush/rec/passing correct from the start(-.1/-.1/.04). It will also make a more accurate assessment on all individual players, albeit miniscule.
Jax: Brunell -2 yds rushing adjustment -.1 more TB: DJ -2 yds rushing -.1 more GB: Martin -7 Rec yds -.6 more
This is all I can find (but it's very easy to miss as the teams are not in order and jump around when you look at each game). I will consider these scores final unless someone brings additional teams that have players with a greater than -1 yds rush/rec/passing. The scores are not reflected yet. I'm assuming they will show up once the next stats are run (hopefully tonight).
Thanks for your help and patience.

Also, you can once again pick up a player from their "compare" page. Under the teams logo, it has a link that says pick up this player. It also says when their waivers expire if applicable. I think this addresses all of the problems that have been brought to my attention and we're good to go from here on out.
As a reminder, when CBS adds a player to their database, they automatically go on waivers for two full days. i.e. if THK gets signed today to be the starting kicker in Dallas and CBS added him to the db today, he should be eligible to be acquired via waivers on Sunday morning or via F.A. right after waivers have run should no one pick him up. If he's added Friday and you request a waiver pick-up on him, you won't be able to get him until Wed. I believe as once the Freeze hits--they all go back into waivers through Wed. morning.
Last I heard Cundiff still had the job--sorry THK!

this certainly does not affect the outcome of week1 but this from rototimes:
Travis Henry The NFL's official scorers reviewed a fumble by Travis Henry last week and decided to change it to an aborted play, according to the Buffalo News. Not only does the decision remove the fumble from his stat line, but it increases his yardage on the day from 86 to 89, since the Bill lost three yards on the play.

StL, CBS will fix that itself. Hopefully that 2.3 pts will not change any outcomes but if it did, the site would do it automatically.

Don't forget to check out the bboard on our site and the new poll each week. I just added that the 2 in 12 chance of playing the #1 ranked team right now (out of conference) has hit me and what are the odds that it's the same week that Priest and Gonzo are on bye weeks!?!?!?!? Anyhow, The Twarpster is the team I'd least like to face. I guess I may be trying to influence the poll a little, but I don't think is league leading score last week is a fluke.

The manual scoring adjustments are reflected in the scoring now. The change in offical scoring in the Bledsoe/Henry situation has not been changed by CBS as of yet. We are assuming that CBS wil automatically correct it when their stat feed comes in. We will continue to monitor that situation and take action if and when it is warranted.

Of all the trades yesterday, AP10s wasn't the one I looked at hard, it was skineej's trade of Dez White. Thought ok, maybe he is high on this guy he's getting...then he drops him altogether. Since Dez White is still a starter and skinnee only moved up one round in the draft, that's the one that I thought people would be talking about.
I did ask AP10 what he was thinking after I approved the trade and when he explained it to me, I see exactly what he's doing. I think it will end up being a good trade for both.

rfs, you had no chance w/o a QB to do much. IF Warner is healthy, then cool, but I would have done the same thing you did. Sometimes you have to overpay. However, since Leftwich isn't playing yet, Pete can only hope that Byron get s the nod by his QB's bye in week 9. Don't think Pennington will be back by then.
Btw, for all of you who are in our Hoops League, we've started a new thread and we need your input with the topic at hand.

Well, my take was Dez is the starter for now in Chicago, but I doubt he will be by season end. Plus, as long as Kordell is the QB I don't have much expectation for him. That being said, I do expect Dez to have a good game this weekend and I thought about keeping him until my GB wrs are healthy. I felt that there were a couple WRs in FA that had just as good a chance to put up numbers similar to White, so by picking up another 1st rounder next season it made sense to me. The player that was traded to me was going to be dropped anyway, so no real loss in my mind.

Btw, we are still monitoring the Bledsoe/Henry official scoring change situation. I have posed the question to CBS since they have yet to rerun their stats, yet Yahoo! has and the change is reflected. If CBS isn't going to re-run them, I will change the team scores manually. This stat could have a huge impact on many leagues, though for us, it will simply affect a possible tie-breaker for Twarpy and Peter N.
In case you haven't heard: According to the Buffalo News, the NFL's official scorers have reviewed last week's game and changed a fumble by Travis Henry to an aborted play, shifting the blame, and the negative yardage, to Drew Bledsoe. They ruled that Bledsoe didn't get Henry the ball. So Henry finished with three more yards, from 86 to 89, as the Bills lost three yards on the play.

FYI--CBS HAS in fact credited blocked kicks (finally), but it does NOT credit blocked FG for some stupid reason. We will NOT be adjusting scores manually to add a point for that as we had hoped it would do that automatically. I think my team is the only one that has blocked XPs this year so no one should be complaining ;)
CBS has yet to fix the Henry/Bledsoe scoring change nor have they replied to my request to what they were doing about it. This will be changed either automatically (by CBS rerunning the stats) or manually by us.

Has anyone else looked at the game previews? I just found them while clicking around on the site and they are pretty interesting. Were they there last year, or am I just really slow in finding these things? I am wondering where they get the numbers for their player projections. Also, the coach rating is interesting. How is that calculated? I am rated in the top 10, but I finished sub .500 last season and am 1-1 this year. Does it take into account your players and give you credit for winning with what you have? Anyway, I am projected to lose to deepsnapper this week, but according to my coach rating I should find a way to win! ;)

I'm pretty sure it's a new feature this year (the matchup analysis). I'm guessing the numbers provided are their "fantasy expert" opinions of how those players will do this week.
Not suprisingly I'm projected to lose against Ref. Of course I'm facing him in a week when I've got 4 players with byes. Somebody's rigging the schedule! =-) (And before anyone blows a gasket, that was just a joke). Seriously, I think my only real hope is that the Priest decides to take this Sunday off. Not very likely.

This is not a new feature per se. They had the projections before, but Twarpy just showed this to me this week. The coach's rating is new and the projections are fancied up. Twarpy was talking about the coach's rating something like the players you start vs. have on your bench or something. Since my bench have had a bunch of scrubs, I should be at the top instead of at #7. I guess AF is the top coach in their ratings.
Doug, since the schedule was purely at random and 2 games based on SOS from last year, it's obvious you were kidding.
My very good defense is on bye this week and subbing it with Cleveland's. As for Priest, he is hurt and is listed as questionable this week, but he missed the entire playoffs last year and I still won without him, so I'm hoping that if my top player is out, the other guys can help pick up the slack...a tall order indeed. My gut says he'll play though, albeit not close to 100%.

Does anyone ever look at breakdown and power? I used to only pay attn. to pwoer, but I think breakdown may be even more telling. Your record against the league if you'd have played every team every week.
The new poll is out. Couldn't think of much so please give me some ideas for the future. I'm a little surprised how dead we've been this year. More bye weeks this week so maybe it will pick up. Very little chat on here or the site.
The Colts vs. Benglas this week here in a battle of 3-0 teams. One will fall. It will likely be me falling since 3 of my studs are on bye weeks, but I wouldn't bet against me. Though not having a starting QB at this point nor suitable replacements for my other guys may be a problem. Doubt anyone will go undefeated though so, if I'm gonna get beat, might as well do it right and get blown away. I can handle that much better than the game I lost by less than a tenth last year on the final play of Monday Night Football!!!
