Wow...this draft is flying. That is really helpfull because Psycho and I will be leaving the country for Mexico next Friday morning and will not return 'till the night of the 6th.

I know I am the one that held the trigger without pulling it in order to get our vacationers back home and then deal with the ever tricky goat locker scenario. I did see a noon today post from Cliff in another draft thread...let's hope he is back..or at least give someone a que.

if anyone wants to email me a queue I will be around most of the weekend. We can keep this this rolling. Just put in the header it is a queue and I won't look at it unless it is your turn to pick.

Also post here so that we know you have seen this thread

I won't have computer access over the weekend, but Dave R is planning to give me a call when it's my pick and fill me in on who's been taken. He claims he doesn't have anything else to do this weekend except golf, so hopefully it won't hold anything up.

Not sure what I should do here. Msnapp needs to repick because he picked a taken player. Should I wait and let him repick or should I pick and let him catch up later? I will post for KKB to remove the pick.

When you see the Stop sign on the screen after hitting submit on your draft pick, you need to check the spelling of the player's name and not hit submit again.

Links to Yahoo are right below the Red Stop Sign.

I have such an appreciation for Dave (Guru) everytime I try to get a league organized and complete a draft. Dave runs a seemless operations as a league commish, keeps the rotoguru.com boards functioning smoothly, as a well as compassionately policed, develops fun games, reports standings daily, maintains a personally competitive status in most sports (he does run for cover during hockey season...wimp) and accomplishes such because of undoubtedly impeccable organizational skills and 3 hours sleep.

I'm not organized, attempting to grow a new business (remember that description of a boat as that hole in the water that you throw money into....my "new" business venture is a hole in my life that I throw time into) and I sleep and eat a combined 9 hours a day...leaving no time to be competitive in any of the sports and be lousy at performing commish duties for running drafts.

So I'm sorry already.

Fortunately, this is not new news to most of you. Now that you've read all this drivel, here is the latest screw up.

At pick 4.03 I picked Henry Travis (distant relative of William Barrett Travis, commander at the Alamo)

PD (thinking the Alamo was actually a large Taco Bell) drafted Travis Henry

PD then as a replacement pick took Derrick Mason.

Thanks for the stop sign Roy. Which brings up another point. A glitch in the draft program seems to be that when I have been drafting for Cliff and David Hamm, even when I get the name right, I still get the stop sign. Thus I have been ignoring the Stop Sign including, apparently, when I draft for myself.

We are going to shut down until Fred can make the correction for pick 5.09 to reflect the choice of Koren Robinson

With the problems incurred to day, I suggest that before selecting each future pick, look under the TOOLS section of the On The Clock league home page (the one where you enter your draft pick, position and team) and click on the link for View All Picks , then do a find search for your proposed draft picks last name. (If you are running Explorer hit Control & f to get to the find function)

Never heard from Cliff again. It has been 12 hours since Peter N drafted, so Cliff has timed out. Thus Peter N is up.

Starting today, we have a 5 hour clock. If you time out, you can make your skipped pick at anytime. Hopefully this will allow me to focus on some other issues...like work.

Draft has ground to a stand still. I know it is the week end, but another w/e is just 5 days away. The draft is 322 picks long (12 teams @ 23 players). We got 46 picks (in 36 hours) from Thursday mid afternoon through Friday night. From Saturday morning through tonite, (almost 48 hours) another 20 picks.

That leaves about 260 picks. In 11 days (September 3rd) Matt Snap and I leave for Mexico which will shut the draft down until the we return late September 6th,

Give me your opinions please...vote for 1, 2 or 3.

(1) do we go for 28 picks/day each week day and 10 picks/day without a clock to finish draft by night of September 2nd;

(2) same as 1, but with a short (2 hour) clock

(3)continue current 6 hour clock and shut draft down from Sept. 3rd thru Sept 6th. Finish draft on Sept 7 and 8..leaving 1 day to load rosters for first game night of September 9th.

Gawwwwwwd. We (business) switched to a Server in the Sky e-mail system (Go-Daddy) and every 10 days or so, it will freeze my computer while it decides whether or not it will allow me to look at what has been requested. It will eventually come to a decision and un-freeze the computer. (beyond strange) This just happened at work and I can't kill the program/restart the computer w/o saving the excell spread sheets I spent the day creating.

I am now at home, Brian's selection is on the board and we creep fwd in the draft. Has been a good day so far with 20+ picks and 1 1/2 hours yet to go.

The problem with my left eye ended up being a blood vessel that burst last week on the retina & my surgeon perfomed emergency laser surgery at 2pm this afternoon to try and close it. He hit me with about 120 shots from his laser "gun".

It's not as bad as the detatched retina was in the right eye earlier in the year (yet), but it's bleeding so bad he could only seal off 40% of it because of all the blood still in it from last week. I'll know more in a couple of weeks when he fries me again unless I get another major bleed before then.

I won't be able to sit at the PC very much for the next couple of days, but I'll check in as often as I can. I'm on AIM "deepsnappe" and pfb has been nailing me when it's been my turn (thanks). If anyone has a good calling plan, I can give you my phone #, otherwise, I'll check in as often as I can.

Hmmm...

I just went to the TSN site, and the scoring formulas have been changed since I first looked. I printed out the formulas before I headed on vacation, and they included return yardage points and return TDs. The defense points are also different. And the roster configuration is also changed.

I got an email from Taxman that mentioned return points as well. If the formulas now posted at the site are accurate, then I've been basing my draft on the wrong parameters. I guess I didn't get the memo about the changes.

It would have changed some of my picks, for sure - like Dante Hall.

Oof - I just found the email from Taxman with the updated formulas. Somehow I missed that, and had been relying on the formulas which were posted at the game site.

I'm screwed. Or at least, I have a handful of post-draft add/drop moves to be made.

'twill be interesting...
