I'm TOTALLY against after 12 hours the league "will nominate a player for you to draft". The nomination process will take time and we need to keep this thing moving.

How about after 12 hours you simply get skipped, BUT you can break in and draft when you check back in. Example: RBP has pick 3, but blows his 12 hours, Skiba (4) goes ahead and drafts a stud, as does Cobb (5), as does Sanders (6)...RBP finally decides to check back in, he had pick 3, but now 5 players are off the board because he waited 12+ hours holding up his buds while he was sleeping in his hammock under the tree snakes. RBP wipes the sleep from his eyes, jumps in grabs the 6th best player and decides to pay more attention the next round.

my 2 cents....

I agree with HHH. We would spend more time arguing about who to pick for that person. Let the person jump back in when he gets a chance. It is a risk we all have to take if we are going to be away from a computer that long. If you believe you will be away that long, send someone a list.

I'm for the "you get skipped" plan. 18 teams will take some time and the time is now.

Is the draft going to snake (1-18, 18-1, etc)?

OK Jon, I agree with you. I don't know what I was thinking. If you get skipped you jump in ANYTIME and make your pick. Yes it's serpentine.

Scotty,

How did the draft order get decided b4 all the rolls were completed? Just curious

My question on the draft order was about the decision to go highest to lowest, curious how that was decided.

Lastly and more importantly, I disagree with being skipped if I miss the 12 hour pick. Corky(by the way,his email is brent.nestor@mildenhall.af.mil) and I are on a short leash right now with work and both of us would prefer to have someone(Scotty) make our pick if we are getting close to our time limit. Does anyone really have an issue with this? If so, you may need to find replacements for us. Not trying to be a jerk just being honest. Thanks

Tim please clarify your question. The order was being deicded as we went and it changed with every roll. I was #1 for awhile and then got bumped twice. I stipulated in the fist message before the message on how we were going to roll that it would be highest picking first and lowest picking last. Then we all rolled and I verified every 17 of the rolls and you verified mine. Does that answer your question?

We'll fill it in 24 hours I predict. So, let's roll them bones!!!! Here's what you need to do...go to....

ttp://www.irony.com/mailroll.html

Roll 1, 100 sided dice. Repea that roll 1 time. Put your Rotoguru handle in the "subject block" block. Put your address in the top addy box and mine in the second. scott.mccoy@andersen.af.mil When I get them I'll post it here. We'll say the higher the better (hi man picks 1st, low man picks 18th etc). I'll send my roll to Tim and he can post it. Any questions? Do it right or you'll probably have to do it again. We'll break ties by whoever rolled first so get at it!!!

Scotty,

Thanks for the answer. U cleared if up for me, I just need to take more time to read all the posts.

As for the pick issue, I doubt it will be an issue because 12 hours should be plenty of time. However, if either of us are at 11 hours plus and have not chimed in, u have the green light to make a pick for us(if u don't mind doing that for us) Just don't give me 18 steelers, lol.

I have Portis in another league and I am not sure about the running game there. He had an awesome line in Denver. Rolling the dice. I am hoping with Hasselbeck coming of age, I hope the pressure will be off him. I needed a little variety. Besides if I have an identical team in all of my leagues, I could either win big or lose big. Judging by my past performances, I will lose big. Hell for $20, I could see myself taking Fred Smoot in the later rounds. Won't even need that last position to put the whooping on all of you!!

I wanted LT very badly. Settled on Green who could get me 2,200 total yards and a gaggle of TD's. Not a bad guy to settle on. If Priest, LT and Green were gone I would have taken Portis, but that's just me. I wonder how slim the pickings will be when I pick again.

I here you scotty, I was going to go J. Lewis, but you can't afford a player to miss any games. Culpepper was the safe bet. I could have a gone with F. Taylor, I like what he brings to the table, STB I wouldn't worry about him, I think his days of "splitting himself in two" is over..that's what he said it felt like when he ripped his groin a couple of year ago.

Lewis was nice, but that court case is bothering me. He may not miss time, but the thought of going to prison will be in his head on game day. And Google went public at $85, and is now $108 but I missed the boat on that one. High risk, High reward in MEM and TKO...and WOOF absolutely rocks!

Why in the world did we change draft threads? Don't do that again....please. Mass confusion reigns. People have to change their "favorites." It's more difficult to look up a player to see if he has been drafted. Can you think of a GOOD reason to change threads? I can't.....

I can't either. After this round, we should change the post one last time, but with all of the updated picks in the heading. In the later rounds it will become increasing difficult to keep up on who was drafted. If that does happen it could take forever to get ahold of the person who drafted because he may just sign off for awhile thinking he has got time before his next pick.

Scotty, why don't you make up an e-mail with everyone's address on it and then send it out. That way we could all just respond to all when someone makes a pick. Everyone checks their e-mail pretty regularly so this way we could all be updated as to who's pick it is without having to go to the site. What do you think?

DON'T buy IDNX!! I have been suffering with this stock for two or three years now. This company has the dumbest PR section in the universe. No updates on their newest technology. Just small blurbs about chicken scratch contracts. Even when they get the press, they still manage to not promote themselves. I need them to get up in price again, so I don't take a huge loss. I don't have a huge amount of money invested, but I am down 2/3d's of my money and it sucks. Great company, but lousy PR.

Ed off the rock...Ed Nelson..yeah maybe him...not the "neck" baby!!! You got to bring the Hatfields and McCoys to bring down a Lionheart.

