The number was 16. Lilpeeper-Ctown Comets was closest with 18 and has selected to pick in the 5th spot. Promize-PromizeRams was second with 28 Tree-The Old Kick was third with 33
From here Promize needs to pick his spot and then Tree gets the scraps. I'm going to leave it to the 3 teams to organize the supp. draft which should occur in this thread or at another agreed spot. Everyones email address is available in the yahoo manager list. Good Luck.

Ok, so I will take 2nd in the 3 team draft...
And if the draft snakes, I will take 7th in the main draft.. It it doesn't snake, I will take 6th.
I'm ready to draft whenever Lilpepper is ready...
Just make your first pick.

I already know I really really really really confused everyone with draft numbers. I believe that LilPeeper wanted the second pick in the supp draft which is the 5th pick in the 3 round keeper draft (refer to email). The other picks are 1st in the supp draft and 4th in the keeper draft and 3rd in the supp draft and 9th in the keeper. I know your still confused. The live draft will go like this. Round 1-Keepers D.P.-Sangre-Cade-4th pick-LilPeeper-legges-wooks-bonka-9th pick-north orange It will snake from there so the person with the 4th pick here will get the 7th pick in the first round of the open draft. Post 93 in the other thread is the draft order for the open draft. Does that make sense? I know it doesn't. ugh.

Battles

Ok, here it goes. Promize has taken the 1st pick in the supp draft which translates to the 4th pick when we start taking our keepers and the 7th pick once the open draft starts. LilPeeper has taken the 2nd pick in the supp draft which translates to the 5th pick when we start taking our keepers and the 6th pick once the open draft starts. Tree gets the 3rd pick in the supp draft which translates to the 9th pick when we start taking our keepers and the 2nd pick once the open draft starts.
Basically your taking the position of the 3 teams that left. Since Promize has picked first in the supp draft he gets the last of the three team spots once the open draft starts and so on.
The supp draft IS a snake draft.
I also suggest that ya'll take at least 4 offensive players and 2 defensive players in case one of your guys goes down. Possibly even take more than that.
24
Tree
ID: 176431421 Fri, Aug 13, 2004, 07:12
ok - i guess i am confused as to the fact i'm reading there are now THREE seperate drafts?
1. the supplemental draft - that's what we're doing right now - and as i read it correct, since it's only three of us, and i have the third pick, i get TWO consecutive picks, correct?
2. what is this "taking our keepers" thing? i thought the established teams declare three keepers, us newcomers have this three round supplemental draft to take OUR three keepers, and those are the three keepers for the league.
3. the open draft, i presume, is the regular draft.
4. I also suggest that ya'll take at least 4 offensive players and 2 defensive players in case one of your guys goes down. Possibly even take more than that.
when? during the regular draft? huh?
5. i'm a pretty smart guy, and anyone here who has played with me will tell you that, but this is definitely among the most confusing things. ever. :o)
25
Battles
ID: 417261218 Fri, Aug 13, 2004, 07:27
1. Yes that is correct.
2. Since we are doing a live yahoo draft we are using the 1st 3 rounds to select our keepers. We are not declaring keepers before that time. People can only assume what players each team is going to keep before the draft. This adds strategy as the picks go off the board.
3. After the first 3 rounds of keeper picks the open draft starts, which is indeed the regular draft. Basically the 4th round in the yahoo live draft.
4. Before the start of the draft. For example, If Ahman Green goes down tomorrow for the season, I can select anyone off of my team to fill his spot. Thus you guys probably want that option too.
5. I agree and apologize. It really makes sense....in a backwards sort of way. ; )
26
Tree
ID: 176431421 Fri, Aug 13, 2004, 07:31
ok. i'm getting. but that essentially means that our draft is longer than 3 rounds, no? if we're taking extra guys, we need more than three rounds in this supplemental draft...
anyway, i have to run to work. i will make my 2 picks before 10 am eastern time.
I've had Edge on my team before, and he has yet to produce, except for 1 year. Faulk, even when hurt still continues to produce always...
Anyways, if this is going to be the rate of the live draft, we going to be doing this for WEEKS. I thought for sure I would wake up and be my turn.
Anyways, don't expect another pick till late tonight, I have a long drive to Georgia today.
28
Battles
ID: 417261218 Fri, Aug 13, 2004, 07:48
ya, you want more than 3 rounds. At least 5.
i guess ya'll are doing the supp draft as a slow draft. in post 8 I left it up to the 3 teams to organize it. To get it over with you guys could just pick a time to meet here and do pick after pick. shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, if that. Just my 2 cents though.

battles, promize, Lil. i'm gonna start a new thread just for the supplemental draft.
presuming we can only use the list provided about - and we can't use undrafted rookies - there are 60 players listed about.
i say we do a 10 round draft - that's 30 players total, 10 each.
but before i pick, i want one final clarification. are undrafted rookies allowed, or just the list above?
thanks,
Tree

There are no rookies to be drafted. You're only allowed to select from the player pool on the top of the page? You guys are making things much more difficult than they are. Everything is pretty clearly laid out, I don't see what the big problem is. Could also have had this mostly done by now.

Promize- you didn't have to select a idp with the third pick if you guys are doing more than 3 rounds, which you guys need to decide yourselves. I think it's wise though, as long as you think you have your definite offensive keepers with the first 2 picks.

Ok, lets wait a second... I deleted my post, and need some clarification...
From readin the other thread, the original thread, I thought there was a post that said in the keepers we MUST have 2 Offensive and 1 Defensive...
I only picked 2 Offensive and 1 Defensive, cause of this thread and #17
I made my picks, covering all aspects of what the rules are... I will let the commish tell me what is correct...
45
Tree
ID: 176431421 Fri, Aug 13, 2004, 23:09
promize - the commish told us to take control.
*I* decided it would be 10 rounds, because there is somehow a rule where the established teams dont have to declare their keepers until the actual draft.
if we have only 3, it doesn't allow room if one of our 3 guys gets injured before the draft, etc etc...
get what i'm saying?

Tree, I apologize about the frustration. We definitely want everyone to stay.
Post 24 followed by 25 explains why I thought ya'll should maybe do 5 rounds. It's just in case someone gets hurt before the yahoo live draft.
Promize, you are correct that you will only be keeping 2 offensive players and one d player once the yahoo draft comes. As I said in post 34, I think it was a wise move to get your top d guy. The only reason you would want McNappy now or later is if one of your other 2 guys goes down. You got your top 3 guys, now just pick up a couple backups in rounds 3 and 4.
Does that explain everything and calm the nerves? This really wasn't meant to be confusing and I again apologize if it is so. I'll hang around for the next 30 minutes to answer questions.

It's to account for any preseason injuries. It wouldn't be fair to them if they only took 3 guys total and one or two of them went down, they'd be stuck with them. However, if it happened to us, we'd just keep someone else from our team depending on how severe the injury is. It's only fair.