Westbrook is a reach, but I went with the best RB on the best offense, and Buckhalter is dead. Foster scares me with Davis and Bennett and Tiki go competition.

Might be a bad pick, but I need a RB, before RBP turns them all out on the street!!

I do agree with you. He does look good. Owens is a huge threat as well. Philly might be a team to watch this year. McNabb is always a threat, unless he is on my team of course. Owens and Westbrook. I don't think I will be able to swing a RB on this go around. I am thinking kicker.

Not necessarily...what you need to do is (if you have faith in the company) be willing to by even more shares when the price is down...like now...and dump it when you are finally up. Or sell it when taxes are killing you, that works too! My first IDNX buy was at $10.05, a fact which I have not forgotten thanks to a stock tip from my good friend, the Running Back Pimp (RBP). But I liked the company and the contracts kept coming, so I kept buying (in fact heavily) when they went down to $4.25 in spring 2003. Then when they signed their biggest govt. contract in April 2004 I bailed, I'd seen too many short term spikes followed by disappointing earnings....basically I had learned my IDNX lesson.

bought IDX (before it was IDNX) at 9.40, bought some more at 11.50 and bought some at 7. Anyways I sold at $6.66 of all things. That was enough for me. BTW I got scanned getting a new ID the other day. The finger scanner was made by, you guessed it Identix! Sorry about screwing up the draft links, really I am. I don't like H3 yelling at me :-( Best picks so far in round #1 and 2? JHHH, how Lewis AND Faulk fall to him is unreal! Although both do have question marks and Marshall isn't as durable as he once was (was he ever?). H3 could go deep, or be in deep trouble but I'd trade Green and whoever I pick for Lewis and Faulk RIGHT NOW!

Scotty, I don't think I would. Lewis has the court case coming and like you said Marshall isn't all that durable anymore.

Yeah, I still like the company and will hold on for the long haul. I also got a new id card and used the identix scan. Even more emphasis is going to be placed on security for entry into the country and once those contracts start coming out, I am sure IDNX will get it's share. They will proabaly keep it a secret though. Wouldn't want to scare up any interest in their own company!!

I looked at it like this...this is Survivor, noone is guaranteed more than one week. I'm pretty confident M. Faulk and Jam Lewis will be on the field Week 1 (and hopefully scoring big). I passed on Lewis in another league for because of the trial issue, but this is Survivor...If he can give me enough good weeks to advance and know out some competition, who knows what could happen?

That's it fellows. JHHH & Superclyde are on the list!!! Your giving me a complex, I had a dream last night I was living on a Island and it was one big rock!!! Yeah, JHHH getting Faulk & Lewis could be large, I should have gone, Lewis, but I plan on lasting until week 17-18,

Ed living large on a rock with banana's and cocconuts, shrimp,crabcakes......yeah!!!!

It is scary not having a decent QB in this format, going with a weak QB will probably show you the door pretty quick...see ya JHHH!!!

Not many top QB's left, I still think your fooling around, but that's what a RBP would do to get a few more RB's...

Too funny Scott. Ed, you gettting a complex?!? Usually you just start some verbal bashing of those offending you!! I think if more people get on the "Ed, first off the rock" campaign, we could get you to cry. It will all be ok. You can still play for the weekly high score...snicker. Just kidding. With 18 teams, pickings are going to get slim real quick. I am with you Scott. I am thinking of a QB for my next pick as well. That is if it ever get back to me. Let's get this thing moving!!

My first instinct is to verbally fight back, but funny is funny. I normally regret it later, but I just can't help myself, when a clown makes a stupid comment (Lorin).

The campaign to get rid of the Edneck will never work, after week one is over it will fizzle out...waste of time.

Leave JHHH with no QB campaign is a better cause!!!

Speaking of no quarterbacks, Karl was in the playoffs two or three years ago and was without a QB for his game. Rules dictated no pickups allowed after certain week. He nearly won!! Missed it by less than 10!!

Lorin did come out of nowhere with that one awhile back. I still have to giv eyou props for the steam off of my urine crack though. That was one I will remember for quite awhile.

I was waiting, but didn't think that he would last. I had to do a search to see if his leg had fallen off or killed in a car crash or something. I can't believe I got him on the 33rd pick. Granted, he is no Trent Green, but I will gladly take Vick at this point!!

JHHH you been reading to many spy novels? Propaganda? I learned from the Jackal himself (Hobdy). Holmes makes Green a better then avg QB, otherwise he's a Vinny clone.

Vick was a steal at 33...snap! Whoops was that a bone breaking...he he!!!

Ha Ha Ed, very funny. No bone breaking this year!! That just earned you another pin in my doll!!

I take it Joe, that you find the Green pick a little odd.

I think you all are propaganda specialist. Scotty could talk a fish out of water with his silver tongue!!

Took a QB that down. Last time I took a QB in the round 2 was MVP Kurt Warner the year after. I think that Hass will get me some points and the RB's I like will be available hwne I pick in round #3.

Get them QB's while they are hot?....Not many left, you want to go with Fiedler or Brees, that's right I thought not!!! We are down to Garcia and Bledsoe types. You can't win this format without a decent QB. Scotty has never taken a QB this early since he drafted Elway way back in 1994!!!!

This is getting old? Fellows I think you need to have a backup plan on your draft picks. Make a list and give it to someone who can make your pick within a reasonable timeframe.

Take a page out of the Dawgs book, he made plans and it was nice to see!!!
